Ken was excellent to work with from start to finish. Super responsive and took the time to walk me through options for expanding our deck space and recommending materials to use. His crew started and completed the job on time and were considerate of our property and cleaning everything up at the end of the job. Quality work that has held up well after construction. We hired Ken on the recommendation of a friend who had a very positive experience with Decks For You. Ken and Jeff far exceeded our high expectations for quality of work, cost, and schedule. We especially appreciated Ken's recommendations regarding aesthetic aspects of the project, recommending adding accent colors around the deck perimeter and benches and suggesting different dimensions and arrangement changes to the benches and deck perimeter. He was very careful to understand our personal preferences, and then recommend different options for us to select based on his vast experience with previous projects that pleased his customers. He was very careful and frugal, salvaging reusable elements of the old deck so they could be repurposed to provide support to new parts of the deck, and so we had to add almost no new pressure treated lumber to our new deck even though the new deck is slightly bigger with relocated and resized benches. Ken and Jeff finished the job even quicker than I expected, and cleaned up all their work areas so that the deck was ready for my use as soon as they finished without any additional cleanup or restoration on my part. I would HIGHLY recommend Decks For You for any size deck project you have. Thank you Ken and Jeff!

I had seen a negative report on Ken but then I saw his response to it. Having been in construction 50 years ago I know how things work. I asked Ken about that project and he explained what happened. I believed him and hired him to do a deck. I didn't have any plans, just an idea of what I wanted. Ken put together a beautiful, simple deck and my wife and I were very pleased with the outcome.

I have a large deck that connects the two cottages on my property. Ken and his team did a great job. I am disabled and I need to go between the two houses. They built the deck in sections so there was always an easy pathway between the two. They were considerate and very professional. Another five star review for Ken. I would highly recommend him.

Do NOT hire Ken Alexander to do your deck. Very unprofessional, shady and will not stick to the contract. After deciding to hire him, we did not hear from him for almost 2 months, then 1 week before they were supposed to start he sends a contract that is supposed to be signed *asap* thinking I would not actually read it. It was missing half the deck and a gate that we had discussed and when I tried to clarify he was evasive and would not answer any questions but told me he needed the contract signed *asap* again. When I agreed to the contract according to include the entire deck (why would I only replace half of it?) then he said he *would not* be moving forward with our project. Unreal- wasted 2 months of our time and thought he could get away with only doing half the job for the full price. Beware of this *contractor*.

"I did not work for this person, Let me repeat, I did not work for this person. I took no money from them. I canceled, continue reading.......... 20+ yrs in this business, 99.9% of the people I meet are awesome people. Then there is that .1%. I was ready to do this project for this person, emailed the agreement, and asked for a signature. She stalled and stalled. She wanted me to include work worth about $5,000. for free, and that was NEVER mentioned in the estimate, and not included in the agreement. Had I agreed to that, I would end up in the negative for this job. Who among us would work for nothing? Tried to reason but to no avail. Let say I smelled something rotten in the woodpile. I had to do what any prudent business person would do. I canceled. This is a person that wanted something for nothing, when I would not comply, she posted this fake review. My ratings and reviews speak for themselves. I did not just all of a sudden turn into a "shady" contractor. Thousands of decks over the years, never an unsatisfied homeowner. See the truth for what it is. Yes, there "bad" contractors, but there are also bad homeowners that will try to get something for nothing. This is an example of that type of homeowner. I have a right to reject doing business with anyone. I do not work for nothing, you would not either."

My specific project was very unique and I had never ending requests and changes to my existing plan. Ken and his team not only accommodated my changes, I am thrilled with their work. Ken and Jeff were very good. We would hire again. They did turn out to be the lowest bid, but also appeared that they would do a good job. We had bids from $22k (Ken) up to $70k and most around $50k. We ended up at $31k, after we upgraded a rail and lighting. We used Azek 50 with railing and upgraded lighting caps. Ken and Jeff actually started the job before we had planned, were there everyday at 8:30 or when they said, and we did not have to supervise. They had some good suggestions and help in picking out colors etc... I would use again and might for some upgrades I plan on doing in the future

My husband and I asked Gordy to build a custom deck on the lower level of our home to match the upper level deck, and he and his crew did an amazing job! The new deck looks like it was there from the beginning and adds a lot of value to our home. We could not be happier. Ken from Decks For You to built a 17 foot disability ramp with railings and repaired part of a fence. Ken is personable and returned my calls and emails right away. He and his assistant came on time and worked through rain and snow to complete the projects quickly, and on schedule. He followed my designs faithfully and made good suggestions that improved my plans. The quality of his work is excellent both in materials and construction. When he finished, everything was completely cleaned up and the thrash removed. There were no hidden charges. My wife and I are thrilled with Ken's finished product. Very good price and excellent value for the money. I highly recommend Decks For You.

I interviewed 3 contractors to replace an old deck for my son's home in Seattle area, and Ken impressed me as an honest and trustworthy person to work with. He and his two nephews worked about 8 hours a day for over a week and completed the project beautifully. There was a minor adjustment needed to be done afterward and he came back to fix it with no hassle. Highly recommended.

Overall, a great experience from start to finish. I called for information, and my call was returned later that day. Ken came out to discuss options a couple days later, and shared his expertise, opinions, and sent us a quote with options a day later. The communication was good throughout, and the end result is a great new deck that we love, and we feel great about the price we paid for it.

Ken and his crew did a great job of replacing our existing elevated deck. He was very easy to work with and created a deck that was beautiful, while staying within our budget. Came out for a couple of consultations and provided pros, cons and pricing for different options we inquired about. He built the deck while we were out of town and sent us pictures of the progress every day, except at the end so we would be surprised when we got home. We just wish he did fences so we could hire him to replace that as well!

We had a great experience with Ken and his nephews. We had a complicated slope in our backyard, and Ken came up with a very creative way to build a deck that maximizes the space. We hired Ken and his nephews Joe and Jeffery to construct a deck in a very unusual area in our yard. The space was uneven and surrounded by a rock retaining wall, two trees and a stump. We were kind of unsure of the design, but we totally welcomed, accepted and trusted Ken's advise. We had an idea of what we wanted, but what the team did to our backyard far exceeded our expectations. He is truly an artist of his profession. The lines, dimensions, and creativity made our backyard our oasis. The added extra lights for safety were a plus, . Their professionalism was excellent -- on time, respectful to our yard and our family. Was a pleasure to have them here. Very thankful we chose Decks for You. Thank you!!
