REMAX Acorn Properties

The agent made her transition from one company to REMAX Acorn Properties pretty seamless, which was good.  However information we received during the process of finding a house was sometimes incorrect in significant ways.

• While considering houses we were encouraged to make an offer if we were considering a house at all, since we could back out at any time for any reason.
• Before making an offer on a particular house we were given a snippet of the CC&Rs in answer to a question about height restrictions.  It showed a clause that exempted the lot we were considering from a 16ft height restriction.  It turns out that this clause was no longer in effect since it had been removed in a later, approved version of the CC&Rs.
• After having our offer accepted we requested several repairs indicated by the inspection report.  The current owners countered our request.  We were told that we could counter their counter in a manner much like the negotiation over price.  This turned out to not be true. Contractually we either had to accept their counter or reject it outright, and any other action on our part would have resulted waiving our right to have anything fixed.

She is the nicest lady in town and is super nice. She is responsive and stays in touch with you. She does her homework and is informed. She is willing to spend the time with you and helps a lot. She has dealt with us for hours. We finally decided to pull the house off the market. Her customer service stood out to me the most. When we were trying to sell our house, she took pictures of the house. She did that so that the potential buyers could see the whole CD with the pictures of the house instead of taking just a flier. It was a full portfolio with pictures including the bedrooms, bathrooms, the outside, the backyard and everything. She made it all on her own and customized them with her name in the front of the CD. She did a lot of extra work like that. I have never seen that before. She was willing to put in the extra work. We didn’t pay her anything because we didn’t sell the house. We did ask her about her charge and she told us not to worry about it. She just asked us to stay in touch with her so that we can deal with her when the market gets better in a few years. She spent a lot of time with us. So, that was really cool. She was even willing to reduce her commission. She was offering those suggestions. She was always here even before we did. We would definitely use her services in the future too.
