Definitely recommend/hire. I first called Reidt Way Doors in the morning and explained my wood garage door (original that is 30+ years old) had come apart and needed replacing. Richard said he could come by for a look later that afternoon. He was the only door company I called that didn't schedule for next day, week, or beyond. Richard showed up around 5pm and had a look at the door. He said that these doors were well made and I could likely fix the top panel, vs buying a whole new door, as the wood had separated but not fractured. After talking through his recommendation (what exactly to undo to remove the panel) I was impressed and going to go that route. Next thing I know he's poking and prodding on the door and he gets the panel pieces to go back into place on the spot. He attaches a steel brace in two areas to hold the top/bottom together, and the door I thought was going to cost me at least a $grand, is now in perfect working order! He also replaced the springs, as one had broken, which caused the issue to begin with.

Richard not only repaired the photoeye for a very reasonable cost. He also moved a track back to where it needed to be and repaired a broken hinge.

This was a great install. Rich was beyond helpful and even helped me find help with some other projects I had going on. The openers are much more than I expected and have all the cool wi-fi features I wasn't even looking for but truly appreciate now that I have them.

Overall this was a terrific experience! Our garage door spring broke on Saturday afternoon and we're now up and running Sunday morning. I had work scheduled with another large mobile garage door company whereas I was unclear who I was working with and couldn't even get a ball park quote for the work. I called Richard after searching Angies list for a local company and resource -- and after seeing the good reviews. First, he actually picked up the phone on a Saturday evening! He helped me to assess my problem, gave me a quote for the work and was super easy to work with. Needless to say I canceled my other appointment and went with Reidt Way Doors. Richard was prompt, courteous, efficient, and professional. He did not try to up-sell me on work and the costs were reasonable for the work performed. I will definitely recommend to others in the future.

Reidt Way Doors did a great job. Richard was quick to respond and installed what seems to be top notch openers that I can open from multiple remotes, a key pad, or my phone! Rich also tuned up my old doors so that they are nearly silent when they open - and he didn't leave until they were as good as they can get. I highly recommend Reidt Way Doors.

Quick and easy to schedule and he even showed up early! I was expecting a costly repair, but all that was needed was some simple maintenance - no attempt to sell me unnecessary work. It is always wonderful to find trustworthy experts in the industry.

Service was fast and efficient. He communicated well - explaining that the prior installation used a coil which was too small for the size of the door. He removed the coils and showed me a comparison before installing. Overall this was a great service call.

Even though it was freezing outside, my driveway is very steep and a little icy, Mr. Reidt braved the conditions and was able to do the work to get my garage door operational again. I called in the morning hoping he could fit me in within the next couple of days and he was at my house by early afternoon. He explained that the previous work on the garage door, before we owned the house, resulted in the wrong, smaller spring being wound too tightly and is the reason it broke. He is very knowledgable about garage doors and clearly enjoys his work. It works great now.

Returned my call within an hour. Would actually have come out after his normal schedule that night, but we decided it could wait till next morning. Was on time, Did a great job, quickly, and definitely knows his stuff. Would recommend and use him again, but hope I don't need to call too often. Great to find someone who cares and does things the reidt way Ha Ha. funny , wonder if his parents planned it that way.

Richard Reidt, came out on a Saturday morning. He showed up exactly on time (actually he came early and waited at our front door). He explained everything to us clearly. Another company we had called had tried to sell us all sorts of packages, and had pointed out 10 different things that needed to be fixed (rollers, hinges...etc.). Richard gave everything a good look and only told us what we really needed fixed. There were some issues with rollers/hinges (we had two squeaky rollers and one broken hinge) - he just replaced it for free. He patiently explained to me all about the springs. He explained how the builders had used assymetric springs of different lengths (and coil size?); which finally had caused the lghter spring to break for us. He explained that instead he would put in two balanced springs which would make it last longer. Richard has been in business for 30 years and knows garage doors inside out. He is local and has installed doors (residential and commercial, small and large hanger doors) all throughout the Seattle area. Ask him about some of his stories (Hint: Sports Stadiums in Seattle area and a certain Football player who lives in Issaquah Highlands). He clearly has a passion for what he does and for helping people. I would recommend him to anyone in a heartbeat. If we or any of our friends ever need repair/installation of garage door - Richard is the only one we would call.

Incredible job! I initially called about a small problem with one of our garage doors but I figured I would get a quote for 3 garage door openers as well. Richard saw the cable hanging from the garage door and started to fix it right away. He also inspected the doors and identified a couple of issues that were causing the problems with the doors. He quoted a price for the garage door openers (3 openers and complete installation). A couple of days later, Richard came back to install the openers and did a great job! In addition to the installs, he made sure all the garage parts were working properly and smoothly. The work was very well done and it is obvious that he takes great pride in providing professional service.

Our garage door broke around 6pm, started calling repair people but most were closed. Left messages with 4 companies, Rick responded with text message the next morning and was able to come out that same day. He was very courteous and professional, job took less than an hour. He gave my daughter and I a quick tutorial on how to safely open/close the door manually, should the power go out, etc. He also fixed the loose wall mounted garage door opener at no extra charge. Would highly recommend Reidt Way Doors.

Richard Reidt is your guy if you're looking for a new garage door, opener, or just looking to service your existing setup. He has many years of experience with garage doors, and is extremely knowledgable about what setup would be best for your situation and price range. He removed our old door, hardware, and opener and installed a whole new setup for us. He arrived right on time, and worked in a very careful but quick manner. You could see that he has installed many doors, and he absolutely knows what he's doing. When he was finished, we had a perfectly working, beautiful new door and a fancy new opener with wi-fi, that makes it possible to open & close the door from anywhere using your smartphone. What a great feature for those times you leave home and get that sinking feeling that you forgot to close the garage door! We couldn't be happier with Richard's service and professionalism. We will definitely be recommending Reidt Way Doors to all our friends and neighbors!

There is a reason Richard has an all A rating. He's the man! I have a very heavy garage door that eventually took its toll on the motor. Richard thoroughly explained our options and recommended the proper system to get the door back in service. Came out to Carnation twice, ran to Tacoma to get the right lift master 3/4 hp unit. Didn't take long to install either. Richard is definitely the go to guy on diagnosing garage door problems and is not a pushy salesman. Really good experience and would highly recommend.

Wonderful-Perfect-Above expectation

Called to schedule an appointment, aligned to our schedules, showed up exactly when he said he would, his price was exactly as he quoted over the phone.   We asked him to fix two of our doors, but since he was on site with his tools, he also fixed - updated our third door.

Service went well.  No problems.

Richard gave me same day service and worked around my work hours.  He explained that the repairs were simple, so he only charged me for the service call, in spite of the fact that he replaced a couple of rollers and all the major bolts.  He was very polite and provided me with information to maintain the integrity of my garage door.  He also gave me additional information in the event I would be considering replacing the door to a sturdier and more reliable system.  Plus, he volunteered to come back in the spring to finish replacing some bolts to improve on the operation of my current door.  I would definitely use him again and was extremely satisfied with the work he performed.  I don't have it in my budget now, but when I decide to upgrade my garage door, I will call on Richard Reidt.

Terrific experience!  Called on a Tuesday morning and he was able to come late Wednesday afternoon.  He was very knowledgeable and explained what had happened and what replacement size/quality he was using.  He recommended replacing both springs, not just the broken one and we agreed.
Would definitely recommend him to any and all who need garage door service or replacement.
A few nights later our next door neighbor told us he had had the same thing happen a few weeks ago and used Reidt Way Doors and was extremely satisfied.  Would also highly recommend this company.
