Switch Electric LLC

We have had a *lot* of work done on our small, long-neglected home, and I would say without hesitation that Switch Electric has been one of the very best contractors we have worked with. Joe responded to my request for a quote inside of 24 hours, and talked through an estimate over the phone (which was then solidified with an actual home walk-through, but getting that quick idea was SO helpful). They were able to schedule us for this fairly major bunch of work within about 3 weeks after we decided to go ahead, and even gave us a discount for moving quickly. Joe was spectacular about communications before, during, and after the job, always answering my (admittedly many) questions extremely promptly - often immediately. They warned us in advance that living in our house during the two days the job took would be like camping, and they weren't lying. (We were glad we took them at their word - in fact, we set up a tent in the backyard and slept there.) They showed up precisely when they said they would, and finished on time, if not early. The first day they ripped everything out (and in the process found many terrifying ghosts of wiring decisions past - making us all the more glad to be doing the work); the second day they put it all back together. And amazingly, they managed to rewire the whole place with almost zero drywall damage (except where receptacles and things had to be moved, as well as one ceiling issue that wasn't their fault, which I'll get to in a minute). So that was a minor miracle. Still, a lot of contractors can do quality work - what really set Switch apart in my mind was how they dealt with the snafus and issues that arose as the job proceeded. On the first day, Joe realized we'd miscommunicated about how much work was needed in the kitchen. Rather than jacking up the price (as he would have been within his rights to do), he tacked on the cost of the extra materials (a few hundred dollars), but otherwise stuck by his bid. On the second day, we came home from breakfast to discover a mountain of cellulose in the kitchen - the ceiling had fallen in. Turns out some idiot had used 1/8" drywall (is that a thing??) to do that ceiling; it was about as fragile as wrapping paper. Joe & his team clearly felt bad that it happened, and were awesome about helping us clean it up and get it patched to a point that we can live with until we get around to fixing it for real. Icing on the cake: the three of them were just **** pleasant to have around. They were even sweet with our dog, who totally loved them. I can't say I hope to have any more electrical work done any time soon, but when next we do, I would happily work with Switch Electric again.

They were fantastic. I got several bids on this project plus they had a coupon on Angie's List which I utilized. I added in some other work besides the electrical panel as well and I was extremely pleased with them. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them. The lead installer for my project was Bryan and he was fantastic. I added some work to it. They were able to demonstrate and show me there were things which definitely needed to be, it wasn't just a straight swap out of the electrical panel. I had just bought the house so there's always some hidden things. They had to move some feeder wire that was not up to code and the meter base. But that was fine because I knew exactly what it was. If I have future stuff I will call them without a doubt.

I couldn't have asked for a better job. I would hire them again in a heartbeat for any electrical work around my house.

They were very good. I believe I got them from Angie's List. One person came to complete the job and it took a half hour to 45 minutes. The interesting is that it happened to be someone that lived down the street from us when he was a little boy. The cost was pretty minimal. It was excellent. It was a good price, prompt, and no problems at all. They left the area totally clean. They came when they were suppose to. They did their job and the price was great. It was the whole package and very professional. He was a very personable, capable, and professional young man. I have recommended them to others. I would absolutely use them again.

Let's start at scheduling. Switch makes this so easy that I could do it. :) I simply went to their website and scheduled an estimate for my project. It was simple but if I wanted to I could have called. Oh, a great thing about them is that they have a dedicated person who answers calls so none of that "you get the guy in the middle of a job" non-sense who may or may not be able to help you right then. On to the job itself. They were very prompt about starting and even completed the entire job in less time than estimated (2.5-3 days estimated, actual 2). My house had some on site issues that they quickly spotted and worked around. In fact, they would have finished even faster if not for the issues with my house preventing work in the crawl space. Everything about their work screams "professional" and "quality" which is exactly what you want to see from someone running electricity through your home. Once completed the billing process is just as smooth as everything else. Since they are so communicative I didn't see anything suddenly "appear" on the final bill that I didn't agree to or know about beforehand. Even better, they can take payment on site, over the phone, or even online. I literally cannot recommend them enough! Call them up today if you have an electrical project you need done!

We have used Switch Electric 3 times before and trust them. They did a great job, were very professional and friendly.

It went well -- my experiences interacting with the staff have been positive, and they were very thorough in the work being done.

The outlet was replaced in the garage. The electrician left our tenant's freezer unplugged, which the tenant discovered 3 days later. After I called the office, Switch electric contacted our tenant and sent him money to compensate for lost food. The flickering light was due to the tenant using the wrong type of bulb in a lamp. The charge was $160 for the service call. Very pricey, as that is their minimum charge. Maybe it's not possible to pay less $160 for a 15 minute call. I will check on other options next time I need a minor electrical problem repaired.

After some checking I hired Switch and the rewire was scheduled. It was completed in 4 days & they did excellent work with far less wall damage then I was expecting & even handled our curious cats . Besides a rewire they added new lighting to 2 rooms & a carport, added a fan to a bathroom & upgraded the panel and many outlets capacity. A very good experience on our end & enjoyed being kept in the loop. Highly recommend.

Tyler, Jeremy & Brett were very professional. Tyler got right back to us & even rescheduled earlier for us. They did excellent work. We were very pleased with their work & with them as people. Highly recommend them.

Tyler, from Switch, gave me a great bid for completing the rewire project AND for newly wiring/installing switches and lights for our remodeled basement. Jeremy and Brent were top notch. They did minimal damage to the plaster walls; consulted and offered suggestions about how best to proceed; spoke with me directly and clearly whenever there was a misunderstanding. And, they came back in good time to troubleshoot and fix a problem. They worked quietly and efficiently as a team. I’ll be calling Switch for any of my electrical needs.

I was very impressed by Joe Schlegel and his crew. They were very knowledgeable, competent and efficient. Joe answered lots of questions, made good recommendations, and was very responsive both when on site as well as to email or phone calls. The entire team was very professional in their interactions with us and checked frequently to be sure our needs and expectations were being met. This was a big job done in stages with the initial re-wiring followed by drywall and painting after which Switch came back to do the final install of fixtures, switches, cover plates, etc. They were very accommodating in removing old wiring and some old security lights that were under high eaves on the exterior of the house. I was very satisfied with their work and can highly recommend them for similar work without reservation.
