THE SIXTH MAN LLC

When we first moved onto Mercer Island, we knew no one and had gotten three recommendations for interior painters for the home we had just bought.  The Sixth Man was not the cheapest bid by far, but we were promised that there would be 3 painters onsite working on painting the entire interior and that the job would take a week or less to finish.  We were initially impressed by the level of service and quality promised.  Sixth man did not deliver.  Why am I writing this review five years later?  Because every day I have to look at the poor quality paint job they performed, and more new discoveries about how bad it really is come up all the time.  Here are examples of why I am writing this review:
1.  Not only was there not 3 painters on the job, often there was only one.  The job took two and a half weeks to complete (by the way the house was vacant and we were waiting to move in once the paint was dry), 2.5 times as long as quoted.
2.  The painters chose to rinse their paint brushes in the bathroom sinks - we found this out after the job was done and the sinks were backing up.
3.  The paint was brushed on so thickly around the doors and door jambs that the doors stick, and the paint has now come off.
4.  Evidence of drip marks everywhere.
5.  Surfaces were not properly prepared, especially on the trim around the windows, and now it is peeling off.
6.  Sand was used in the paint to cover over imperfections in the walls, and it was applied inconsistently and so consequently there are patches with a lot of sand and some with none at all.  We made it clear when Sixth Man and Adam initially came out to bid that we wanted some drywall repairs done.
7.  Poor or non existent masking prior to painting - many of the door hinges and face plates were painted over, as were several screws that were in the walls.
When the job was done, we called Adam to come and visit us and show him the drip marks and poor paint preparation and told him our unhappiness with having one painter versus the three that were promised and how long it took to do the job.  He didn't offer any apologies or offer to give us any of our money back or even offer to come and fix it.  As time goes on, as mentioned above, the evidence of a job extremely poorly done remains.  We plan to redo the entire house by ourselves to fix it.  I am writing this because I want others to know that we were RIPPED OFF!
