Very well. Terrific communication. If you have to have someone invading your space allow these guys. They're efficient, respectful, tidy (as much as one could expect with all that work) & fun!

Let me start by saying this company was highly recommended by my employer, who had used their services in the past.. I got estimates from 3 other companies, but I failed to get one from Wilderness. When I asked the women I spoke to on the phone about getting an estimate, she told me they charged 150.00 per hour so I didn't need an estimate. Based on the other 3 estimates I received, I knew the work would take about 5 hours to complete. What she failed to tell me was that $150.00 per hours PER PERSON. The sent 2 workers to my home. In retrospect, I own that I should have insisted on an estimate. So, they arrive to do the work and all goes well. Until I receive the bill. I call the company to voice my complaints about the lack of transparency in their billing. I never asked for a refund, nor did I tell them to how they should price their work. I just told them, I would have appreciated to know up front, the $150.00 rate was based on 2 people. The guy I spoke to sounded annoyed and put out about having to deal with my criticism. The final bill from Wilderness was over $400.00 higher than all the other estimates. Fast forward to the following Monday, I call the company to tell them that one of the five outlets they changed, didn't work unless you turned on the light switch. They tried to tell me, that my husband wanted it set up that way.. There is no way my husband would ask for this set up in one room and not the other fours rooms. As we go back and forth over why my husband who works as an Electrical Engineer, wouldn't know what a "always" hot outlet means is IMPOSSIBLE. At some point in the conversation, I had to tell this man.. "We aren't stupid people" The bottom line, they wanted more money to come out and correct the outlet. I refused and paid another company for their service. As a customer.. respect, money and my time go hand in hand. I would NEVER recommend this company to anyone. They are overpriced and hard to deal with.. There are better companies out their for your money.

They were booked out for about 3 weeks, which tells me they are in high demand. The electrician (Steve) showed up on the date promised and performed all work correctly. He also cleaned up after himself. We had an issue with the car charging station a couple of days later (I may have caused it), but Steve came back out and fixed the problem at no additional charge.

We compared a couple of electrical contractors and went back and forth with each on materials and approach, and we looked at years in business, local versus not as local and responsiveness during the process. We worked closely with Rick on creating the proposal, and in the end we chose Wilderness based on their experience, presence in the local community, and their proposal. They were not the cheapest, but they recommended the use of EMT (which was the bulk of the cost difference over PVC) since this was an open barn and much of it would be visible. This would make it much more attractive and last longer than PVC. Once the work started, working with Steve was awesome. He worked with us patiently as we needed to make decisions along the way, and he was able to make suggestions and give us options that made our decisions very simple. This was definitely a case where you get what you pay for. Steve is a master at what he does, and the way he bent and routed the EMT around the barn is still awesome to look at. We love the results, and would definitely hire them again!

When i called for a quote i was quoted 125 per hour and it would take about 1 and 1/2 hour to complete. The worker was here almost 1 and 1/2. When the worker was done he presented me a bill for $250.00. All the material for the job was supplied by me so all the cost was labor.

"Thank you for taking the time to provide this review for my company's services to you. It appears, given the A rating in most categories that there was confusion regarding our service call rates. I personally answer 95% of the service calls that come in and have a couple of issues with the facts as stated in your review. Actually, the rate quoted to you over the phone and as evidenced by the work order that you signed for this job was $105 + tax per hour. It was discussed that it would take approx. 1 1/2 hours plus or minus to complete this work Your invoice before sales tax was actually $210 (2 hrs x $105). Sales tax added another $18.06 to ring the total invoice to $228.06. It is unfortunate that for some reason we were not able to meet all of you expectations, I am diligent at trying to provide the most accurate "over the phone" quote that I can, most times I am successful and receive positive feedback along with repeat business with our customers. It is unfortunate that in this case we failed to meet the expectations you had set for us. I feel I was forthcoming in my "over the phone" assessment and that the actual time expended was with-in the spirit of our terms of understanding, that the work would be completed on a Time and Materials basis. I however am still bothered that we did not receive your highest marks in all categories and will continue to work diligently at providing the most accurate "over the phone" quotes that I can. Not only did they make sure everything was connected properly, they went out of their way to make sure we knew how to run the generator and made sure all the appropriate areas being serviced by the generator worked properly as well.

I had Wilderness come out and install two dimmer switches in rooms in my house, a timer for my front porch light and run HDMI cabling for my HDTV. Steve was on time and very efficient. Work was done in a timely manner and he offered to clean up where some debris had fallen on the floor while installing the switches. I would definitely recommend this company.

The owner asked me several questions and then called my husband to discuss the issue, as he was home for the day. He had a electrician available that afternoon, but wanted to prevent a charge for a simple fix. Lo and behold after a little investigation on the phone, my husband discovered a GFCI outlet in the garage which was the source of our issues. I really appreciate his willingness to troubleshoot the issue. We are not former customers, but he treated us like very valuable customers. Kudos and we are now customers.

The panel replacement went fine. There were additional costs related to a broken bracket where the electricity comes into the house. We have a 40 year old house, so the bracket is obsolete. They took the time to find a used bracket from their stock, rather then replace the whole box. Which would have required getting the local electric company involved and additional costs.

Cost was high, but I really believe that you should expect to pay a reasonable price for quality service. We were very happy with the end results. The project was complicated and they stepped in when another contracted had dropped the ball. They were willing to deviate from the original plan, did the work professionally and got done within a days everything that we needed. Previous contractor had spread out the project for weeks and left us hanging. Wilderness left the area clean when done, locked up the house (no cats escaped!), and set up a meeting with the county inspector the next day and took care of the paperwork. It was because of these guys that I became a member on Angies List, and am willing to pay a little extra for professionalism. I plan on using them again within the next 6 months. Sometimes people may expect that being an Angie's List member you'll get a cheaper price. I personally care more about the service am willing to pay a little more for it.

Our experience was overall good. Merrick, our electrician, did a good job, though I thought the price was a little high. Total time on job was about 8 hours over two different days and we supplied the conduit and light fixtures. I initially had to call Rick back several days after he said he would get back to me with an estimate.
