 + -1 moreFrom start to finish, A+. We needed to hook-up to the city sewer and have the existing septic tank decommissioned. Lee Westerlund was prompt with his bid, he quoted us a fair price to start, completed the job on time and under budget. On the 2nd day of the job, my husband asked Lee for a cost estimate to remove the overgrown blackberry bushes on the perimeter of the property, Lee went ahead and cleared it while he had his crew and equipment on site! We are so pleased with Westerlund Excavation, we will definitely call them again for future projects and recommend them without pause. Thumbs Up!

 + -1 moreFollowing Lee Westerlund's second site visit, I pursued him for several months to perform the quoted services. Several times, he told me that they had become quite busy and would try to work my one day project into their schedule. When that never happened, I called the last time around late May, 2011. Lee told me then that there was little profit in this job and that they could only work it into their schedule at time permitted. Desparate for water hook up, I emailed Lee and suggested that he raise his price if he could not make enough on his initial quote (when they were not busy), and that I would still consider using them at a higher price as I needed the job completed. Lee never responded to this communication. Ultimately I started over and found another company to hook up my water.
Description of Work: I needed a water line connected from the city water main on the street to our residence that is currently connected to a well. Having found Westerlund Excavation on Angie's List, I contacted them for a proposal. Last November, both Don and LeeWesterlund came to the residence and evaluated what needed to be done, aftrer which they gave me a proposal. I then spent a couple of months working with the power company to see if I could underground the power lines at the same time. That proved unfeasable for me due to complicated permitting requirements. Around March, 2011, Lee returned for a more detailed site visit during which we discussed the well disconnect and other details of the job.

 + -1 moreIn spite of suffering two mechanical failures due to the difficulty of working through hardpan on a slope, they finished in two and a half days.
Description of Work: Don and his crew installed approximately 150 feet of side sewer between my old septic tank location at the back of the house and the new sewer connection along the road, working across two intersecting slopes and down approximately thirty feet from the house to the sewer connection which was eight feet below grade at the road. They filled and decommisioned the septic tank and restored the hillsides around my home to better-than-new condition. They removed and replanted some landscaping that was in the path of the excavation. As a bonus, they dug up and restored a downspout outflow water line that had become crushed and blocked over the years.
