Complete Plumbing Repair Co

We had a leaking pipe. Our regular plumber was on a job and I saw Complete Plumbing's name on our old water heater. I called Complete Plumbing and they were able to respond immediately. My wife (we are seniors) was at home alone. The plumber that came was very nice. He spent over 40 mins trying to talk her in to buying a $89.95 membership to get discounts that day and in the future. She declined. All this time the pipe is leaking. He quoted her $400.00 and not knowing what had to be done, she signed the agreement. The work itself took about an hour and there were about $15.00 in materials. The work was well done and he cleaned up. I called the following day and complained about paying $400.00 for an hours work. I was told that they were a job based plumber and that was the price in the manual. I asked to speak to the owner. He was out of town, but, did send me a letter a week later. He also stated that they were a job based agency and would not offer any discount. I will never use this agency again. I called our regular plumber and asked his price. He is $76.00 an hour. I called another agency and got a price of &81.00 and hr. I posted this in our community clubhouse and have already gotten two calls from people looking for a plumber thanking me for the warning.

I dumped a cereal bowl full of baking soda that I had in the frig down the kitchen drain and didn't realize it'd go through the pipes and create a blockage. (Duh...) My husband and I couldn't get it unplugged so we called Complete Plumbing Repair. The plumber explained that the charge would be double if he tried to unblock the pipes that run from our kitchen sink, and it wasn't blocked, then had to go further down the "pipeline" to try to unblock it again. We had never heard of this. Usually a plumber just comes out and does the job and gives you a bill for their time. Well, the guy couldn't figure out where the best place to try to unblock it would be -- so he wouldn't have to try twice -- so he left it up to my husband. Based on the evidence my husband chose to unblock the pipes further down the line, and he was right. That was one expensive dumb thing I did but I was glad my smart husband figured it out and it wasn't double!!! We agreed that we would not call this company again. That could've been a $586 plumbing bill to clear a drain!!!
