They came in and worked all day and into the early evening. We didn't experience any dust in the house. They were relatively quiet and very business like. We knew exactly what they were going to do and the length of time it would take to complete it.

The owner and his crews were wonderful to work with. They arrived on time, spent many hours in a three-foot crawl space making sure everything was just right, and left the area clean. The men in the crew were easy to work with and made sure everything was done right. The owner visited the site on more than one occasion and made sure everything was working right and that all details were attended to. Not only were we very pleased with the work, the crew, and the owner, but they were the lowest bid we received. We will definitely use them again should we ever need more work completed.

I believe the work included replacing insulation. He was fine even though he didn?t show up quite on time. There wasn?t anything terrible at all. He was young and nice. However, he was really less thorough in terms of his estimate than someone from another company that I chose to go with.

They did a good job. I thought their price was a little high, though. I don't think they're the cheapest. They were responsive. They were professional and good when they gave us a bid, but they were a little higher than the competition, so we didn't use them.

When I moved to Washington from out-of-state, the inspection of the house I was buying revealed rodent activity in the crawl-space. I countered to the sellers that I would go ahead with the purchase if they agreed to fix the problem and they agreed. They sent me a copy of the bill that they paid to this company "Two Savages," to do the work. I removed my contingency, the deal closed and I moved into the house a month later. Two weeks later I was doing some wiring and when I went under the house discovered that nothing had been done. 2-year-old half-eaten boxes of D-Con were still lying around, very old evidence of rodents was everywhere. I contacted my realtor who checked and verified that the sellers had paid this company and trusted that the work had been done. The invoice says the company agreed to "Remove, vacuum, fog, and clean up the entire crawl-space." When I contacted the owner of this company he insisted he'd done the work on the invoice and that anything I was finding happened after his clean-up. We were having this conversation only two months later so these would have had to have been some pretty magical rodents to have run through their entire life and decomposition cycle and made as much of a mess in such a short time. How the years-old boxes of rat poison got down there after his clean-up, he didn't have an explanation for. Concerning the Company's Response: My address, phone number, and email have never changed - there have been zero attempts to contact me. New management? It's a family business - the owner I spoke with was Miles Savage.
Response from Two Savages
"This issue has been resolved within the company. New managment is in place and this will not happen again all attepts to contact the customer have failed."

Overall the work was done correctly. I really like the quality of work, especially that of the main carpenter, Shad. However, the lack of response from the estimator and from the boss, make me feel that the project is incomplete, especially since a promised inspection of the work with the boss has not materialized. The estimator, Adam Savage, did a good job of inspecting the attic and the crawl space. He told me about some dry rot in the attic above the clothes dryer, which two other estimators had missed. That was one reason I chose Two Savages. Their price was the lowest, and that was the second reason for choosing them. However, the estimate form was not detailed, and Adam did not include mastic and duct wrapping on the form, which I discovered when the work was 'finished'. I should have checked the form more thoroughly. Four workmen showed up as scheduled and worked efficiently, professionally, and politely. The only thing amiss was that I didn't see any mastic or duct wrapping, but I figured I just missed it. When the workers 'finished', one of them came to the front door for the check. I said that they had not completed the crawl space insulation. After a long time, he came back and said that their supervisor said they needed payment, but would accept payment for the attic insulation and a bit of carpentry included in the original estimate. I paid that portion. I called the office and was assured that the crawl space insulation would be installed as Adam had described, and that Miles would inspect the work with me. I told the office lady that I needed to leave the country in a few days. I received a phone message from Adam asking if the work went OK. I called back, but was puzzled that the voice message was not for Adam, but for someone else. That was the same number that Adam had written on the estimate form. I figured he was borrowing someone's phone, but thought it unprofessional and confusing. In the message, I said that I wanted Miles to inspect the work with me, and that I needed to leave the country. I never received a reply from him. Shad came back to finish the crawl space insulation, and do some additional work to replace some posts in the crawl space that had dry rot. When he finished, I told him that I liked the work the workmen and he did, and I had some remodeling work in the fall. I also told him that I had asked for Miles to inspect the work, and that I didn't trust Adam to manage the remodeling project. I said that I wanted to meet Miles partly to see if I wanted him to bid on the project. I told Shad that I would email the remodeling scope to Miles and ask him if he wanted to bid. Shad said he would pass on my message to the office. I later called the office and the office lady told me that Miles said he would look over the remodeling information. I've never heard again from either Adam or Miles. I will not consider using Two Savages again.
Response from Two Savages
"As an Attic and crawlspace company we decided not to take on the remodel project considering it is out of our scope of abilities. But our dedication and perseverance to the crawl space is tireless, with state of the art technique and the most inovative materials."

I received a seemingly reasonably estimate from the brother/salesman. He was polite, believable and a good salesperson. He seemed to know his products and provided information or appropriate web sites to read more. We scheduled the work date. The work crew did not show up as agreed upon. They were due here at 10 a.m. No one called to say they would be late. At 11 a.m. I called to see what time a crew would be at my home and the owner called back with a long explanation and, after a bit of unpleasant conversation, finally said someone would be there at 5 that day. Again, no one shows at 5 p.m. I call at 5:45pm and the brother/salesperson states he'll get back to me. I don't hear from him but at 7pm, 3 men, ready to work in a crawl space, arrive. They say they will be working until 1 a.m. I declined there services at that point because I am a working person and having someone tearing apart my crawl space at midnight wouldn't work for me. The other part that was confusing was when talking to the owner, the amount of time the job would take kept changing. It ranged from 1 1/2 hours to 5 hours. It was hard to know what I would be paying for and I began to doubt the accuracy of the bid. Except for the initial sales person, this was all around a negative experience.
Response from Two Savages
"Unfortunatly this had to happen. As I stated to member at 10:00 in the morning we had to finish the job from the day before. We always give priority to jobs allready under way. Since she did not want to reschedule for a later date we had to make time at the end of the work day."

I wasn't expecting much of a job, but had noticed some insulation dropping. I used your feature article on Two Savages to decide on which firm to pick. It was an excellent choice. When Miles first came, he showed me in detail what had to be done and told me how the project would flow. They came on the day promised, and worked nearly 14 hours to complete the work. It was excellent. Pleasant, profession people to deal with. I am very satisfied.

They arrived a couple hours late, but did call to let me know. They worked quickly, letting me know throughout the day how they were doing. They did not leave a mess and were friendly and polite.

It was a very good experience. The work was delayed initially because of the snow we have had out this way. Miles was in constant contact with us when the work had to be delayed and finally when there was a window to get the work done he came out with a crew in the afternoon and worked pretty late to get the job completed. They left our home clean and snug. I especially liked that the company uses a product that contains no harmful chemicals and is made with recycled materials. His bid was also the most reasonable in spite of the fact that he installed R-30 insulation and not R-19 which is what the other 2 companies were bidding on.

They were very nice and friendly. They were responsive and came out the day after we called them. The only issue is that they didn't offer a PSA rebate like another company we got a bid from did.

First rate. Recommended. Excellent experience. I dealt with the owner, Miles, who only does crawl space clean outs, and he and his crew know what they are doing. They were on time, responsive, worked hard, were polite and easy to work with, did a thorough job and honored their estimate. Miles personally supervised the work. At the end Miles conducted a final inspection with me to make sure that I was satisfied. He spotted a couple of incomplete spots on the final inspection and immediately took care of them himself. The crawl space needed cleaning because of a rodent problem and Miles was knowledgeable about all aspects of my situation: pests, crawl space clean outs, insulation code requirements, etc. My positive experience with Miles stands in sharp contrast with my previous experience with National Bird Control who did such a poor job that I had to have Two Savages do the work all over again.
