Our experience with David was absolutely fantastic! We'd been looking for a house for about a year and had already dealt with one pushy agent by the time we contacted David. From the very beginning, David wanted to hear about US: what we wanted and why, how much we wanted to spend, what we hadn't liked about our last place, what we wanted our future to be like. We had some very specific criteria that we were looking for in a home but David never pushed us to increase our price or told us we were being too picky. He was always respectful, always listening, always patient, always upbeat, always reminding us that something new would come on the market next week. And guess what? IT DID! And when that perfect house got 8 other offers in 2 days, it was David's insight and expertise that helped us craft the winning bid. We love our new home and couldn't be happier with our experience with David. His insight was invaluable as we traveled the long road to home ownership but it was especially critical in those hours while we finalized our offer and waited to hear the outcome. David did an analysis of our neighborhood and surrounding home for sale to help us come up with the right strategy to sell our home in a timely manner.  We were pleased to have a fair offer in a short time.  We also needed to find a new place and David was thorough in his research of homes that met our search criteria and locations.  After finding out what a lot of other potential buyers were at the time, there was little to no inventory and most of what was available was in undesirable locations (next to the freeway) or had been on the market for 6 months and was not worth looking at!  We eventually started looking into new construction, as there was little hope of finding what we wanted or we'd get caught in a bidding war for the home we would be happy in.  We eventually found a great location and the builder had a plan we really liked.  David went the extra mile in securing us the largest lot in the neighborhood (wasn't available at the time) and the builder agreed to everything we put on our purchase and sale agreement(WOW)!  During construction, David came to the worksite often and checked on the progress.  For example, after talking with the superintendent on the site one day, they agreed with David that the existing fence should come down and moved back a few feet in order to give us more usable space on the property.  During final walk through, David was very helpful in pointing out issues the builder should be addressing prior to us accepting the property.  We couldn't be happier with our home and with David's instrumental guidance through the whole process (selling and buying).  I'd rate him, our experience and his professionalism an A+.

David Fairwell is simply an outstanding real estate agent. He was able to get us top dollar for our house in a down market, and helped us find the house we now live in and love. The whole process was so well orchestrated that we were able to simply carry on with our lives, knowing that the details were under control and our best interests were looked after. David had a deep knowledge of the local market, always communicated clearly and openly, and was masterful in negotiations on either side of the two transactions.

David came to our home on a Sunday afternoon so we could all discuss any home improvements we needed to make before putting our current home on the market. After showing him the home, we all sat down to talk. I told David how impressed I was with the client reviews I had read about him. His clients all seemed to really love him and all said fantastic things about him. One thing David told me was that he is very honest with his clients, and sometimes TOO honest. He told us that he thinks being too honest has actually hurt him in business because he sometimes tells people things they don't want to hear.  I didn't think much of that statement until later. My fiance and I then shared with David how I had moved into my fiance's home where he had lived for many years and our desire to get a NEW home that would be OURS together.
After talking for several hours and getting to know us, David seemed to get "painfully" honest with us too. I can't explain everything he said, or what the personal details were surrounding the discussion. What I can say however, is that we felt David stepped over the line from realtor, to therapist. What he recommended sounded more like what a therapist would tell you, rather than what a realtor would. After David left, my fiance and I were really taken aback. We really didn't know what to make of what David had said to us. The bottom line was that we felt David had not just been painfully honest with us, but something much more. He had overstepped his bounds by saying things that weren't his place to say. It was inappropriate for him to make suggestions about our personal lives and it offended us. We were looking for a realtor, not a therapist.
We never talked to David again after that day. We were both too upset to re-connect with him. It's really a shame too, because I do think he is a really nice man and really knows real estate.  He just needs to stop being "painfully" honest with his clients and stick to real estate.

I met David at an Open House and although I did not purchase the house he was showing, he helped me find and purchase the home that I wanted. He took down my information, asked questions regarding what I was looking for in a home, and by the same evening I already received an initial email from him and some listings that fit within the needs that I had. We were not immediately ready to purchase but he was ready to show us houses the day after I phoned him to let him know we were ready. We decided on the house that we wanted and he immediately go things rolling for us. He helped us make a fair offer and on July 4th the offer was accepted. Although David was away for the holidays, he was readily available by phone and worked out getting papers signed by phone. He made everything simple and easy to understand. Any time I had questions along the whole process, he was ready to answer.  He even made a very good recommendation for a lender that he knew and trusted and this lender made everything happen quickly and efficiently. Everything was signed for and closed on time! David made both my husband and myself feel at ease through what could have been a very stressful time in the whole process of purchasing a house. I would recommend him 100% to anyone looking to purchase or sell a house. His personality and real estate knowledge is top notch.  Even though the sale went through over 6 months ago, he is still playing the role of my agent by ensuring follow up work gets down that was promised during the time of purchase. He didn't just make the sale and move on... he is obviously very passionate about his clients and his work.
