Weatherguard installed a new roof on our barn in Aug 2016. They pushed a 2nd-layer overlay instead of full tear-off to win the bid, assuring us it was acceptable. Within a month, we had leaks. They blamed plastic skylights—some blew off in a windstorm due to improper fastening. We paid to replace them, then spent $6,000–$8,000 repairing dormers, cupola, and more. Still, leaks continued. They patched five spots, but interior damage worsened. Roofers later confirmed major installation failures: no underlayment, poor flashing, and misused fasteners. Weatherguard advertised a 10-year warranty—then claimed it was only 5. When we pressed, the owner blamed the building itself: “The building will continue to ‘move’… plywood will lift… creating leak potential.” Our barn has not shifted. The issue is poor workmanship. They replaced others’ roofs—but refused ours, even after admitting it should’ve been a tear-off. We regret trusting Weatherguard.❗Expect retaliation. We have full documentation.

Perverted workers, especially the white guy named Charlie. So gross! So unprofessional! Never again!

They were efficient. They finished in one day. They cleaned up everything that came off the roof. They are a good crew. They worked me into the schedule to get the work done. Fantastic workers.

The worker showed up after 3:00 PM, January 14. When I got home shortly after 5:00 PM, it was already dark and he was blowing the gutter material off the back deck. He said he replaced six tiles and was done.

I used a flashlight to show him the most broken tile at the gutter, above the garage. He said he hadn't seen it earlier. In daylight it was easy to see. He said he would be back the next day to replace it.

At about 10:00 AM, January 15, the worker returned. After he told me he was done I saw both a gradual gap in the joint between the replaced and existing tile, widening as it progressed toward the roofline. It was also not flush. After he "fixed" it two more times he got it right.

He then hosed down the sides of the house. All the debris that was on the siding was left on the ground, sidewalk, and driveway.

I called Kim at the Weatherguard office and she apologized for the work not being up to "your standards." I was notified about one hour later that my credit card had been billed the full price.

Later the same day I called Kim back and let her know that I found her worker's tile saw on the lawn in my side yard. She said someone would come and get it the next morning.

Shane is great. He saved me on the second job when the Tacoma Electric guy was making demands that none of us understood. I asked them to call Tacoma and have them explain because we couldn't figure it out and they had been very rude to all of in separate calls. Tacoma Electric initially wanted us to remove the portico. Shane had one of his guys come fix it to Tacoma's satisfaction.

The repair and cleaning were ok but I
asked for an evaluation of the roof and did not receive one. Recently we have
become aware of an active leak in roof that was not reported in October but had
to be there.
There are more repairs needed, in fact
the roof is being replaced but this was not reported by Weatherguard in October
when their guy was on the roof.

Two men showed up and had it done in less than two hours. They were gone before I had a chance to talk to them and inspect the job as I did have a question about the shingles at the intersection of the ridge line and roof. They were sticking up a little where they had to pry up the shingles and slide the new ridge line shingles under. I was afraid they might catch the wind and blow off. I called the company three times over a three week period and yesterday, 10/23/2013, one of the roofers showed up, to fix the shingles that were sticking up a little. He just put some silicone under the ones sticking up and pressed them down until they stayed down. A very simple fix and only took about 10 minutes.

I was more than impressed by the work completed, and the quality of the new roof. They did it all in one day! Bob and the office were great to work with and easily reachable. They arrived when they said they would, finished on schedule, and the price was exactly what was agreed upon. Also, considering the work done - the clean-up was amazing.
I would not hesitate to recommend Weatherguard Roofing to anyone.

The owner (Bob) was very straightforward and professional. They were on time and completed the work in two days. When I inspected the work, I found a damaged shingle that had a and quot;weakand quot; attempt at fixing it and some amount of debris and nails left on the roof. I called the owner and he came out the next day and made it all correct. Although they were and quot;low bidderand quot;, the cost seemed a bit high but I don't know the materials expense and thus I'm not a good judge. The owner seems committed to doing the right thing and was very responsive, so he gets high marks from us. Will the repair last? Time will tell, but Bob says it's good for 15 years.

There were some structural issues with the roof that were pointed out by Weatherguard at the time of the re-roof estimate. They indicated that those would need to be corrected by another contractor before they could put the new roof on. After the structural issues were corrected Weatherguard came over promptly and did the re-roofing. I was satisfied with the work that was done, except that I did have to pick up many nails in my yard after they had completed their work. Their office was pleasant to work with and I appreciated their flexibility on the scheduling of the work. There was a delay of several weeks in cashing the check that I gave them and I did have to contact their office a couple of times to ask about the status of the check. Overall though I thought they did a good job.

I have recommended them to a number of people. Having been in the trade, I know how people should conduct themselves, and they do it quite well. What stands out is the owner's supervision, the quality of their workmanship, the clean-up and the protection of plants and things like that when they are doing the work. They are very careful about the entire process. They are not the cheapest people, but their price is totally fair for the work they do.

Very responsive from my request for a quote to scheduling job and showing up as promised for work. Bob was helpful in picking colors and even called back with addresses where different options could be seen. Workers were polite and hard working, completing the entire job in one day. Only disappointment was finding numerous nails from the tear down on the driveway after their departure, for which I dropped their quality score one point.

For ten years I have had leaks and they always found a way to say it was my fault. The roof in my library collapsed from all the leaking. They eventually stopped returning my phone calls and so I gave up on trying to resolve the issues with them. They were very condescending and quick to place the blame on someone else. They weren't very willing to listen and it was always very hard to get ahold of them.
