WA Hardwood Specialist

The floors look incredible! I hired WA Hardwood Specialists to sand the floors in a mid century modern where the floors had not been refinished since the sixties. Two other companies told me they were a complete mess and could not be saved, but Sergey’s team sanded and fixed them and I used tung oil to bring them back to life. They look amazing!

Sergejs is one of the very few construction/trade workers I have met who consistently shows up on time around the promised time and does a fantastic job every day. He got our project done on time and on budget. The Nydree Hardwoof flooring and EcoSilencer was hard to work with (we bought it because it is acrylic impregnated and is hard enough to stand-up to large dog nails without denting or scratching). The project was more complicated and slower than expected because the materials and Nydree's special polyurethane glue were sometimes difficult to use. However, overall, we are thrilled with the project. The stairs also turned out beautifully and Sergej's work was precise. In the very few places where finish/style compromises needed to be made, Sergejs pointed them out to us and helped us make a decision about what to do. He is a true master craftsman who takes pride in his work. When we are ready to do our basement in Hardwoof floors, we will certainly use him again. He pays attention to details that other installers do not, that's why we chose to work with him in the first place, and he met or exceeded our expectations.

Everything went as planned. Sergey gave us a very fair price and worked within the time frame that we agreed upon. He walked us through each step s left everything clean. We were very impressed with the job he did and would hire him again in a heartbeat.

Sergie was great to work with! He was helpful with our selection of flooring that coordinated with the wood that we already had, and attentive to every detail along the way. I would definitely recommend WA Hardwood, for either resurfacing or installing new flooring, he is hardworking and very attentive to detail! We love our new and resurfaced floors! (We purchased the flooring, price we paid included removal of carpet and some old wood flooring, installation of new, and resurfacing of old. We were happy with the price.)

This is the 2nd time I used Wa Hardwood. They refinished our existing hardwoods in the main floor (3/4" Maple). Did a great job so we used them again for new hardwood flooring in the upstairs which was also 3/4 Maple. So whats considered a great job? well obviously its got to look great which it did but also there are other elements to "great" such as on time every day, staying within the bid with no additional charges, no damage to walls etc. Another important aspect is minimal dust. They have a modern dustless sanding process which works well. As they note dustless is not totally dustless but it sure is close. With all the sanding they have to do its quite remarkable.. Also they use 3 coats of Swedish finish vs some outfits that put two coats down. Also don't believe the outfits that say Poly coatings are as good as Swedish finish. Poly coatings are better for the installer but not better for the Homeowner. The only drawback with Swedish is its so toxic when curing you need to find a place to stay when the 3 coats are being applied (3 days)...or live in a basement... but so worth it. Thumbs up to WA Hardwoods!

   Sergy and WA Hardwood Specialists did a fantastic job installing my wood floors. I would highly recommend this company. His measurement of my floors and how much material I would need was spot on!  He was a huge help in getting the material to my house so I didn't have to pick up the wood from the dealer since I dont have a truck. First, he installed a plywood underlayment and did a fabulous job on leveling the floor to my already existing tile. Then he expertly picked the right boards to make the pattern look very random and natural. He also rejected some boards that were not up to his standards and went to great lengths to make sure everything looked consistent in color.  I was impressed by his ability to get so close to the baseboard with the new flooring, I hardly have to put molding on. I should also mention, that we have a curved wall in our library and Sergy was able to cut the baseboard so as to slip the new flooring underneath and did not have to resort to taking off the molding, saving me a lot of money and it looks great! I asked him how he did  that and he said he has a special tool that most other floor installers don't have that makes him able to do tricky installs much more efficiently.
   Sergy is also meticulous when it comes to cleaning up after each phase of installation and at the end of every work day. He was fair and kept to his word about pricing which by the way is absolutley reasonable as I had a couple of estimates prior to hiring WA Hardwood Specialists and his prices were the best.
   And finally, if time is a problem for you, he is willing to  try to accommodate your time frame and try to adjust his schedule to help you out. When I needed to contact him he was available most of the time and if not, he would call, text or email me back within a few minutes. I would absolutely hire this company again! Thank you Sergy!

I am very happy with WA Hardwood Specialists. I am a real estate agent and when it came time to refinish and replace some of my hardwoods because of water damage. I ask a client of mine that had his hardwoods refinish and turn out beautiful, he said WA Hardwood Specialists.

I had four bids on the project. WA Hardwood Specialists bid was not the highest or lowest but was by far going to do the best job by replacing the damage hardwood and subfloor. They refinished all the floors and you cannot tell were the repair was made. My wife and I are very satisfied and would highly recommend this company to all my friends and clients.

We chose WA Hardwood Specialists (and worked with Sergey) because they provided the most detailed cost estimate and schedule and because of their Angie's List rating.  The amount of flooring work required was unusually large and we are very picky so we had a number of worries going into this project.  It turned out that our worries were unfounded.
Sergey was very knowledgeable and did a nice job of explaining our options each step along the way.  He is a perfectionist and takes great pride in his work.  The grain and color match between the new hardwood flooring and the existing hardwood flooring is literally perfect (even though the original manufacturer does not make the exact same product anymore).
Finally, as for the basics we want from anyone who does work in our home - honesty, punctuality, cleanliness - Sergey was top notch. 
Overall, the result is an A+ and we highly recommend WA Hardwood Specialists and Sergey.

Sergy gave us an estimate that was very fair and lower than 2 others, AND, more impressively, he noticed some warped boards in our powder room that extended out into our hallway, which indicated a long, slow leak. His estimate included removing these boards and replacing them with matching white oak and was very knowledgable about what brand they were and making sure he got a great match with our existing flooring. He was prompt, curteous, and professional. He delivered exactly what he said he would, when he said he would, and did a fantastic job!!

My hardwood floors had taken quite a beathing over the decades, and I was overdue to bring back a beautiful hardwood floor.  I contacted Sergey, and he was very prompt in returning calls.  He was also able to schedule the work in a very timely manner.   The floors turned out fantastic and brought new life to my home.  Even the fir stairs came back to a level I never thought I would see.  His work was great, and he left behind essentially no dust to keep the rest of my house clean.  He was maticulous in getting every corner and edge done.  I am very happy for the fine job he did and would highly recommend his service to anyone.

Sergey does outstanding work!  He has installed and refinished hardwood flooring for me before.  When I experienced water damage to my kitchen floor due to a faulty refrigerator valve, there was no question who I wanted to repair and refinish my floors.  Sergey promptly responded to my call for help and coordinated effectively with another contractor who removed and reinstalled cabinets over the damaged floor.  All the hardwood flooring (kitchen, foyer, hallway, and sewing room) had to be refinished so the replacement flooring and existing floor color would match.  After Sergey completed his work I could not tell where the repair work was done.  Everything match seamlessly and the flooring looks great!  I would recommend WA Hardwood Specialist to anyone and would use them again.

I recently had a few heavy items fall on my hardwood floor, some of which left a few dents, gouges, and scratches in a very heavily-trafficed area. I called Sergey to see what can be done, and he said he would stop by the next day (Saturday) to take a look. Once he arrived it took him a few minutes to assess the damage and tell me that there weren't many options to fix the gouges, either to try filling with wax or replace the boards and refinish the whole area. He try the wax-filling option and it worked, at least filling the gouges and pretty much matching the color with the existing wood. He tried rubbing some olive oil on the lighter scratches to at least seal the exposed wood fibers. Sergey was very professional and accommodating with his time, and I would definitely use him again when I need "real" work done to my hardwood floors.

Sergey is the best! He just wrapped up refinishing our upstairs floors and staircase. We have an old craftsman house with oak floors that are at least 60 years old, if not older, which were in terrible shape - deep scratches, discoloration, water stains, the whole works. We got 3 estimates but decided to go with Sergey based on his thorough examination of the floors when he came to give an estimate and his honesty about what the floors would look like afterwards. He started the project when he said he would, did an amazing job, and his original estimate matched the final cost. Our floors look better than I ever thought they would and we will be using him again when we replace our flooring on the main level (there wasn't enough left to refinish).

I found Sergey and had him take a look and give me an estimate on hardwood floors. I decided to hire Sergey and the first day on the job he spent over 10 hours pulling carpet and prepping the floor by himself. Very impress when seeing him working all by himself. He did very good job on floor but I'm still not 100% satisfy with the stair (since he subcontract the Stair). The floors turned out beautiful but still have some tiny missing spot (on stair's noses) He was happy to come back and correct those. I am so pleased with the detail and Sergey was extremely kowledgeable and hard working. I would call him back on my next hardwood floor project.

We were very impressed with Sergey?s expertise in dealing with our situation. We had 19 year-old oak floors that needed refinishing and two more rooms where we wanted oak installed to match the original floor. Sergey quickly recognized that we had Missouri oak and was able to order new material to match it. He skillfully interlaced the new boards in with the original flooring that he extended from the kitchen into the family room. He took the time to help us pick the perfect color stain to go with our kitchen cabinets and millwork. He did everything right and surprised us by replacing some damaged boards in the original floor. He made all the old and new flooring match beautifully. He hand brushed the three coats of Swedish finish and it turned out stunningly beautiful. The results exceeded our expectations! Sergey did an fantastic job. We called 5 places for an estimate including Sergey. We had 4 show up and he was very detailed and answered all my questions really well! I told my neighbor, who is a license contractor about his estimate and Sergey was pretty much spot on with what needs to be done. He did not try to sell me anything extra AND worked with us on cutting the cost down. We did our own demo, prep work, and trim install.
Throughout the whole process we had tons of question which he answered fully. Questions about the finish, rotted wood, after care, and random questions we might have had. The end results were exactly how we liked it. Asked for a satin finish, and a dark brownish red. When we picked the color he would mix it and apply it to the actual hardwood itself so we know what we are exactly getting.
If I had to say something bad, the only thing is we had to wait about a week for him to finish everything. It was not consecutive days, of work, but that is due to some drying times and scheduling. Even then, Sergey would try his hardest to finish in a timely fashion.
Overall, great person to work with, end results were amazing, and extremely competitive pricing!

Sergey picked up the phone when I called and we scheduled an appointment for the following evening to inspect the flooring and provide a quote.  Scheduled the job for the following week.  The floor had over 8 years of heavy traffic including kids and dog, and areas faded by the sun; definitely needed to be restored.  Sergey explained what he was going to do and finished the job as planned.  No surprises - none!  Floor looks brand new. Completely hassle free experience.  First day was sanding and sealer coat, 2nd day was first top coat, 3rd day was sand/buff and last top coat.  We stayed at a hotel for 3 nights since all entrances to the house are on the hardwood flooring that was being refinished.

Sergey was very professional and easy to work with. I originally called him on a Saturday and didn't expect to hear anything back until Monday. To my pleasant surprise Sergey called me back that day and came out to look at the job on Sunday.
Sergey was very knowledgeable and friendly, and helped me to make decisions regarding trim and thresholds. He showed up on time, and the work was completed on time. The end result is beautiful.

I want to state from the bid process to the last day of work everything went very smoothly. Sergey gave us a full schedule of all the work, which was extensive. Sergey worked with us on each step to make sure we we're happy and work was always completed on time. He and his crew we very clean and orderly. I was very pleased with the lack of dust in the house.my wife and I worked with Sergey to pick a stain color that really made us happy and fit our style. We could not be more happy with the outcome. From making sure the subfloors were free of squeaks, to incorporation of the new and old floors the quality was first rate. One of the reasons that helped us make our choice was that Sergey uses some very impressive sanding processes that keep dust at an absolute minimum. We were very pleased with the entire job, and on top of it all he was finished ahead of schedule. I also appreciated that our final cost was exactly as bid. I would have no reservations recommending WA Hardwood Specialist to anyone with a flooring project, big or small.
