Affordable Arborist Tree Care inc.

Merret and his crew did a wonderful job. There are many tree services with "affordable" in their name...but this is the one listed on the City of Spokane recommended arborists list. They came on time. They worked hard. They cleaned up to satisfy this picky neat freak. The Sun Locust had been a major focus of our landscape for years and it looked terrible, and we had decided to take it out. Merret convinced us to see what a trim could do and it was amazing. He gave the tree a new lease on life. We are very happy and when we need more trees cared for, I will call him. Very knowledgeable.

Arrived on time 7:45am and worked continuously all day until about 3:30pm.  Professional hard working crew of 3.  Very impressed with speed and efficiency of the job.  Chipped all small trees and left large logs for us.  Great job!

He (Merrit) was prompt and initially courteous. The work he did was done in a timely fashion and adequate. When I arrived in town and went to look at the property, now after the closing, I found a large tree on the property with the trunk partly rotted away, leaning and clearly threatening a neighbors home. I called him to ask about the tree, at first assuming he wasn't finished. He at first denied knowledge of the tree. When I pointed out that the side of the tree toward the back of the property was rotted away he said "I didn't walk around the tree". Despite denying knowledge of the tree, in subsequent comments he seemed to know exactly which tree we were talking about. For example he knew which way it was leaning. He suggested that the fact that it wasn't threatening my home was an argument against taking it out.
If they were not able to recognize this tree as a hazard, they should not represent themselves as tree experts. If they did not disclose the problem because they did not have the skill or equipment to handle it, and they would lose the job if they disclosed it, then they are dishonest. But whether it be due to lack of skill or lack of professionalism, they have cost me a great deal. I could not recommend this company.

They arrived early and made sure they were clear on what services I wanted on each specific tree. They cleaned up all debris.

Arrived on time, finished the work in one day despite the rain. Did a good job of cleaning the yard up afterwards. They were unable to grind the stumps of the two trees on that day due to an equipment problem, but returned as promised the next week and finished up.
The owner, Merritt Sandness is a good man to work with.

They had to work in a tight area / between the house, the fence and the neighbors yard. They did not damage any of the power lines which posed a problem since the branches were touching them or the roof to my house. They were very punctual and did a great clean up job afterwards. They were even kind enough to cut back another tree that was not in the original estimate.
