Was supposed to take 10 days. A month later we were still waiting. When the gates were finally delivered, one was acceptable- the other was not even close to what we discussed. They refused to remake the gate that was wrong and ultimately refused to install either of the gates. Would never recommend this company.

At the time of the quote, we were told it would take about 2 weeks for the gates. After several calls and 2 months, we were told the gates were ready. When the installers showed up, the exterior gate was as expected - however, the interior gate was not. I asked the installers to start on the exterior gate while I tried to resolve the issue with the interior gate. While I was on the phone, they started packing up and told me that the owner said we’d take both as is or get nothing. We got nothing and would never consider working with this company again.

The estimator was scheduled to arrive between 11 and 2 but finally showed up at 3:30. We discussed specifically that we wanted the interior gate to match, or at a minimum, blend with the existing railing and the exterior gate to blend with the style of the deck railing. We were told that the gates would be built on site, sent out for powder coating and be installed in a week. The fabricators came and decided it would be better to fabricate in their shop and then send out for powder coating but assured me the gates would be back in a week. Two weeks later we got a call that the gates were ready and I requested a morning install. Julissa agreed that the installers would be at the house in the morning. When 12:30 came and went, I started calling to find out where they were. I got a song and dance that the prior job had been a real problem and they were running late, but would be here in 20 minutes. An hour and 15 minutes later, the installers finally showed up. When I asked them why they were so late, they said that Julissa never told them they were supposed to be here in the morning. Much to my surprise, both gates looked exactly alike and the gate for the interior was big and blocky and did not even come close to blending with the railing. I asked them to install the exterior gate while I discussed the interior gate with my husband. They started the exterior installation and then stopped, picked up all their tools and said the boss to,d them not to install either gate. Between the week it took to get the estimator here, another week for the fabricators to arrive and yet another two weeks for the powder coating, we've wasted a month on this company. I would be very cautious in contracting with Volkan Railings. As a customer, my time has meant nothing to them and their ability to communicate is severely limited. Or, it's a complete of care about their customers.

. . . two years after his installation of wrought-iron bannisters in front of my home, I began to notice places where the protective enamel coating the iron was flaking off, allowing the iron beneath to rust.  I called Mr. Volkan and he agreed that this was covered by his warranty, though he said that it was a third-party provider whose enamelling work was defective.  He said he would take action on this. That was nearly a year ago.  I never heard from him again.

Very good quality. The product was available quickly. Mr. Volkan was able to answer all of my questions. I feel that I got a really good price. They even spray painted the lamp post and welded on a flag pole holder on my porch. They came out about 2-3 times before the installation to talk about the project and make sure I understood. The day that they did the work Mr. Volkan came out to make sure I was satisfied and answer any questions I might have.. They didn't rush through the work. I could tell that the workers take pride in what they do.

Excellent. Mr. Volkan's team did an excellent job of putting together my railings. Mr. Volkan is very easy to work with, and I may have some other projects for him in the future.

Gave reasonable estimate, I accepted, promptly built the railings on site, took railings to shop, finished and had them powder coated, they are vey attractive.

We e-mailed back and forth our wishes and pictures of the proposed project. He gave us a preliminary estimate, all this took about two weeks. He came out to look at the job, take measurements and make suggestions, then emailed us a bid. He said they would be out in about a week to fabricate the railings, it took over two weeks for them to come out. They fabricated the railings in about 4 hours and said it would take about one week to get the railings powder coated. In about two weeks they came back and Installed the railings. The railings look wonderful and the Installation is great. They get an A+ for quality, not so much for communication and promptness. Overall they did a great job and I will use them for another larger railing job.

We moved into a house with no railing on a high-up, small balcony and hired Volkan to install a railing. We met with two contractors for bids, Volkan and Ballard Ironworks (Ballard had come highly recommended by multiple neighbors). Ballard is clearly the high-end solution, and they offered a custom but simple design for double the price we paid Volkan.
Volkan responded very quickly to come by and give a quote and suggested a pre-fab option to save cost. He emailed me photos of the pre-fab railing so I knew exactly what I was getting. We are happy with the railing and are glad we did not pay more -- the pre-fab design works just fine for our needs.
The only reason I gave B's is that the site was not cleaned up after. The calking weather sealant where the railing bolts meet our balcony marked up our balcony. If this was unavoidable that's fine, but Volkan should have mentioned it and told us we need to re-paint or offered some other solution. There was also mud and dirt left on the balcony. Otherwise I have no complaints.

He called a few days before the scheduled start date and offered to come over immediatly if it was convenient for us.
He was very easy to deal with, worked hard and did a very nice job.
We would recommend him to anyone who needs iron work.

Good communication by phone, he had to reschedule twice with things coming up but got back to me both times. He also gave me a bid on a replacement railing system for my apartment building which was very tempting and I know that I'll call him when I decide to do that.

He was congenial and efficient and did a great job. Recommended.

For the most part we are pleased with the results. The railing looks very nice and is sturdy, but we did not get exactly the design that we wanted. While this is not a big deal for us it might be for someone else. I recommend that as you are talking with Mr. Volkan you take notes on what he is offering/suggesting regarding any extras, changes, and price.

I would recommend his services to others, he is very pleasant to work with, arrives when he says he will be there, ready to get to work.

Volkan was very responsive and informative. We did have a small problem which he resolved immediately .
We are pleased with his work and would recommend him to others.

The process was painless. Volkan cut and assembled the components on site, I approved them, and he sent them out for final heat-enameling. He installed the finished product a few days later. The only down-mark is that like most one-man firms, Volkan's sometimes overbooks and is too optimistic about deadlines, but his minor failings in this area are more than offset by his professional skill, attention to detail, and candor.

done very professionally. from measuring, submitting computer drawings, to installation. My only complaint was the cement drilling dust stained the new concrete finishes I had recently had completed. I should have cleaned it up immediately after the drilling to limit the discoloring.

They went far and beyond the limits of their contract to work with us and get this job completed within a inflexible deadline. He even added some additional work without charging us. In addition, he behaved with professionalism and sensitivity in working with a difficult resident at the location of the work. His product was first rate, solid manufacture and he did a wonderful job. I am grateful that I found Volkan to perform this work, and would recommend him to anyone who wants quality work at a fair price, and a professional to work with.

The Volkan Railings contractor came to the building and based on the quality of his reviews on Angie's List we selected him over several other bids. We agreed on his price based on the length he stated the project would take. The first day he was over two hours late and only worked a half day before leaving. I also had a paid manager show up several hours before his arrival to wait for him.



Ultimately, his stated project time length was almost double what it actually took him. While variations occur in contracting projects, nearly doubling the estimated time to complete a simple and generally routine welding project caught me by surprise. He essentially billed 75% in excess of the the hourly wage of the other bidding contractors. When we discussed this hourly disparity with him after the project, he was unwilling to negotiate his excessive bid.



Further, when we asked about the senior discount which is stated as 20% on Angie's List, he claimed it was only 10% and refused to honor the 20%.



However, his work appears to be very good and we have no complaints about the quality of his work product. Our only suggestion to those who use him in the future is MAKE SURE YOU GET MULTIPLE BIDS and ensure that his billing and time rates make sense for the project.

Volkan was courteous, professional, and very capable. I will be using him and his team again later this summer to finish Phase II.

He was able to give us several flexible options from full replacement to retrofitting some new anchors to fit within our budget. He was able to start within a week in between a bigger job nearby, which was excellent. The job was completed start to finish in about a half a day and the railing is now as good as new but without the huge cost of replacement. Was great to find a contractor who actually honestly recommended a retrofit instead of pushing to do a complete replacement.

Work was performed as expected and the quality was much better than average. I didn't think to ask in the proposal if painting was to be included in the price -- it was not. The overall results were very nice and added to the value of our home.

He went above and beyond the call of duty to do an excellent job and it was a great experience. He was a little expensive but we got hat we wanted.
