We are very happy with the work he did. He asks to you be out of the house the entire time he is working on your floors and since he works alone, it took longer than the last time we had them done - six days vs. four days - but we are very happy with his work, so it was worth it.
Response from Scott's Hardwood
"Thank you so much for trusting me to do the work. Sorry it took so many days. Your job was not a normal one for me. The baseboard removal was quite extensive. Also the plastic to contain the dust was a lot. Also things like remove toilet and washer and dryer took time."

Scott paid tremendous attention to detail and did an outstanding job.  He always made quality a top priority and would give us choices when issues came up.  He provided us with advice on how to care for the floors going forward as well.

I was extremely pleased with the finished product. The wood floors in my house had not been buffed or refinished since I moved into the house in 2001. There was also a place that needed to be repaired in the breakfast nook area where a chair had scraped the finish off to the bare wood. Scott was very punctual when he came for the estimate and explained to me all the options available (from sanding the entire floor down to the bare wood and redoing it completely to buffing and finishing. I chose the buffing and finishing (I could not be out of the house for the amount of time it would take to completely redo the floors). Scott also explained what he needed to do with the bare patch in the breakfast nook area and warned me that the repaired spot would be noticeable if we were only going to do the buffing and finishing. That was fine with me. Scott arrived promptly on the day the floors were to be done and taped the entire perimeter of the floor (even around the sink in the guest bathroom!). The results were absolutely wonderful. The buffing removed most of the surface scratches and scuff marks and left behind the dings and gouges that I liked (to show that it's a real wood floor and not a laminate). The total area that Scott buffed and finished was about 1600 sq ft. I opted for the water-based finishing product (less volatile organic chemicals) which allowed me to come back to the house that evening. The repaired spot is noticeable in that it's darker than the surrounding floor, but that's perfectly fine with me. Another mark of character for the floor! I would definitely use Scott again for any wood finishing. Excellent job!

We met Scott two years ago when we requested a quote for our floors. We at the time had intervening costs, so did not do the project at that time. 2 years later we called him, he came out again, remembered the flooring and literally provided us a quote for almost the same amount.. little less actually since there have been changes in some of the pricing. He was willing to answer all our questions about why he was proposing a specifc solution, and then went through the house to make sure he had a good view of the work. He insisted on consistency in a place where we had decided not to put the wood ( a closet) and did the work because he was there. At one time in the process he called to let us know there might be an additional cost due to molding that was not at the bottom of our cabinets that would help in the refinishing process. We agreed as it was a few hundred, but he knew we were trying to economize. He was able to sand close enough to the base of cabinetry without damaging them, and saved us the $. The project was ahead of schedule, and under budget.
I know he also does tile, and he would be the first person I will call.

Scott was great from start to finish. Showed great attention to detail, installed floors without any hitch (even when he had to accommodate for slight differences in plank widths - which was major problem due to condo layout), and kept everything as clean as possible during and after all the work.

Scott did an awesome job! Not only did he do a great job with the flooring - it looks really good and so much better than our previous flooring. He organized the work so we could stay in the condo during the installation which saved us over a week of hotel costs. In addition to doing the installation, he took care of all the details around it such as: - Providing the detailed info the condo association board needed before they gave us permission to proceeed - Removing and re-installing the base boards. - Ordering the wood - Moving the furniture and appliances to do the installation - Touching up the wall paint (even beyond the small nicks he and his man had done during the installation of the flooring) - Cleaning up afterwards The configuration of our condo makes it challenging to properly install hardwood floor - two passageways meet up at the living room and the planks need align across both of them. Scott and his man did a great job with this. The planks lined up perfectly! Scott and his man were great to work with. They were very nice, always on time and easy to get in touch with. Price wise, Scott's bid was amongst the lowest ones we got and the final price matched the bid exactly. I highly recommend Scott for your hardwood flooring needs!

Awesome! Scott came over promptly for a bid after we first contacted him. Within 24 hours, I had a bid. We changed our minds about the wood a few times but Scott never complained, always providing new estimates. When we finally set the date, Scott was on-time, kept the house clean, professional and met with us along the way to verify eveything was to our satisfaction. We are planning to hire Scott to redo our exisiting wood floors downstairs and would highly recommend him to anyone considering hardwoods. The estimate was accurate and was considerably lower than other bids we received. And, the final total was what we had discussed with Scott from the start.

Scott is amazing, a true floor artisan. He is very organized, on time, and is always polite and courteous. My house was cleaner when he left than when he arrived. He has excellent communication skills and I always knew what was happening. He worked weekends to get us back in the house sooner. He ripped out old carpet, performed repair on sub-flooring, installed hardwoods upstairs and on stairs. He created new sub-floor area in stairwell on cement slab. I also had another project going at the same time that created more work for him, which he never complained about and it looked better after he finished what was essentially someone else's job. Scott is a perfectionist, in a good way. Our floors look amazing and we can't believe how good they turned out.

My experience with him was excellent overall. He came on time every day and did exactly what he said he was going to do and did it in exactly the amount of time he said he would do it in.

The experience was wonderful. Scott is an artist. The floor was like a satin finish on a custom hand made guitar. The lace in between old and new was so well done that you almost can t see the difference. He did such a great job. The price was fair. He provided excellent workmanship and detail. He s a hard worker and he s a great guy. I would recommend him very highly.

Scott was the only one of 4 companies that I contacted (all from Angie's list) to actually give me a written, detailed estimate. I had already had wood flooring installed in the kitchen area, and he matched the new material as well as was possible. The installation was very neat, he cleaned up throughout the process, and the finish work was excellent. He followed up a few days later to make sure everything was OK. He even got rid of the squeaks in the subfloor. He was very close on the estimate.

Scott is a perfectionist; and VERY fussy about the material and the work he does. The quality of his work is excellent and he takes the time to explain what he is doing and why he does he does it. He communicates well and was always on time. We have hired him to do our stairs in December. I would definitely recommend him to my friends and neighbors.

The overall workmanship is excellent, to call him meticulous would grossly understand his attention to detail and craftsmanship. He is very prompt thorough and keeps you informed as to how the job is progressing from start to finish. Came in at or below quoted prices. Our floors had been neglected by renters he made them look new again!!!
