1st crew came out and couldn’t deal with my roof so they had to reschedule another week out. 2nd crew did a great job and got it done. Happy with the outcome... very neat install, operates perfectly. I’m going to add a remote control next week.

Wonderful service. They arrived early but called ahead to check if it was okay ... it was. Friendly, professional service. They went right to work and got 'er done. Then they explained everything to me and asked me if I had any questions ... which I did ... which they answered. They even laughed at my joke about Finnish speed-metal polka music. All pros, no cons. I'll call 'em again in a heartbeat the next time my stove needs some TLC. The service was at my home but I don't want my address listed.

We were having a problem finding a contractor to build the framing for a new gas fireplace. Carl found us a contractor, who did an excellent job building the fireplace frame, the tile work, and mantel. Carl handle the ordering of the stove, mantel and gas installation. Everything went as planned and everyone was very professional. Thanks to all involved at Monroe fireplace.

Overall a very good experience; a few things to note though;

We walked into the store and the sales person was very helpful; no pressure just there to help, which is exactly the way I like it;

So we found the stove we wanted and he helped us with all the options; We paid in full; about $ 4,600; He informed us that we'll need to contact a propane distributor to get a tank set and filled which was fine; he gave us a couple of recommendations.

 Everything great so far;

A few weeks or so later one of their guys came to our house to do a walk through to figure out the installation. He was very professional and helpful; At one point he asks where the nearest outlet is to the fireplace location; I ask why? He says so they have somewhere to plug in the stove; I look at him funny and ask him why would we be plugging in the stove to an outlet; won't it be hard wired? "not according to the paperwork"; I then informed him that I would be shocked if someone would spend this kind of money on a fireplace insert and then allow an extension cord to be used to plug it in; he said it does happen; So he let me know that I'll need to swing by the store and buy a $ 58.00 hard wiring kit for the stove; This worried me that I was about to be nickel and dimed to death on the project; As it turns out this was the only bump in the road; The original sales guy needs to be trained to always ask about how the customer wants the power done; I don't care about fifty eight dollars on a 5,400 dollar project but it would have been nice to just include it in the beginning;

The installers showed up today and were fantastic; very professional and helpful; installed the stove and gas piping through the crawl space and did a great job; cleaned up after themselves and then explained how everything works; they were great;

So in the end I would use Monroe Fireplace and Stove again, but would be sure to ask questions such as the wiring which should have been part of their normal presentation.

Update 4/10/2015; the stove started having some vibration issues; I called Monroe Fireplace and they were great; they sent a guy right out whom diagnosed the problem and recommended replacing both fans; they ordered the parts and then sent another tech out to do the work; it went great; a true test of a company is when things go wrong and how they handle it; they did a great job and I am now elevating their review to A+.

Great price and installation. Took some time to have the installation scheduled though but I guess that it is a good sign that they are that busy. I was impressed that they came out and inspected the existing fireplace before coming to install the insert (several places that we talked to refused to do an pre-inspection)

We have two fire places one upstairs and one downstairs. We had the fireplace ready for Christmas. We had shopped around and we were happy with them. I cant think of anything to fault them on. Though I don’t remember what we paid. As a matter fact my wife took care of it. We have a strange chimney with a unique insulation and we have a fireplace for the master bedroom. It is called the cockles’ fireplace. It is interesting that the man and woman who own MONROE FIREPLACE and STOVE INC came out to the house and took pictures. It was fun. It was an interesting experience.

I must have gone to every wood stove sales outlet in the North Seattle area looking for a good buy to replace my old Lopi stove of over 21 years. Monroe Fireplace proved to have the best price and were easy to deal with. A person came out to confirm they job and we discussed what would be needed. He recommended I get the chimney cleaned before the install which proved to be wise. The installer showed up on time after calling before hand. He was very competent and made short work of the install including the high chimney we have. he had to run an insert down the chimney which is free standing above the roof. Not a problem for him. All and all a pleasant experience.

They arrived at the agreed-upon time and started right away to work. First, they installed the chimney in the shop, which has a 16-foot ceiling. The estimator has said that the crew would arrive with a rented 16-foot ladder, but that didn't happen. Fortunately, I had a 28-foot extension ladder that they were able to use because the shop ceiling hadn't been fully drywalled yet, and so they could prop the ladder against the rafters. However, the cost of the ladder rental was subtracted from the invoice they gave me. When they entered the house to remove the wood stove, they were respectful of things and were careful. They left it as clean as it was when they arrived. The two of them somehow managed to move that very heavy stove (~450 pounds) to the shop without damaging anything. Before they left, they showed me some things about my woodstove that I didn't know, which was helpful. It's been about two weeks since they finished the job with no signs of any moisture or leakage where the chimney penetrated the shop roof. They did a quality job, but the price seemed a little high, given that it was only a half-day's work for two men and they materials weren't very expensive.

SHOPPED AROUND AT SEVERAL SHOPS AND ON LINE FOR A GAS FIREPLACE THAT WAS ALSO RATES AS A HEATER. THE BRAND WE DECIDED TO PURCHASE WAS ONE OF THE PRODUCTS MONROE FIREPLACE SOLD IN THEIR SHOWROOM. WE WERE ABLE TO SAVE SEVERAL HUNDRED DOLLARS BUYING THE MODEL THE SHOWED AT THE FAIR. THE PERSON THAT WAS SENT TO INSTALL THE 2 FIREPLACES, DID THE WORK VERY QUICKLY AND VERY PROFESSIONAL. HAD THE FIREPLACE S FOR A COUPLE OF YEARS. GREAT JOB

THRILLED. THE WHOLE EXPERIENCE WAS TERRIFIC. THE WORKERS WERE ON TIME, CONSCIENTIOUS, HARD-WORKING AND COOPERATIVE. NO LONG LUNCH BREAKS HERE! RESPONSIVE ON THE PHONE, CAME BACK FOR FOLLOW-UP ON MY REQUEST. AM PLEASED WITH OUTCOME.
