This is about a chain saw I purchased from them a while back. I had not used it in a while and I could not get it started. Took it in, they did some clean up and it started right up. Turns out I didn't read instructions fully and if I had it would probably have started. They educated me courteously and charged me nothing. Great service

We went to their store in maple valley to look at gas inserts. We made an appt for them to come out and measure for the size and for the gas line to be run. They got back to us within 1-2 days with a bid. We decided to go with them and got on their schedule for installation. They were 6 weeks out, which was perfect for our plans. They came on the exact day we were scheduled for. The installation went well and the gas insert is awesome. We love it. The face that we chose did not quite cover the hole in our fireplace so they made a panel to go behind the face to seal the hole up well. It looks very nice and there was no additional charge for that. They stood by their original bid. Everyone we had contact with was awesome. Mike, Eric and Scott were awesome and I talked to Mel on the phone and she was great about returning my calls. Would definitely recommend them and would use them again!

We first spoke with the people at Good Earth Works when we were considering purchasing a house that would need a wood burning fireplace insert or stove. We were taken by their expertise, their simple, honest approach. We had them come up and evaluate the existing fireplace and give us an idea of what we could do with it. We did not buy that house, but felt we would come back to them when we needed such expertise again. We have now purchased a house with an existing wood burning fireplace insert, and called them for a reference for a chimney sweep. They gave us a name (also an Angie's List company) and we were very pleased with the referral. Now that we have a clean, functional and working fireplace, we are purchasing compressed sawdust logs from them because they are priced right, environmentally safe and fireplace friendly. We would definitely recommend this local business to anyone who needs a consultation, new stove and/or other related tools. These people are no nonsense and know their business well - customer friendly!!!

Scott came over and measured, recommended an insert size, quoted on the job and we scheduled a date for the install. When the date arrived, I was worried they wouldn't be able to do the job because of snow and ice. But the installer showed up on time, and the insert was completed that day. Tom was very professional and very neat about the work. I didn't have anything to clean up after him, and he was careful about not tracking snow onto the wood floors. The custom face plate surround that had to be made for my oversized fireplace opening looks super...like it came with the house.

This is a copy of my complaint letter to both companies: Date: November 17th, 2010 To the company Managers: I called The Good Earth Works 3 or 4 times to get an update on the status of the insert repair and even though I asked them to call me for an update they never called me back. The company does not have an answering machine to leave a message. Having an answering machine should be part of good customer care. Once the insert was finally repaired, Brandon delivered and installed, but it did not work! Even though they had it in the shop for over 2 weeks and Brandon told me they had tried it out in the shop and it worked fine. I am afraid I don’t understand this part. He then called his coworker and the coworker told him he possibly had wired it incorrectly. Again, this does not make sense. So Brandon had to take the insert out yet again to re-wire it. Brandon had to take out the insert (3 to 4 X) for various issues. Pulling and inserting the insert so many times, could have potentially damaged other parts of the insert. The insert now does not make as much noise as before, but it still makes a slight rattling noise coming from the top closure as if something is lose and the door hook will not fit over the lock. All of these repairs should have been taken care of at the shop. I am very unhappy with the companies customer service and hope these matters will be researched and improved within your company and a refund for part of these inconveniences should be issued.

THEY CALLED ME RIGHT BACK TO VERIFY THAT THEY HAD THE RIGHT PART. THEN WE WENT TO PICK IT UP AND THEY SHOWED ME HOW TO PUT IT ON. THEY WERE FRIENDLY, KNOWLEDGEABLE AND COURTEOUS.
