CAPITOL GLASS
About us
Window replacement is one of the most cost effective ways to save energy while also increasing the equity in your home. New windows and doors can completely change the look of your home both inside and out while adding the comfort you need during cold winters and hot summers. It’s also easier than you might think; most installations only take two to three days. Many styles and shapes of windows are available to fit the needs of your home. We can replace with vinyl, wood, fiberglass and even thermally improved aluminum. Sliding doors can be changed to swinging doors and vice-versa. If you’ve always wanted that French door in your bedroom where there’s a window, just ask! In many situations window sizes can be changed without structural modification.

We're currently in the process of refinishing our recently-purchased but very old home, and the window was, in all honesty, in rough shape. My favorite part about working with Capitol Glass is that they didn't try to sell us on new windows. They took our order without trying to convince us that we needed to replace everything. In my recent experience with this project house, that's rare. Everybody wants to convince you that you need to replace EVERYTHING and RIGHT AWAY. No pressure from Capitol Glass and we were thankful! :) When we DO decide to replace the windows, we'll definitely seek a quote from them.
"We appreciate how you feel the glass industry should be ran but glass shops have no control over the quality of glass coming from the suppliers. This unfortunately has become a more common issue lately. If they make the glass with flaws or don't follow the pattern correctly we have no control over that. All glass companies in Washington state use the same suppliers, it's something all shops have to deal with and it's very frustrating. Trust me, we dislike it more than anyone as we lose money when we have to keep going out to the same job I apologize for your frustration."
"All glass companies purchase windows and insulated glass from manufacturers of those products. We use the highest quality suppliers. The glass installed wasn't defective at all, there are ALWAYS inclusions of minor debris inbetween the panes of glass. Defective glass is replaced immediately but again this was not defective. If every unit that had some sort of debris in it was to be replaced again the customer would never get their job complete. Everything we buy as consumers is not perfect, perfection doesn't exist. That said, we are picky about the quality but are held liable to a industry standard. If you cannot see it at a certain distance then it's acceptable. This is not our policy, it is a policy that we have to follow as do all other glass shops. We are surprised to see this review on us as this customer was handled very efficiently and all concerns addressed immediately. Also as said this is not Capitol Glass policy but rather the industry standard and every glass shop like ours has to honor it. Please contact your local glass shop and ask them what the industry standard for insulated glass replaced is. Thank you."
