The install was supposed to be complete in 2 days. It took 7 and we were left without heat in October for 6 of them. The install was defective - pipes weren't attached and we were heating the crawl space for over a month before my husband identified the problem. We purchased on the premise that the system was eligible for a $4000.00 rebate thru PSE. When paperwork was sent to me to fill out, it qualified for $2400.00.

I am thoroughly frustrated by the consistently unreliable customer service provided by BelRed Energy Solutions. Last year, we invested over $30,000 in upgrading our heating and cooling system, during which they left a substantial hole in the wall. Despite their promise to return and rectify the situation, they have failed to follow through. We have made 4 to 5 phone calls reminding them of the outstanding work, yet nearly a year has passed with nothing but empty assurances that someone will contact us promptly.

BelRed installed a new HVAC system in my home around October 2022. 1. The installer had stepped on the unit covers and damaged it (cracks, broken plastic, bent support) and promised a replacement cover for the unit. It is May 2023 and I still have not received it. I have called them about every 2 weeks to check in, with promises that "they'll get right on it" every time I call. Even the manager said the same thing multiple times, with no phone call or any sort of resolution 2. The electric disconnect was not done to code at the time of install, and I could not register/close the permit with the county until 7 months later. The unit technically worked, but it was not up to code. It took more than 10 phone calls for them to contact their electrician to come out and move the disconnect. this was done two weeks ago so it is now resolved. 3. The HVAC unit itself is leaning and not level. After a few months, the unit started to lean over, so I called BelRed to come out and look at the install. After the third call, they sent someone out. The installer called and let me know they are on their way, to which I responded that I was at work and not on premises so I wouldn't be able to discuss the matter with him, but he could go in and check it out, take pictures etc. I was promised a call back the next day. Well, I called them back the next day, and all I got was "we'll get on it and call you back asap". Fast forward two weeks, no call so I call them. "We'll get on it and call you back asap". Fast forward two more weeks, no call so I call them, "we'll get on it and call you back asap". Now I'm here writing this complaint because I have wasted too much of my time on this HVAC unit just trying to get what I purchased. Hope it warns other people about how BelRed handles their customers after install.

I had BelRed a install heat pump. Their estimate was a lot higher than the other bid, but I picked them because I liked the equipment and the installed location was better hidden. Part way through the install, I noticed that the lines were not routed the way we had agreed upon. It turns out there was a mix up on their side. The installer called the head office and they asked me to let the crew continue so that the other techs would not be blocked. They promised they would fix it later, so I said yes. I talked to multiple people afterwards and everyone assured me that it would be taken care of it. Predictably, it's been a month now and they are no longer responding. My act of good faith turned out to be naive. It's clear now that they never intended to fix their mistake. The work cost a small fortune, so it's telling that they still nickled and dimed me. A heat pump is a huge investment so you want it to last. If the installer can't be trusted during the installation, they certainly can't be trusted to deal with any problems or warranty claims down the road.

I could not be more disappointed with my experience and will absolutely never use BelRed again. The AC was out and we needed it repaired quickly. When my service person came out they said that Bob's Heating had incorrectly done the wiring when the house was built (5 years ago) and they "fixed it" along with a fuse. He also said possibly the P trap could be the problem, but he wasn't sure. 2 days later my AC broke again and the same service person came out and said yes, it is the P trap so he replaced it. I had to pay another diagnostic fee, a "difficult entry fee" for the attack, and for the parts. $1000 later my AC works. I should have waited for my appointment with Bob's heating. I will not make that mistake again. Like other reviewers say, he also suggested $2,200 in system enhancements such as surge protectors. efficiency packages, and air scrubber plus. If he would have focused on doing the job right the first time and not finding thousands of dollars of other things I don't need maybe it could have been fixed the first time. Stay away!!!

You know it's not going to be good when your plumber says the reason you're having issues is your fixtures and valves are all cheap and aging and you really ought to replace everything. I had all plumbing fixtures and valves including the master shut-off valve, three toilets, the garbage disposal, and the washer's hoses replaced. In addition they fixed some illegal plumbing in the laundry room and connected the dishwasher to a proper air gap where the instant hot appliance I never used had been (nice idea but it runs dry and fries itself if you don't use it much). Anyway, everything is now high quality that should last for many years to come and is correctly plumbed. I have used BEL RED Energy Solutions for my heating system for many years but I hadn't used them much for plumbing. Since I have always been satisfied with their service I trusted them with this job and I am quite pleased with the results. Richard told me it would take him and his assistant, John, two days with the water turned off all day during the day. He promised to leave me at least one functional bathroom. It actually took closer to a day and a half and everything except the laundry room and one shower (a face plate on back order) were functional that first night. He had to come back later with the missing face plate and a pipe cap which only took a few minutes to install. Richard recommended I not be there while they worked since the water would be off. I was a little reluctant to trust strangers with the contents of my house but, like I said, I have a long term relationship with the company and I got a good vibe from Richard so I put a few things away, rescheduled my days off (it was Thanksgiving week), and took my small electronic devices with me to work. It's been a bit over a month now and I haven't discovered any issues with anything. If I had it to do over, I would do it exactly the same. I highly recommend Richard.

The electrician came on time, and finished the work quickly. I had already purchased replacement units, so I only needed installation. There was about a one week wait to get the electrician out, but I had to find a day I could take off from work, and the trades are chronically under staffed these days. They did a good job and I would definitely use them again

Furnace wouldn't kick on and it was overdue for a cleaning. They cleaned and diagnosed and found circuit board was a bit corroded so due to its age, recommended a whole replacement unit. Sales associate came out to evaluate and recommended very expensive units and lots of add ons and upcharges (house was built in 1957 so it needs lots of things to bring it up to code). Turns out all the furnace needed to kick on was to replace two AA batteries in the thermastat. Granted it is 10 plus years old but it functions normally now. It did need to be cleaned which will help its life span.

Robert P serviced our whole-house standby generator. He was timely, polite, friendly, efficient, and completed the service in no time flat. We are thankful as Robert had serviced our humidifier last year and informed us that Bel-Red could service our generator (previously the only ‘local’ certified service team was quite distant and their price appropriately included a trip charge). Thanks to Robert we saved money and will be using Bel-red from now on to service our generator.

They come check our furnace. They look at the equipment to make sure its okay. We have service every year. We have a contract with them. They do okay. The person that comes out has different levels of experience. Some are excellent and others do the job and that is it. They didn't clean the furnace. They come out when we need them. The people at the company are very nice. I don't know if I would recommend them.

7 years ago, Bel Red recommended a replacement for my then old and tired high efficiency furnace. They sold me an even higher efficiency model which was supposed to eliminate the many reliability issues I had with my old one. I trusted their recommendation, but it turns out they sold me one of the least reliable furnaces on the market. Over the last 7 years it has had 7 major parts failures, two of them twice. Most were covered under warranty and Bel Red did a good job of making that happen....their field people seem to be quite competent and professional. However, when I was told the warranty was now expired and the latest failure would cost me $1100, I decided that wasn't acceptable. Given the track record of annual failures, the future was not hard to predict, but now it would be on me to pay for it. Since this was the second failure of that part and it was only 2 years old, I had hoped Bel Red would get the vendor to cover it, but Bel Red refused to even explore that route and said I would have to pay for the part and labor, or pay for a new furnace. After fully 4 days of waiting in the cold, they finally quoted a new furnace at a price that was only mildly competitive with what other HVAC contractors quoted me. I ended up buying a new furnace from one of those competitors at a much lower price. Bel Red thus lost my trust by recommending a lousy product, and certainly did nothing to make me feel they'll go the extra step to stand behind their products and do the right thing by the customer.
