Brooks Plumbing Co
About us
We are not fans of surprises so we do our best to not surprise you. We charge a $49.00 site fee to get us to your house so we can assess and price the next step toward a solution. (distances of more than 20 miles from our office may have an increased site fee charge) If you choose to have us do the work that day we do waive the site fee. Mention you found us on Angies List for a $25.00 discount off of the service fee. Not valid with any other discounts and does not apply toward the site fee charge.

$200 too much. I did not want to spend more time searching for another plumber. As I expected, the technician spent about one (1) hour to do the bibb replacement. Assuming the cost of the material is $60, the labor portion of the cost was $328. A labor cost of $328 per hour is outrageous!
To get an idea of what the going " market price" is to replace a hose bibb, I called to get a quote from three (3) plumbing companies; two (2) from Angies List and one (1) from the local Lacey yellow pages. All quotes were from licensed, bonded plumbers. I found the average of the three price quotes was $170 including material; a $218 (128%) difference from Brooks Plumbing. My assumption I was overcharged $200 by Brooks was confirmed by my "market survey".
Bottom line. For hose bibb replacements, Brooks Plumbing is grossly overpriced. i do not know if this
"overpricing" situation applies to Brooks' other services. I'm assuming it does, and I will not use Brooks Plumbing again or recommend Brooks plumbing to my friends and neighbors in the Jubilee community in Lacey, Wa.
Terry came out and checked the heating elements... both were working properly.
He replaced the thermostat on one of them. About a week later, that thermostat failed.
Terry came out on very short notice, removed the defective thermostat, replaced it and replaced the entire electrical lead wire at no additional cost.
There have been no problems since.
Brooks Plumbing always provides great service at reasonable prices.
"We are sorry that this customer had issues that we were unable to repair to her satisfaction. It is true these were faucets that are not easy to work on or get parts for. We did have the unpopular position of explaining to the customer that it might be more cost effective to replace rather than repair them because we knew it was doubtful we could make a repair that would be satisfactory. The customer was not happy with my plumber and I did call and speak with her. I am sorry she felt I was rude. I was not trying to be. I wanted to try and communicate that we were only trying to give her our best advice even though it was not what she wanted to here. We put her in contact with a representative from our wholesale house who might be able to locate the parts she was adamant about finding but the last time I checked he had not been successful either. I wish we could claim the ability to repair any and everything but unfortunately things do wear out. All we can do is try to be clear about the condition and the options available. We do our best to do that politely. I hope the customer is successful in getting her repairs completed as she wants them."
"We were sorry to hear that the customer is having low water pressure problems. We were surprised to see on this site that we were given a poor review because of it. We tried to contact the customer when we saw the review but we have not had a response. Our records show this work was done 07/14/2011, not May 2013, and all we did was install the sink the customer provided. I suspect the low pressure has more to do with a fifty year old plumbing system then it does with a customer provided sink we installed two plus years ago. I would have been very happy to discuss all of this had we known there was an issue. We are still happy to discuss the issue with him if he would contact us. We are sorry to here he is having plumbing issues."
I was very impressed with Paul, very knowledgeable, patient, polite and professional. I will keep him on speed dial for any other plumbing issues that may come along.
Maybe if they had come out at night or weekend the price paid would be justified but I called on a Friday and they came out on Monday afternoon.
"It is true that we provided [member name removed] a uniform price up front for the work that he had asked us to do. It is true that he asked us to proceed knowing full well what we would charge to do the work. We are glad the city inspector agreed that the work performed was correct and approved. It is unfortunate that [member name removed] has since changed his mind on what he wanted to pay. We give prices in advance because I want our customers to have knowledge and control of the costs before they ask us to make repairs. I wish [member name removed] the best but the reality is that the work was fairly priced and was performed exactly as we promised up front and only after he agreed to it. I'm sorry that it cost more than he wanted to pay."
They were fine. They were pricey. The guy who came did good work. I would use them in the future.
