We listed our rental on SavvyLane.com on April 1. The buyer's son came out to look at the house while Jim Bennett called me (my husband was at the house working on some things) and I could barely understand him because he was mumbling. He didn't bother to bring the buyer to look at the house. Buyer literally came out on his own. Mr. Bennett called again that afternoon for an email address to send over an offer from the gentleman that had come out on his own earlier in the morning. I gave him a very easy email address and even spelled it out for him and he said that they were emailing an offer over. I kept checking my email but nothing. Then the next day at approximately 2pm Mr. Bennett called again and wanted to know if we had come to a decision. I explained that we hadn't received anything from him yet. He told me he had sent it but I have no proof that he actually did. The buyer's son had called in between letting us know that an offer was being sent. As we were driving home the buyer's son called and spoke with my husband and they talked for quite a while. After doing some thinking about how Mr. Bennett had handled sending over an offer we were beginning to not want to accept the offer because of the way he had handled things over the weekend. I spoke with a realtor friend closer to where we live and she suggested I call and talk to Mr. Bennett which I did. He insisted that no negotiations on the commission would take place because of what was stated in the MLS. Mind you he had done almost nothing to that point. I told him that we would not be signing anything that he had sent over. We then had our attorney draw up a Purchase & Sale Agreement after the written offer had expired. We contracted with the title company to handle the closing. We did all the legwork. Not Mr. Bennett. THEN, today (May 3) I got an email from Anya Myer, also in the same office demanding that I send over documents pertaining to the septic system. Mind you we have never heard from anyone in this office AND we have done all the legwork to bring the deal to the closing. Now, these people will still get a $10700 commission for doing absolutely NOTHING. And they wonder why people don't trust realtors. At the end of the day they have to look themselves in the mirror but it's obvious that they have no scruples or values or morals.
