WOODY'S HARDWOOD FLOORING

PLEASE STAY AWAY!! SAVE YOURSELF HEARTACHE! I have never been treated in such a verbally abusive manner by a business owner(Jeff MacDonald) in my 61 years of life! He lied and denied that the massive amounts of overstain, pooling stain, rough spots due to them using a razor blade to scrape off the excess pooled stain, uneven sanding, swirl marks from the sanding, heavy layers of sanding dust over my whole house, unfilled knotty hickory areas, etc. I have dark stain applied and splattered approx. 2" high all over my wood stained baseboards, wood stained doors, doorjambs, cabinet facings/ sides. I have shed too many tears over this disastrous job! To add insult to injury, the way the owner handled this saying the 19 year old who did the work has worked for him for 6 years as he stated that he quit school at 14!! What? He told me to prove they did the damage and I did with plenty of photos to support my claims and he responded by being dismissive and making statements such as, "they're just closets" "accidents happen, things get missed" Jeff stated that "I will not give you my insurance information-You don't know how this works!" He is incapable of handling issues in a mature and professional manner and instead would make insults yelling saying "if you had any common sense" I have hundreds of photos showing the massive amount of damage that was left behind! It looks like I had a dark floor that was stained lighter and no one would believe that a company left this type of workmanship behind.i have dark stain all over the concrete hearth and many more photos to support my claims-both before and after!!!

Then workmanship was excellent, the dust was kept to a minimum, especially considering the scope of work and we would definitely hire again. I think there must have been some outside challenges with phones calls though. Although they could be hard to get a hold of, the completed work was worth it and we would hire again. The patience paid off with the final product, but I would encourage them to work on this area..

Woody's is one of the best contracting companies we've ever worked with. Mike and Denise are professional, answer questions and respond to emails quickly, and most importantly, show up when scheduled, treat your home with respect, and do great quality work. Our home was a bit of a challenge with disconnected rooms, and Mike found a way to join them all together without any obvious triangular strips, or other odd transitions. Denise was able to source 18" shorts to match our existing floor. Both we flexible in working with our schedule and letting us stay in the house & yard until the last possible minute. The finished product is fantastic, and we would absolutely hire them again. Not the cheapest, but the price is well warranted.

Mike did an AMAZING job! Prior to moving in the floors were an absolute nightmare. I only had a week after purchasing the house before I had to move in, and he was able to fit me into his schedule to get the job done prior to my moving (only took him 3 days, start-to-finish). The place was left dust free, and cleaner than before he started.
I received 5 quotes, and while Woody's wasn't the lowest, they were within $100-200 from the lowest, and several hundred below the other two. That being said, the two that were lower offered absolutely no clean up, which made my decision easy. If you've ever seen the mess refinishing floors creates, make sure you do your research prior to going with someone that expects you to clean up the mess.
Denise was also very easy to work with, and was very responsive to both calls and emails.

The quality of the work was great and they were very personable when talking with us. They came back to do a final inspection and it wasn't up to their standards. They redid the flooring at no cost to us.

Things went very well. The quoting and scheduling was prompt and on time. They were able to accommodate a last minute change in schedule on our part. Everything was explained clearly and completely and a set of options were offered. The pricing was fair and the job was completed at the quoted price. I would highly recommend them to others and I think you'll find their bids are competitive.

Very service oriented (on time to all meetings, frequent e-mails/phone calls). Beat very tight deadline to which they committed by 2 days by working especially long hours and weekends. Fair/competitive pricing compared to other bids. Very, very nice work. We are especially pleased.

Overall we are very dissatisfied with the work done. After the intial job was completed we noticed a number of issues including puddles, pronounced sanding ridges, and uneven staining. Woody's agreed to return to fix these issues twice, but after another two weeks of work (and fumes) the sanded ripples in the floor were replaced by more puddles and severe discoloration in the center of the main room. The end result was 4 weeks of being out of the house for hardwood floors that we'll need to buy an area rug to cover. After 2 weeks of emails they finally agreed to a nominal discount (less than 10%) for the poor workmanship.

When it comes to doing high-end home remodels, which is what we do 80% of the time, we know most of client’s are going to want hardwood floor installations or refinishing. Fortunately, Kairos Enterprises, inc. (or “we”) found Woody’s. Though not always the cheapest option, we have to admit that their quality of work is far worth the slightly higher prices and we end up going with this company 9 times out of 10 regardless of cost. Not to mention they guarantee all work performed – which is priceless. In addition, we must praise this company for not only delivering excellent results, but doing it in a timely and sometimes very speedy fashion. We’ve been in a few binds with jobs needing to be done “yesterday” and Woody’s has always been there to help. They fit us in numerous times when no other company would – once they even worked on a job for us right before their scheduled vacation! Talk about customer service! We are thrilled to have worked and continue to work with Woody’s and would recommend them to anyone with hardwood flooring needs!

My dining room looks great, but when they applied the finish coat it wasn't consistent. There are areas where there isn't enough coating, puddle areas. They don't seem very accommodating or willing to make correct any problems that I have with the work.
