The Woodard Bay Woodshop
About us
I am a young carpenter trying to keep the artistry of working wood alive. I am a one man operation, offering trim work, windows and doors, cabinetry, furniture making, and much more. For me, the job is a calling, and I do my very best to bring inspiration and value to every member of the community I serve. I started my career at the Port Townsend School of Woodworking, where I learned the traditional skills of joinery, furniture building, the science behind wood selection, hardness, movement, design, and so much more. I then spent 6 years working at a custom wood shop in Olympia, where I learned the skills of the modern trade as a finish carpenter, I have been a part of several custom new constructions, various remodels, and many a niche project in my time since. Two years ago, I decided it was time to hang my own shingle, and start up a company of my own, which I now offer to you. Ian Thompson The Woodard Bay Woodshop
