They are really good. They are cats only so you don't have to worry about other animals, they are really friendly, and they really know their stuff. I tried another place, and they didn't seems like they really cared about my cat.

First off let me say this place is run professionally, but at the same time everyone here is really nice. You can really tell they care about animals. As this was my first time here I was nervous. You always try to pick the best place for your pets, and I honestly didn't think I'd get it right on the first try. Lucky for my cat and I; I did!
The staff greeted me upon arrival and was ready to seat me in the back (made an appointment). After a while I meet Dr. Gary Marshall and his staff. They fully answered all of my questions as the day went on. I was there for a checkup on my cats kidney disease condition. Dr. Marshall took some blood work, and followed up with me the next day describing what the results meant. This doesn't mean he gave me a couple sentences; no he gave a real description over everything in terms a non-medical person could understand and answered all follow up questions.
The end results of this trip, I have a new game-plan for keeping my cat healthy as long as possible. Thanks to Island Cats I no longer have to use expensive medicine to keep her stomach from acting up. The over the counter medication works just fine (saving me money I love it), and I cannot recommend this place enough.

Dr. Marshall and his staff are unfailingly prompt, courteous, empathetic, and knowledgeable. Petey had a growth on his paw. Dr. Marshall explained all my options: wait and see, biopsy then do surgery if needed, or just remove it. He gave me all the information I wanted and let me make the decision and was respectful of my choice. Petey wasn't too happy with the bandage and managed to get it off even while wearing the e-collar. They didn't charge me to replace it and the technician re-did it 3x while I waited to ensure she'd found the right balance between tight enough to stay on but not so tight as to cut off circulation.
A couple times, there have been other veterinarians working in that office either as partners with Dr. Marshall or covering for him while he was away. They also were terrific.
Even when I've had to take Petey to a different vet (he was injured late at night and we had to take him to the emergency clinic in Issaquah), Island Cats called the next business day to check on him and make sure all our questions and concerns had been addressed.
Dr. Marshall stays up to date and lets us know when new treatment options are available but doesn't pressure us one way or the other. He gives us the pros and cons and lets us decide. If we're nervous because it's new, that's fine. If we're excited to try the new thing, that's fine too.
When Petey had zits on his chin that just kept coming back, one of the technicians pointed out that sometimes germs get trapped in plastic cat fountains and you just cannot clean them sufficiently. She recommended a ceramic cat fountain. It didn't seem like the likely culprit since Lucy drank out of the same fountain with no zits but replacing the plastic with ceramic did indeed solve the problem!
I was most grateful to Island Cats when we had to put Camir down. She was old (21 or so) and it was time - she was in pain and had lost control of her bowels and reasonable treatments weren't helping. We'd had to put down a cat who was dying of cancer when we were using a different vet and it was an awful experience. Dr. Marshall and staff made it as positive an experience as it could be.

I had a cat that had leukemia. They researched the condition and even got medicine from a different vet and picked it up themselves. They didn't charge me to go pick it up. They are very nice and accomodating. The technicians and vets are very good. We've been going there for about 8 years.

As well as could be expected under the circumstances.

I was pretty sure that my cat's not eating was due to dental problems, but I took her to Dr. Marshall's office for a checkup to rule out anything else. He performed a very thorough examination to verify that it was a dental problem. Island Cats is an extremely clean, cat-friendly clinic. They take kitty's temperature by using an electronic device on her ear, NOT the usual intrusive (ouchy!) method. I have used Island Cats on and off since they opened in 1996, and they have always provided absolutely top-notch care. In addition to the excellent DVMs, I also find the vet techs to be extremely professional and thorough. Their prices are excellent. The only reason I used other clinics was because of their availability (open later during the day, and also on Saturdays). Island Cats keeps pretty traditional office hours, which can make it more difficult for working people to bring in kitty. However, the quality of care is worth it. The quality of care received at the "other place" (open longer hours etc.) wasn't acceptable.

I have been really happy with them. The doctors in the office and the staff are extremely friendly. They are gentle and sympathetic when it comes to end of life issues.

I don t remember the exact price for this service, but I thought they were reasonably priced. The place is very clean and the staff works well with the animals. They do seem easy to get an appointment with as well.

They are wonderful, fast, and loving. They never pushed any of their products on me. I really appreciate that. They are always very good with my cat.
