Cabinet Renovations

We got the name of Ian and his company from a friend that used him several years ago and were still pleased with his work. I checked his reviews and was impressed. When he returned my call he was extremely thorough in explaining exactly how he prices jobs, what he does step by step and how he does the job. I wanted our cupboards and drawers restored vs. painted. He explained he restores the looks of the cabinet vs serious repair work. He could not have been more clear or concise. We scheduled an appointment and he was prompt, calling the day ahead to confirm. He did the job as promised and also tossed in a little free and helpful advice as well. I am happy to recommend him and his work.

Pricing is $180 for each door, panel, drawer, etc. Included is all the surrounding framing. We had 52 openings. The total price shown is before WA tax. We are very pleased with the result. This project requires that you remove everything in your kitchen. It is a great opportunity to clean everything and you should do that before the masking begins. This project requires significant effort on the homeowner's part. It took 2 days for the contractor to remove all the doors, drawer fronts, the hardware and to mask the areas that would not be painted. Painting took 1/2 day and another 1/2 day to remove all the masking and draping and to clean up. Plan on not being able to use your kitchen for at least 4 days. After the painting was done, it took about a week for the doors and drawer fronts to be returned. During this time, you can use the kitchen but everything is likely laid out on tables and counters, not in drawers and cabinets. We feel our kitchen has a completely new, more modern look. Do not expect the grain of the wood to be covered.

Ian did a great job. He protected the floor and surrounding surfaces. He fixed an uneven door. He adjusted hinges. He did the job in the amount of time promised. He restored the cabinets to new appearing condition.

Ian did a very good job on our cabinets. He removed the drawer faces to have these stained at his location while he completed staining the frames on premises. We like the final outcome and like the way our cabinets look at the end. He provided good recommendations on colors. Ian is very flexible & can adapt to you needs. We had a flooring person working at the same time and needed to extend his start date. Ian was able to adapt and was able to work around the change. He showed up on time and completed all the work as per the schedule. Overall, I am very pleased with his work. Highly recommended.

These guys are awesome! I spoke with Ian originally by phone and text and then he sent Ryan out to estimate and then do the work. They told me that with my whitewash maple cabinets it would be hard to make them look new. You know what? They worked a miracle and did make them look like new! They were professional, friendly and courteous and I can't wait to get them back to do my bathroom cabinets.

I had Ian do a color change to the kitchen and bathroom cabinets in a new home I purchased to update the look and I couldn't be happier with the results... Great guy easy to work with done on schedule. Cabinets look like new!! He and Ryan did an amazing job, if you're looking for this type of project look no further they exceeded expectations you won't be disappointed.

Ian responded immediately to my initial inquiry, promptly scheduled a start date for the project, showed up on time, every time and completed the work earlier than promised. Exceeded our expectations. We love the look of the cabinets, etc. We feel like we have a brand new kitchen. Ian is a perfectionist and it shows in his work.

Everything went well. Ian is a busy guy, but he stayed true to the schedule and the work is excellent. We had maple cabinets that had yellowed. Ian and his team had to do days of prep work to get the old finish into condition to accept repainting. When it came to painting, the finish is flawless - not a streak, drip or overspray to be found.

I talked to Ian over the phone consulting/asking questions a couple of times before committing, and he was really patient explaining everything. He spray painted our cabinets white and the island an espresso color. Ian was very professional, efficient and did a fantastic job. The cabinets look like they are brand new! They are probably the best. They were at my house on time, did the job, I was shocked at how good the cabinets look now.

Everything went very smoothly, Ian is fantastic at what he does.

My cabinets were repainted by Cabinet Renovations with an extremely poor outcome. The owner took responsibility by claiming the primer he used was bad (documented in a text thread from the owner) and repainted some of the cabinet sections, with poor outcome again. It was clear in the areas where the paint was rubbing off that the surface of the cabinets were not prepped, sanded or primed. In total, my cabinet doors were removed and touched up 4 times. I have time stamped photos documenting each step of this process, showing the damage, and showing the resulting fix. After the 3rd attempt at repair, the owner admitted that his assistant did not properly prep the cabinets. I have this in writing in text form from the owner's phone number. I gave the company one more chance to correct the problem. The cabinets were again returned to me in a poorly repainted condition. I have photo documentation of their current state showing poorly covered and uneven surfaces. Also, as a result of this company removing and replacing the cabinet doors repeatedly, the base cabinets have cracked from screws being over tightened in several places. I have attempted to communicate my dissatisfaction with the owner in 3 separate texts. Each time he said he would email me and he has not. I resulted to asking for a partial refund to have my cabinets repainted and repaired properly. I still have not heard from the owner and it has been since February 28, 2017 with no communication from him. My kitchen has been in a state of remodel for a total of 10 months because of poor workmanship and poor communication from the owner. I have reported to BBB.

I was very pleased with Ian's attention to detail. He was prompt which is a appreciated professional way to do business. He completed the job as promised and left everything clean and ready for me to put my kitchen in order. I would definitely ask Ian to do other projects in our home.

The cabinets were 25 years old, some were very water stained and several had built up grease. Mr. DuBois was very professional from the quote to the finish. The results were amazing. His technic for covering the areas around the cabinets was very impressive. He worked on areas that I was too embarrassed to ask about and they look great I was very thankful he added them in. I had forgotten how great they could look and I did receive compliments on the new look.

Everything went well but Ian didn't do my cabinets. He sent his colleague Ryan to do my job. He did an excellent job on the cabinets he walked me through the whole process. He was pleasant to talk to and explained everything to me. The cabinets came out great you can see the wood grain really well and the stain on the cabinets made the difference. With the new hardware my kitchen looks really nice

IAN came out to take a look and told me what I could expect. He definitely under promised and over delivered. Our cabinets are now protected against water and stains and look so much better!

Since having the work done we went ahead and redid our kitchen (counters, updated appliances, etc.) and added hardware but the cabinets need no further work. We also did an minor update to the bathroom and, again, the cabinets did not need anything else. It has been several years and they still look great!

We hired Ian to change the color of our honey oak cabinets to a dark brown. He made our 20 year old cabinets look brand new! Ian was a pleasure to work with through the entire process. He is very professional, honest and does high quality work. He took extra care in protecting the rest of the kitchen while the cabinets were worked on, as well as cleaning up when he was done. Ian was a delight to work with. He was highly recommended by a friend who had had her kitchen refinished. Ian was friendly, honest and patient whenever I had a question or concern. The work in our kitchen required three days. Ian was punctual and when delayed, called to inform us of a new arrival time. We were vey happy with the finished product. We feel we have a "new" kitchen!
