Lakeview always does a great job. We hired them first over 10 years ago. Had several contractors come out for a bid and chose him. It was one of the best things we've ever done. The decision then wasn't just that his bid was the lowest; it was how he handled himself and talked about the work and suggestions that he made.
And it's the same way now. Except without the other bids. When we need something done, we call Lakeview's owner, Ted. We've had several emergencies and he has come right away. One was on a Saturday. One was in the middle of a horrendous rainstorm. And it was right at Christmas-time. It may not have been Christmas day, but it was real close. That time it was a leaking skylight. In my in-laws part of the house. Mom was on hospice and water was pouring into the bedroom right next to her. And I didn't want my husband getting on the roof to temporarily fix the leak. Ted and his worker were right out there and fixed it. So. when Ted works on a project for us, I understand when he needs to rush off for a while to help a woman who has water pouring into her crawl space from the main pipe coming into her home (really happened)!
Ted is good to make sure that he understands what we want him to do. When we are figuring out what we want to do, he is helpful at showing what could be done at different levels of cost. This has often helped us to reduce the cost of the project.
One thing to know is that Ted is a talker. Some people are talkers and some aren't. I understand, because I am one too. Still, if it's time to stop talking, just let him know that and he will.
We will keep hiring Ted until he retires or we don't have a house to fix, whichever comes first. (I hope he doesn't retire first)
