Switch Electric LLC

Our house was built about 1978, and the panel has not really been serviced since it was originally wired. Last fall we had the main buss connecting the panel with the meter fail due to corrosion. The buss was replaced, but we knew that the panel itself needed updating. In the March of this year there was a "big deal" offered from Switch Electric. We purchased the deal, but didn't get to actually having the service scheduled until the first week of July. The service call was scheduled for 7 days later. Two very experienced and professional electricians came, and within an hour and a half, everything was done and power was turned back on. We have several heaters in the house that will need replacing before winter. There is no question but that we will be calling Switch Electric to do that work.

They were a little late, but not to bad. They did call to let us know that they had encountered some traffic. They said that the whole house inspection would include looking at the panel and inspection of all switches, plugs and testing the GFI plugs. They did look at the panel. Other than that they walked the house turning light switches on/off. They never looked at a single plug or tested any of the GFI plugs. They seemed more interested in the noise of the bathroom fans and if they could sell us on a replacement of the fan. They did spend time talking to us about the issues we had when running our generator and that the generator should probably have it's converter inspected/replaced. As for getting the quotes, they promised to get back to me in a couple days. We never heard from them. The inspection was a complete waste of time and money.

Technician arrived very promptly, diagnosis was fast and accurate, repairs were made and problem solved in short order.

Dispather and plumber were very helpful and professional- offered advice and answered questions on a number of plumbing questions.

I found them on Angie's List after having sudden, significant electricity problems (AFCIs were both tripping, internal lights were flickering). I called Switch and described the problem. They said their first suggestion was to have the power company put a recorder on my meter. If the problem was with the city's power feed, it would be their responsibility to fix. Switch said the power company should do this diagnosis for free, rather than me paying Switch to do the same thing. By being honest and upfront, Switch saved me money (and they didn't get the job). It was the power company's problem, and they fixed it. I didn't need Switch for this job, but I will certainly call them back if/when I do need an electrician!

We worked with a gentlemen named Jeremy. The pricing was competitive. He offered opinions about modifications to the design that were improvements. They did a good job and on time. We would give Jeremy top marks across the board.

Jeremy and his team came in and took care of all that was quoted in a timely and professional manner. My husband who is a techie was impressed with their performance and I was happy that there was no mess just a quick and timely installation. We would not hesitate to use them again. They were also the most economical quote we got on this project.

Scheduled an appointment for an estimate and they called after they were about a half hour late to tell me that they were having troubles with their vehicle. Once they arrived the estimate went fine. Work was scheduled and they showed up on time and did the back yard lights and the closet lights. The electrical box in the Master Bedroom was not done due to time constraints. They charged me more than the original estimate, yet did not get all the work done. I called and talked with the owner and he agreed to do the rest of the work free of charge. Another appointment was scheduled for the final work. They showed up an hour early, but that was not a problem, and finished the work.

It went very well. Switch was timely, helpful, and pleasant to have in our home and to work with. They are also very savy with communication technology which make scheduling and contacting them very easy. We are very pleased with their work and will contact them first for future electrical work.

I thought it was expensive, but they're very good.

It turned out great. What I thought was a bigger problem turned out just to be a halogen bulb not being put in place correctly.

They were great and fast. They also are clean, friendly and punctual. There are no hidden extra fees; they were upfront about what they were going to do for us and they explained all of this before they even came to our house. They have very good communication skills. I am already thinking about other things I need done in the future.

Switch sent out two electricians. It took them five minutes to know what the trouble was and fifteen minutes to rewire two outlets. Problem solved. I have recommended them and if needed I will call them again.

This is the third or forth job we have had Switch Electric do for us. They are always very prompt in when they arrive. They answer all of our questions, do excellent work and give us a reasonable cost. I am planning on having them do some more work for us soon, and will recommend them to anyone else who has electrical needs.

They did an excellent job despite the old electrical wiring conditions of our house. Jeremy and crew were very professional. They arrived on time. They came in, put their booties on and off to work they went. They completed the job... it was well done and the living room is nice and bright. Gone are the days of lighting the house with just lamps. I was grateful for their concerns they had about the old electrical wiring and explained some the dangers that may occur. Excellent! Really impressed. Arrived 30 minutes ahead of time, which was perfect for us. They will return to do one of the projects on June 14th.

For the estimate, Switch Electric gave me multiple options for the service upgrade and broke out the cost of the house rewiring so that I could pick and choose what I wanted done. I decided to upgrade my 1955, 1500 square foot home to 200A service from 100A and rewire the entire house since none of the outlets were grounded. The work took 5 days to complete. Jeremy and Joe worked very hard and were very courteous. They were joined by 2 other employees when they were available to help out. On nights where part of our house had to be left without power, they let us borrow extension cords to get power where we needed it. Everyone also did a great job cleaning up at the end of each day. On the last day, 3 of the guys stayed very late to get the job completed before the weekend which was tremendously appreciated. We haven't had any issues since the work was completed, and I will be using Switch Electric for any future electrical projects. The price reflects a 20% off coupon for Angie's List members.

Corey and Aaron were great! We had a noon appointment and that's when they arrived, much better than having an appointment window. We live in an old house so we have a plaster and lathe ceiling with virtually no attic. This made the installation of can lights almost impossible but Corey was able to offer a creative solution that works perfectly for our needs. Instead of the 4 can lights that we'd requested, they installed 4 track lights, including an elbow turn in the track so that they aren't all lined up along one wall. This gives us the ability to place lights just where we need them and he did it for the same price as the Big Deal we had purchased. Corey wasn't pushy about his idea so we could have cancelled and asked for a refund but we're very pleased with their work. They also were punctual, polite, and prepared and cleaned-up after themselves superbly.

Failed to return three separate calls

Switch Electric came out straight away, but he said "This tubing isn't the right size," and I had to fill in the blank for him, and said "Ok, Ok, I'll do it later." I put in the original fan about 12 years ago and it was worn out. You have to ventilate it through a vent in the roof, so in order to ventilate it out he would have had to get in the crawl space to do it, and he wasn't interested in doing that. I just said I would do it, which I still have to do. He seemed to do a good job, but I'd hate to think there's a bunch of mold up in my attic because I didn't get to it right away. It's been a year, probably. I didn't think it was a $250 fan, so I'm not real happy about the price. I didn't know whether the venting was my problem or his responsibility. I would assume if you are installing a fan, the ventilation is part of the job, so I don't think that was very professional. I bailed him out, because I said I would do it. He'd have to go get the tubing, or I'd have to go get it or something. I was kind of busy. I didn't end up knowing anything about what was supposed to happen. He didn't follow through and finish the job.
