I Google roofers in my area, this company came up and had not only the most reviews, but also the best reviews, called them up and they were at my house the next day. A few days following I made my appointment and only waited a couple more days. They showed up on schedule, very professional friendly guys. They did an excellent job, cant really tell where the hole used to be, it blends right in. The cleaned up everything and said good bye and were on their way. Thanks guys for the quality quick fix! ?

Roof is fine, but they did damage to my ceiling and made a mess inside my house when they removed my skylights. I had to force them to clean the debris, which included nails, out of my shower. They refused to repair the damage done to the ceiling. They told me, "That just happens in mobile homes." The foreman was condescending. After my realtor complained, they offered to pay a portion of the cost to fix the ceiling. They also sent me a $25 gift card to restore my good opinion of them. Too late.

"We strive to provide excellent customer service and quality and this is why we offered to help pay for the interior damage to the ceiling at your skylight although this was something that was out of our control. The skylight on your home was a deck mounted skylight and when the drywall was installed around it, it was not done correctly which is why when we moved the skylight to roof around it correctly the ceiling was damaged. We apologize that your experience with our foreman was not favorable. This comes as quite as a surprise as we typically get only positive feedback on him. We provided you with a gift certificate as a gesture that we are a business of integrity and we choose to make all efforts to leave our customers satisfied. It is unfortunate that in this case our efforts failed, but we are confident that we did what we could in this case."

Nice people and they did as well as other roof cleaners we've had except for their clean up. Stuff from the gutters got left on the ground but they cleaned it up when I pointed it out to them. I thought the price was a bit high, but there was a $268 trip charge, so factor that in if you don't live in Olympia WA. Would I hire them again? Maybe. We'll see when the time comes.

Response time was quick and on time for an estimate. Estimate was reasonable, and the estimator gave a complete explanation of what needed to be done. Repair was done and cost was exact amount as estimate. Although they were busy (expected this time of year), work was done without us having to wait too long (it was not an urgent matter to get the repair done right away).

The company was prompt, easy to contact, and efficient. The work was paid for as part of a conventional rehab loan and when my inspector made mistakes on some of the payment calculations they were helpful and considerate while the issue was resolved.

I continue to be impressed with United Roofing Solutions. They installed a total new roof system on my home this past summer.
This was done during that extreme heat wave which resulted in one of the skylight seals being heat expanded during the original installation. With the recent heavy rains this skylight developed a drip. A phone call to United resulted in a representative at my home within an hour and a half (are you kidding me?). He quickly diagnosed the problem, and the next morning they showed up with a crew and replaced ALL the skylight seals, no charge. When do you get service like this these days? Thanks, guys!

I hired United Roofing Solutions in June to do a complete
tear-off and re-roof on my home. The work was extensive as the home has had
several additions over the 32 years we have lived in it, and the quality of some
of the previous work was poor, resulting in lots of wood-rot removal and
replacement.
Their crew was just great- professional, courteous, and
hard-working. They consulted with me when there were any questions. Upon
completion they were meticulous in cleanup.
Having said this, I have owned and operated a materials
testing and inspection company in Olympia
since 1981, and am very knowledgeable in all aspects of the TPO-type membrane
roof that was applied, having inspected this application on several large commercial
buildings. I never had to say word one to the crew regarding their work. The
detail work was done to manufacturer?s specifications and industry best
practices.
Upon completion the invoice was exactly the amount of the
original bid, no hidden or extra charges. I am very glad I chose United Roofing
Solutions from the various bid proposals I had collected and can easily
recommend them highly.

Initial contact via message on website, prompt response to arrange for written estimate. Estimate was prompt, acceptable and we agreed for the work to be performed at mutual convenience - although there was no need for us to be home when job is performed.
Plenty of advance notice when work was performed, crew did great job and we're really pleased with results. Will definitely consult first when future work is needed for roof maintenance/repairs/replacement.

The phone personnel were always friendly. The owner showed up to bid when he said he would. Here comes the hitch, the work was either not done or done badly. Working with United involved multiple contacts and revisits because of poor workmanship.
Third, there is a dispute as to whether the material used for the metal flashing was appropriate for a tile roof. So it may be that I paid for something that will cause problems in the future because the flashing is for a tab roof not a tile roof. Time will tell. However, even if it is, the flashing is installed in some places on top of the roof paper, below the roof paper, and in a crinkled method both above an below the roof paper. There was no consistent method of installation. I suspect it should all have been put under the paper.
Third, one of the roofing companies said that I really needed to clean the valley's of the roof. I indicated that they had already been cleaned so he took a picture for me to show me they had not been cleaned. Apparently United's idea of cleaning the roof included putting a powder on the ridge of the roof (which immediately washed off because of the heavy rains) and pulling some leaves sticking out from the valley. However, it was clear that the tiles had not been put aside as they should have been to access and remove the dirt. Therefore, when it rained, which it did a lot during this time, water would come into the house. I called and notified United and they sent someone out who said that a piece of metal was bent and now was fine. Though United did not charge me for the cleaning because of the heavy rains, but didn't inform me that they hadn't done the work in the valleys. I could go on and include the gutters but I am out of room. The bottom line is I would not recommend United for work on tile roofs. And probably on any roof at all.

Eventually they relented and came out. What the owner said was that now the skylight was leaking and needed to be replaced. At this point I was suspicious of United's competence so called 3 additional roofing companies to check it out. No problem with the skylight.

"Although this review comes almost a year later, we do remember the trasaction with you. Without going into too much detail, becuase what is important here is for Angie's List members to understand that United Roofing Solutions, stands behind their work and strives for 100% customer satisfaction. We feel it's important for the members to know what was failed to be mentioned in your review. When our estimator met with you he provided a proposal to you per your request. After your meetings with several contractor's you requested that we install the gutter metal flashing in away another contractor told you it should be done. You were informed by our estimator that this method was not our way or industry standard, however we respect that you are the homeowner and installed it the way that you requested. Also, we provided you a proposal to hand clean out your front two valley's which we completed. However, you explained to our estimator that you thought our proposal was to clean the entire roof. The estimator said that unfortunately you mis-read our proposal and to clean the entire roof there would be a significan int increase in price. You mentioned that you received a bid from a different contractor that was the much less to do the whole roof and our estimator said that would have to be to have your roof pressure washed again which he informed you is what caused the leak issues you were having in the first place. So knowing that you had another contractor on the roof after us cleaning out the roof valleys it is not to our surprise that the valley's would be full a debris again. The estimator feels this is also the reason that the roof was leaking below the skylight, because after that cleaning there was deformed lead flashing at the skylight and cracked tiles. Our estimator came out and met with you within 24 hours each time you called or emailed with a concern, and we did everything we could to provide you with the customer satisfaction and workmanship that we pride ourselves in. As you stated we didn't charge for cleaning the two valley's, despite the fact that there was a cleaning completed on the roof afterwards, in efforts to make you happy, because that is our goal! Over the past three years, I had requested a total of 4 different bids to reroof our home (3 of them were for the current year of which United Roofing Solutions [URS] was the lowest bid provided). I chose to go with United because they had the best scores on Angie's List, they were bonded & Insured, and a friend of my dad's had put in a good word for them. My dad and I were going to attempt to do the job ourselves, but because of time concerns and increasing calls from our tennants that shingles were blowing off, I decided to get the job done this summer. URS was able to squeeze our home into their schedule while I was home visiting. It did require 3 days because they were squeezing me into a tight schedule during the nicest time of year and they found some rot around the chimney which required base-boards to be replaced.
Over the phone, Madeleine was very professional and easy to work with. She responded to my requests in a timely manner.
When the crew arrived, they backed their dump truck into the drive and within minutes had a crew of 9 guys up stripping shingles off. The crew was conscientious about their mess and made sure to clean up debris when done.
After I saw how efficient this crew was in addition to how equipped they were to do the job, I was so relieved that I decided to hire them verses do the job ourselves. My dad was on the scene with me and noted that they were meeting his high expectations.
Overall, I feel this company provided the lowest bid, while doing professional work and business. Our home looks great and was ready in time for new renters! We were not charged for work that I had requested in the bid (additional sheeting) that was not actually needed once the old shingles were ripped off and we had a good look at the condition of the existing sheeting. I would certainly recommend this company to anyone.

I first called United Roofing Solutions in early October. I agreed to terms of service for removing moss from our roof, clean gutters and install 2 4" flappers for our bathroom vents on October 16th. I called around the 4th of November for a guesstimate for service completion. I was told weather was holding service back and it might be two more weeks. First attempt for service was impromptu on November 20th. I agree it was quite cold in late November and attempting a roof clean in 34 degree weather at 6pm isn't a good idea. However, the crew was good enough to begin installation of the roof flappers. Two detached vent tubes in attic, check. Two nails through roof, check. Flapper installation, no. Nothing leaked and we stopped using our bathroom vents.
I was contacted on December 13th to complete service on December 16th in the AM. The next crew arrived promptly at 8 AM and got to work. By 11am the roof was clean, gutters were clean inside and out, and both roof flappers were completed.
I agree that I let the moss go far too long on our roof, however the job is done and our composite roof is in much better shape. The new flappers work great. No more steam in our bathrooms! I question the amount of time it took to complete service and would drop the grade for this and this alone (Responsiveness and Punctuality). My only negative comment is the length of time before we were scheduled (about 5 weeks) However, they were up front about this. The guys were very professional. They arrived just before dark on their scheduled day, and did not finish the job. Before they left they told me they would be back the following morning. They did, and finished the job.

As soon as I'd decided on their company (which was several months later) they scheduled and did the repair. I hardly know that they had been there except that the skylight was clean and did not leak anymore. It's been almost 3 months since and there have been some really hard rains and winds--no problems. Price was a little high but think was probably fair. Very satisfied.

After striking out with two other contractors who didn't even show up for their appointments to bid, I decided to try Angie's List. After reading the reviews, I chose United Roofing Solutions. Contractor Derrick Presley was punctual for the initial appointment to inspect my roof and to make a bid. I was very impressed by his professionalism and felt confident that his company would do a good job. That turned out to be the case. The work was done as promised, and I am very pleased with the results. Neighbors have commented on the beautiful new roof. As for cleanup, there was no trace on the ground that such a major project had been undertaken. When I went to United Roofing Solutions' office to pay, I was impressed by what I saw: a well-organized, neat office with everything in its place, including color-coded folders with the addresses of jobs done or to be done. The staff there was also responsive, knowledgeable and professional.
