GFCI replacement was very routine. Confirmed that the was the circuit breaker was not tripped and quickly determined the GFCI unit had failed. Had a replacement with him and had it replaced within about 20 minutes total. Checked that all outlets were now working and that was that.
Since he was here, I asked about my noisy vent fan . He said sure I can take a look at that. Withe the help of his apprentice we lifted the fan out to look at it. He determined that one of the screws that held the entire unit in place was gone causing the unit to move around when running causing the awful noise. Took a bit of time to get a new screw to fit as the threads had been stripped. Before putting it all back together, he cleaned the filter inside. After putting in back in, everything works wonderfully!
The total time for the job was around 2 hours, perhaps a bit less.
I will definitely use him again when the need for an electrician comes around again.
