Premier Fence Inc

After receiving a few bids I decided to go with Premier Fence. The bids were pretty similar and Premier was very easy to work with. After signing the contract Premier worked with my schedule for the removal and install. The crews arrived as promised and were very motivated and friendly. They addressed questions from neighbors and finished the job quickly. They did not leave any mess behind and the finished product looks fantastic.

The crew arrived on time and were very courteous and professional. They were very helpful and agreed to a change order at the first appointment when they were removing the old fence and setting the posts. The foreman agreed to change the height of the fence along the front of the property and put in a change order which was very kind at the last minute. We chose the option to have the fence pre-stained which was a very good choice, it came out very nicely. Their office staff was very friendly and helpful during this whole process which included a different fence design than they usually do.

It took me three months to get a bid and about two months to get the fence. Their work was excellent, and they showed up when they said they would, it's just you had to wait. The price was right with everybody else. They do great work; their work is fabulous. From the time I got the bid to the time the fence was done it was about four months, so it's a little bit of a wait. But, if you want them to do what they say they're going to do then you just wait. We replaced one section of the fence that hadn't been completed because it was a rental on that side.

This provider installed the 100 feet of fencing at an increased price.  Although they completed 5 total lines of fencing and 3 total gates to side by side houses, the price of the shared 100 feet was considerably more than the rest of the project.  The price of the shared 100 feet ended up at 23% more.  When questioned on this and asked why the cost was not the same as the rest of the project, they stated that the access and build was more difficult.  No other bids or fence contractors had a similar view.   My view is that Premier Fence is at the higher end of total cost. They use a Pre-stained cedar to sell to customers, which is the primary reason they were selected in this case, even though the cost was more.  I suggest you have another company install the fencing and stain the fence yourself and save considerable.  If you need it to match, Premier Fence will sell 5 gal of stain at approximately $110 per gallon.  

All this being said the fence went in ok and I believe the final product was no better or worse than another company would perform.  The follow up to the project completion was poor.  To my knowledge upon completion there was no review or inspection of the work site.  The fence needed one board replaced and to have onsite old post removed.  It should be noted this was completed without question once brought to their attention, so that was good.  There was also broken above ground sprinkler and above ground crushed 4 inch drain.  The sprinkler, at the start of the job was disconnected from the old fence, by myself with the Foreman at my side.  By the end of the day I was informed by the same foreman that it was broken off underground.  I was mistakenly under the impression it would be fixed.  That night I covered everything remaining of importance and had no further damaged items.  Upon job completion I fixed the sprinkler and replaced the crushed drain.  I called and asked for $25 off the total bill to fix those items.  They then ignored my calls for a couple weeks and when pushed on the issue I got an email stating, “The fence line is a construction area with a lot of heavy traffic up and down both sides” the email went on to say they only notify the owner, and take no responsibility.  I feel the follow up was poor and inadequate and could have been resolved to customer satisfaction quite easily and was not.  My rating for this company is based on the inflated higher cost and the poor customer attention at the end of the job.

They were very knowledgeable and if we had questions we would stop them in the middle of their work. They would stop and answer them for us. They were very helpful and very friendly. If there was any question that they couldn't answer, they would call the office and get an answer right away.

The rep made an estimate in person. We wanted black chain link fencing and Premier was the only supplier which had it in stock - others had to special order at additional cost. The crew set the posts one day and several days later installed the fencing. The only thing some might consider a drawback was wait between estimate and installation, due to scheduling. Professional crew, headed by Doug, and true to estimate.

They only offer quality products and then they were able to stand by for a 5 year guarantee for their work. We appreciated that they wanna offer cheap products and if you wanted something cheaper then they couldn't answer their approval on it for their guarantee so we just know that they stand by their high quality product. They're a little expensive than other companies but they have guarantees on it which I appreciate. They recently upgraded to financing options which makes more convenient for home improvement projects which was great. They're a booked out a little bit so that was like the one downfall. They just kind of told me there were lots of people are using their service and believe in their product.

Hiring this company was the worst decision I ever made. My advice to you, if you choose to hire them: Hire an attorney at the same time. Boy do I wish I had! Hiring one now. Hope it's in time. Pray for me! (I don't want to lose the home I have for my baby girl, named after my late brother who helped us fix up the home. I painted her walls with clouds and sheep and and quot;Sweet Dreams Josephine.and quot; I'm afraid Premier Fence will cost us our home and put my family on the street, because we were fool enough to do business with them.)

They had really bad customer service and follow up. They made a mistake in putting up the fence. The stake in the ground that held the gate was not correct so the gate would not stay closed. I had to call and call, never heard back. Finally I heard back from them and they got the gate fixed but it was not until at least three months after they completed the orginal project.

However, I did feel that the installers did a good job and were professional. The mistake just should have been delt with more promptly.

Working from dimensions I gave them, Premier Fencing put together a parts list and ordered material for a chain link fence on my residential property. They were prompt in their replies to my inquires and the material came in on time for pickup by me. They were helpful in the loading of the material an forthcoming with tips on how best to put it all together.

We chose this company from the placards on the fence in our front yard. The fence was here when we moved in and seemed good quality, even after several years. From our initial contact we were pretty pleased; they had no trouble scheduling a quote. The rep was prompt and friendly. It was only after we selected Premier as our contractor that I started to get annoyed. There is a total disconnect between Jen, at the front office, and the crews in the field. Scheduling accurate arrival times, follow up and promptness are not a concern for this company. First, It took a month to get the job scheduled. Once scheduled, it was always uncertain when work was going to take place. I admit that I was pleased with the product when it was finished. However, the Foreman stated very clearly that they stand behind their work and if I have a problem "just call and we'll come out and fix it". Well, Just 8 months later, the tension rod on my driveway gate failed. Apparently due to a faulty batch of threaded rod the company admitted using in error. I started calling them for repair on June 22 and my last phone call was this AM, July 11(17 days since the first call), and I haven't received any idea when the issue will be resolved. In my repeated interactions with Premier, I was assured I would get a call from a foreman to arrange a time to fix my fence. I've never received a return phone call from anyone at Premier Fence during this entire repair fiasco. This morning I was again met with surprise and disbelief that no one had called me with a time to fix the fence. When I expressed my dissatisfaction, I was informed that it "often takes 4 to 6 weeks to get people out" and that I'm on a list!! I have to use my back driveway every day, and I still have no idea how long I'll have to deal with this faulty sagging gate. Sure I've considered fixing it myself, but I've already paid for my product and I want what was promised. Premier Fence's answer to me has literally been, "we're too busy".
