Well. They planned their work so we always had water each night. Very little inconvenience to us during the project.

We had a large number of family members inbound for Christmas when our new dishwasher stopped functioning. Though under warranty, we couldn't get the dealer's contracted plumbing company to come to the house until well after the holiday.  I called Brooks, who worked us into the company's busy service schedule a few days prior to Christmas; however, the scheduler called to offer an earlier appointment when another customer canceled. Paul arrived, listened to our description of the trouble, inspected the dishwasher and correctly diagnosed the problem as a drain obstruction under the sink rather than the appliance next to it. He had a replacement hose in his truck, installed it and cleared the drain - saving us from about 10 days of hand washing a ton of dishes. He couldn't have been more courteous and professional while our guests began arriving. This was our second experience with Brooks and neither could have gone better. We have put Brooks at the top of our list of repair companies for future issues.

I was charged $422 for replacement of a hose bibb by Brooks Plumbing.  This very high price was quoted to me by the technician who showed up to do the job, and it surprised me!  The technician said "a hose bibb replacement is a fixed price of $388 plus tax whether it takes 1/2 hour or five hours to do".  I previously did not get a quote from Brooks Plumbing as I only left a message on Brooks' voicemail regarding the nature of the job.  No appointment was made, and the Brooks Plumbing technician showed up at my house on 8/17/15 unannounced.  I was in a take it or leave it situation.  I took it knowing that the price was at least
$200 too much. I did not want to spend more time searching for another plumber.  As I expected, the technician spent about one (1) hour to do the bibb replacement. Assuming the cost of the material is $60, the labor portion of the cost was $328. A labor cost of $328 per hour is outrageous!
To get an idea of what the going " market price" is to replace a hose bibb, I called to get a quote from three (3) plumbing companies; two (2) from Angies List and one (1) from the local Lacey yellow pages. All quotes were from licensed, bonded plumbers.  I found the average of the three price quotes was $170 including material; a $218 (128%) difference from Brooks Plumbing.  My assumption I was overcharged $200 by Brooks was confirmed by my "market survey".
Bottom line.  For hose bibb replacements, Brooks Plumbing is grossly overpriced.  i do not know if this
"overpricing" situation applies to Brooks' other services.  I'm assuming it does, and I will not use Brooks Plumbing again or recommend Brooks plumbing to my friends and neighbors in the Jubilee community in Lacey, Wa.

Our water heater was only providing about 10 gallons of hot water before it ran cold.
Terry came out and checked the heating elements... both were working properly.
He replaced the thermostat on one of them.   About a week later, that thermostat failed.
Terry came out on very short notice, removed the defective thermostat, replaced it and replaced the entire electrical lead wire at no additional cost.
There have been no problems since.
Brooks Plumbing always provides great service at reasonable prices.

Response from Brooks Plumbing Co
"We are sorry that this customer had issues that we were unable to repair to her satisfaction. It is true these were faucets that are not easy to work on or get parts for. We did have the unpopular position of explaining to the customer that it might be more cost effective to replace rather than repair them because we knew it was doubtful we could make a repair that would be satisfactory. The customer was not happy with my plumber and I did call and speak with her. I am sorry she felt I was rude. I was not trying to be. I wanted to try and communicate that we were only trying to give her our best advice even though it was not what she wanted to here. We put her in contact with a representative from our wholesale house who might be able to locate the parts she was adamant about finding but the last time I checked he had not been successful either. I wish we could claim the ability to repair any and everything but unfortunately things do wear out. All we can do is try to be clear about the condition and the options available. We do our best to do that politely. I hope the customer is successful in getting her repairs completed as she wants them."

I feel the that they provided great service overall...on time and completed the job in a timely mater. I think that he did quality work. The only complaint I have is that I believe that it was too costly. I did not do the homework and check around to see if I could get a better price...so I'm not really sure what the going rate is..just seemed over-priced to me

I would never use them again. They were very punctual, the person was very professional but to clear two drains, he charged me $400 and he wasn't even here in an hour. Everything else was nice but I thought $400 was really excessive. By the time he told me that price, he has already done the work so what was I going to do? I will tell no one to use them. It took him a week to get here.

Hot water pressure went way down. Good people, but I will get multiple bids next time.
Response from Brooks Plumbing Co
"We were sorry to hear that the customer is having low water pressure problems. We were surprised to see on this site that we were given a poor review because of it. We tried to contact the customer when we saw the review but we have not had a response. Our records show this work was done 07/14/2011, not May 2013, and all we did was install the sink the customer provided. I suspect the low pressure has more to do with a fifty year old plumbing system then it does with a customer provided sink we installed two plus years ago. I would have been very happy to discuss all of this had we known there was an issue. We are still happy to discuss the issue with him if he would contact us. We are sorry to here he is having plumbing issues."

Finished replacing valve in garage - not leaking one. The drying company had torn out much of the sheet rock. Plumber look it over, had me turn the water on, and found the pinhole leak, and repaired it

I am a landlord that does not live in the same location as the house that needed plumbing, which makes it difficult to make arrangments. I called three plumbing companies Friday, and decieded to go with Brooks Plumbing due to the confidence and knowledge shown by the lady that answered the phone and the reviews on Angies list, they explained in detail their procedures and answered any questions I had, we scheduled a visit for that following Monday. Paul showed up on time, called me and told me that he would have to cut the ceiling drywall to find out where the leak was, once he found the source of the leak he called me back and told me what the problem was and what he would recommend to fix it and the cost. I asked him to fix the leak and he told me he would call me the following day and we could arrange payment. Bruce (my renter) called me once Paul left and told me what an amazing job he did, he was professional, very polite and answered all his questions as well. Paul called me the next morning and told me exactly what he did, recommended to leave the drywall off for a couple days to ensure there are no other leaks, gave me a name of a drywall company.
I was very impressed with Paul, very knowledgeable, patient, polite and professional. I will keep him on speed dial for any other plumbing issues that may come along.

Expensive!! Pulled out big book of standard costs for various jobs and he told me the cost. I thought if I got another estimate they'd do the same so I went with it. Nothing was discussed about required permits. Found out later through a contractor and then my research that a permit WAS required to do this job. I pulled the permit and the job passed with no problems.
Maybe if they had come out at night or weekend the price paid would be justified but I called on a Friday and they came out on Monday afternoon.
Response from Brooks Plumbing Co
"It is true that we provided [member name removed] a uniform price up front for the work that he had asked us to do. It is true that he asked us to proceed knowing full well what we would charge to do the work. We are glad the city inspector agreed that the work performed was correct and approved. It is unfortunate that [member name removed] has since changed his mind on what he wanted to pay. We give prices in advance because I want our customers to have knowledge and control of the costs before they ask us to make repairs. I wish [member name removed] the best but the reality is that the work was fairly priced and was performed exactly as we promised up front and only after he agreed to it. I'm sorry that it cost more than he wanted to pay."

Paul was very careful and explained what he might be able to do to remove the remainder of the broken shower arm. If unable to do that he explained what the alternatives would be to complete the repair. Paul worked for quite a while to remove the pipe and installed an new metal shower arm. Very Professional! Very pleased with the work and really reduced my stress with the thoughts of what might of had to be done. Would definitely hire Brooks Plumbing again - and would ask for Paul to do the work!

Brooks Plumbing has always served our plumbing needs since we moved here over 12 years ago. Their staff is professional, punctual and polite. I don't think they are the cheapest option out there, but we have only had 1 repair go bad and the owner came out, looked it over took responsibility for it and made it right. I can honestly say I highly recommend them.

The toilet seal to the floor flange was rocking. Brooks plumber, Paul, was on time as scheduled. Paul removed the old toilet, found the problem, and left to get the required parts. He turned the water back on when he left (happy). Paul returned in about 45 min. with the new toilet and other supplies. Very pleased with the repair!

Original appointment was upgraded when a vacancy occurred. The craftsman was friendly, excellent personality and highly skilled evidently since everything he and quot;fixedand quot; was working well when he finished the job and is still performing as would be expected. The estimate given prior to commencing the job turned out to be less than one dollar of the actual amount paid.
