Terrific! The piano sounds great and the problems I was having with the piano action have been resolved.

I was very impressed with Ryan's work and would recommend him to anyone needing piano service. When our white keys started falling off, I searched for someone to replace them for us. I'm really glad I called Ryan because he did a great job replacing them, and he was even able to tell us our piano's type and age. He was very patient with my four-year-old daughter who wanted to and quot;helpand quot; and gave us great recommendations for local piano teachers.

Our children are starting to get interested in playing our 102 year old piano. After buying it from a coworker 10 years ago, and moving it 4 times during that stretch, we knew it was overdue for a tuning and restoration. Before we spent too much money on it, we wanted it inspected to make sure it was worth it. He came 30 minutes late, which is why we gave a and quot;Band quot; for punctuality, however once he was here, he was very meticulous and informative, answering all our questions and providing additional information. Ryan played a sample piece for us to hear what it sounded like before the tuning. After inspecting and cleaning the piano, he pointed out all the areas where we could spend money if we wanted to fully restore it. Fortunately, the condition of the piano is pretty good for it's age, and we decided to have the keys refinished to start with. After he was finished tuning it, he played the piece again and you could hear the difference including fixing the sticking keys. My wife was so impressed with the visit, she posted the tuning on her Facebook page. Ryan was very conscientious about balancing the costs with the skill levels of the customer. We will definitely continue to use his services for future tunings and restoration work.

Got an appointment right away - just before Christmas. The technician was right on time and very professional.

After searching Angie's list, BBB, and yellow pages, I decided to call Pianova for an estimate to tune and repair a pedal on an almost 100 year old piano that needed some work. Ryan performed a piece on the piano for a "before" effect. He expertly tuned the piano as well as repaired some minor problems inside to the pads and keys. Then he played the same piece for an "after" effect. It was astonishing the difference in the sound and the feel of the keys when played. It sounded like a completely different instrument! A pedal was broken and required a second visit which was completed yesterday. I also recommend looking at his website for further education on his art. He has an accomplished resume and his list of clients is impressive. The scheduling/business aspect of my experience was also very clean and professional. The overall process has been wonderful. I look forward to having Ryan return for our overall piano maintenance and advice on possible future piano needs. Besides being a wonderful tuner, he genuinely loves his craft. He is an outstanding resource for the music community in Lacey/Olympia. He knows the music community well and can make referrals for other things regarding music.

Our piano had not been tuned in 40 years. We feared that the bass strings were dead, and that it was untuneable. Ryan vacuumed it thoroughly, taking out the keyboard, loosened the bass strings so they sounded again, and performed what he calls an extreme tuning, essentially tuning it three times. There was also a hammer that needed adjustment so it would hit the proper strings. Throughout the whole procedure, he explained what he was doing and answered all my numerous questions. We wondered about the quality of our piano, a family heirloom, and he was able to evaluate it generally. He obviously loves his work. He obviously loves pianos! I found his company through his website and made arrangements by email. All charges were discussed in advance. I was willing to pay a $30 travel fee for him to come to Tacoma from Olympia. He indicated that it would be possible to reshape the hammers to improve the sound and gave an estimate. This is something we'll definitely trust him with in the future. As a bonus, he plays for you a piece of your choice at the end of the tuning.
