Description of Work: I am 17 miles from this plumber. Their price went from 49 to79 just to assess my problem due to my location. This is unacceptable. Do I have to live next door to them to get the 49 price?

Description of Work: When the plumber arrived at the house and saw it was a Hansgrohe, he said he wished he would have known it was that brand. He was unfamiliar with it but decided to work on it any ways. I have 2 shower heads, 1 of which leaked. He broke the handle off on 1 of them in several places while struggling with it. He charged me for his time and said he would talk to his supplier about getting the part needed to fix the leak and a new handle to replace the one he broke (at my cost). He never called back. After making numerous phones calls to him, he said he was unable to find the part needed and suggested the wall between the shower and toilet be cut into and replace both shower heads with a different brand (one he was familiar with). I told him I did not want to replace with a different brand because the other shower head was fine, plus I would have to hirer a contractor to fix the wall he wanted to cut into. He said, "Well that's what I suggest." and I never heard from him again. I talked to the owner and he was just as unhelpful and rude. I would NEVER use Brooks Plumbing again.

+ -1 moreThey are currently working for me. They are great, but are expensive. They are also available, reliable and communicate well. So that’s what you would be paying for. They are more expensive than anybody but they also provide service. I would use their services in the future.
Description of Work: Brooks Plumbing started the plumbing work about a week ago. They are re-plumbing my garage and are also plumbing for a washer and dryer fixture. They are removing the copper and turning it into PEX.

+ -1 moreOverall my experience was excellent. I keep their business card on my fridge and will definitely use this company again. The plumber even called me immediately after I talked with the office to give me a more accurate estimate of when I could expect him to arrive. They were punctual, professional, and took care to be careful while removing the drywall in a very small area in my kitchen. Overall an excellent company.
Description of Work: Services performed included a visual inspection, leak detection, dry wall removal, and re-caulking of the bath tub. Once the problem was located, he explained in detail exactly what was wrong and what was needed to fix the problem. Paul even took the time to talk to my insurance company to describe the type of work required so that I could get reimbursed for the work.

Description of Work: My kitchen drain had slowly stopped working...it was draining but ever so slowly. I called about 8:00 AM and and Mike arrived at about 2:30 in the afternoon. He even called first to let me know he was coming. Very nice man and very upbeat with a great attitude. He was here about 1 1/2 - 2 hours. The house is old (1940 or more) and hard to work on no matter what you're trying to do. It took him 3 tries to "snake" the drain to unclog it. It seems to be fine now. And he cleaned up the mess. He recommended that if it ever happens again, that I have someone go under the house and take a look. There may be a pipe section that needs to be replaced after 70+ years.

+ -1 moreService was wonderful! I love the same-day service. He arrived an hour late, but called to let us know he was running behind. We had a good laugh about my wonderful plumbing skills (note the sarcasm) and he went right to work. He replaced all of the pipes under the sink and make everything line up much nicer. He worked quickly and thoroughly.
Description of Work: I decided to try my hand at installing a garbage disposal and failed miserably. I called the plumber in the morning after and they came out that same day! He had to reseal the sink drains, repipe under the sink, and saw off a portion of the pipe that was coming from the wall and reinstall the garbage disposal that I had put in wrong.

+ -1 moreThe fix involved crawling under the house and cutting the pipe, threading a new pipe, and attaching a complete new faucet. Because this company charges per job rather than per hour, we knew upfront exactly what it would cost. It was pretty expensive, but it was a very messy job and one that we would not have been able to do. They came out the very same day I called, were very friendly and professional. I will definitely call them the next time we need plumbing work.

+ 0 moreI called Brooks in the morning and they were able to come out that afternoon. I explained the problem and was given a quote for the repair service. They scoped and unclogged all bathroom pipes and replaced a leaking hot water pipe. The final price of the repair was exactly what was quoted. They provided clean, prompt, professional service. They're a little on the expensive side, but I've used them before and been quite happy with the result, and I'm always willing to pay a little extra when I know the finished product will be outstanding.
Description of Work: What began as a clogged bathroom sink became a clogged everything after a bit of misguided home repair. Standing water in the sink and bathtub became a big problem in no time.

He gave us an estimate prior to doing any work, and gave us the better deal of the two coupons that we presented also. He diligently installed every part of the plumbing and checked after he was finished for leaks and drainage issues. When he discovered that we had a leak from the air vent fitting, he replaced it on his own with no charges to us. After the job was completed to his satisfaction, he insisted we check the work for ourselves prior to payment.
Description of Work: Called to get a kitchen faucet, garbage disposal, dishwasher air vent and sink drains installed.

The tech had to return to the office and consult with more experienced personnel and then on his second visit was able to finally fix the problem. I liked the way they kept after it until they were able to solve my problem.
Description of Work: I had water leaking at the base of a toilet and they made two visits to finally fix the problem by adding a second wax seal ring.

+ -1 moreI had a leaking hot water pipe last winter, and another plumbing company said they wouldn't be able to fix the pipe without busting up a concrete pad and charging me thousands of dollars. It is an old house and the plumbing is a little wacky. Brooks sent Paul Lightfoot, a service technician. He figured out all the idiosyncrasies of my plumbing, sealed off the old hot water pipe, and put in a new pipe. It only took a few hours and cost me significantly less than other companies would have charged. I am not the kind of person who can spend thousands on one plumbing fix! I had Paul return to replace my well pressure tank this year and he did a great job on that too. It was very reasonable, so I gave him a big tip. He is a very nice guy - a pleasure to work with.
Description of Work: Installed new hot water pipe from hot water heater in shed to house, bypassing old leaky pipe (2007).

+ -1 moreMike arrived on time and was friendly.1 minute to identify the problem. Quotation already in price book. 60 minutes to attain part 10 minutes to replace. Subtotal = 267.19. Internet Discount ($33 honored). Total price with tax = 253.86 (including tax). Conclusion, while the services was professional, expedient and cost given up front, it was a little pricey for the amount of work and replaced equipment cost. My Google search for the Wilkins XT-8 found the expansion water heater to be around $36.
Description of Work: Arrived at scheduled time. Identified problem to be with the water heater expansion tank required replacement. Quoted work with replacement part from price book. Attained and replacement part.

+ -1 moreBrooks Plumber showed up do replace drain and overflow he gave me a written quote of $1,210.00 for the job! I told him this was an insult, charging so much for only 3-4 hours work. Told him I did not want to have him do job at that price so he billed me $53 for coming to house.
Description of Work: I needed to have the drain and overflow in 2nd story bathroom tub replaced & re-plumbed. Knowing the expense of this job is the time spent to open the ceiling and removing old waste drum (installed in late '30's), so I did this part of the job. All the plumber needed to do was re-plumb & replace drain & overflow (Note; it only took another plumber 3 hours to do the work).

+ -1 moreThey're courteous and reliable. They are good at letting you know what the job is going to cost you before they start. We have used them 3 or 4 times and have been happy with the job they did each time. The first time they come out they may offer an ultimate savings agreement. It includes certain services including a free home plumbing inspection, where they determine any problems you may have in the future. For instance, if you have to have a faucet replaced, they will charge you a certain amount for a certain grade or brand of faucet, and you pick the faucet out and they will get a bit of a savings on the work. I did take this and it did save me money.
Description of Work: We had to have a faucet replaced in one of the bathrooms.
