This is the second time that I use him. He is really friendly, informative and gets the job done quickly. Always the price they quote and did a great job.

wanted to update the electric panel hired them to bring it up to code. when it was inspected by the electrical inspectors it failed 3 times. They were supposed to finish the job but they refused to complete the work because they said they wont do it for free however we have already paid them $5200. they refused to provide receipt. we are taking this to the Better business bureau and attorney general We had to hire someone else (CNR Electric) to fix the job Mr. Electric did

From my experience I conclude that Mr. Electric will over charge you if they can. They charged me almost $2,700 for about 7 man hours of work, minimal materials. They wired six recessed lights and 4 smoke detectors that were already in place, plus a light switch and replaced a service wire. The manager threw me a bone and lowered it to $2,374 after I complained. That's still $300 an hour for electrical work.

Problem resolved. Caused discovered and fixed.

This was a disappointing experience.  We selected Mr. Electric to install two new electrical outlets in our home because the bid was about $100 cheaper than the other bid we obtained, and the electrician agreed to install a smoke detector for free as an added incentive. 
The first time the electrician was scheduled to come, he didn't show up and we got a call two hours later that he was out sick.  They rescheduled for about 2 weeks later. 
When he did come, he didn't bring the smoke detector.  He agreed to drop it off later.  Our bid included over $100 for City of Seattle permit for the work.  The electrician told us that the permit was "automatic" unless our house came up for an audit because the city just spot checks the work they do.
We heard nothing for over a week, so we called Mr. Electric about the smoke detector and asked for confirmation of the permit in writing.  We got no response, so we emailed.  Still no response.  I called again, and finally they dropped off the smoke detector.  Then they said that we needed an inspection for the permit after all.  Apparently the spot checks are for permits outside Seattle; everything in the city needs to be inspected.  This could have been an honest mistake, but frankly I think it was an attempt to cut costs and time by not getting us the permit.
In sum, the electrical outlets are fine so far, but the experience left me with a bitter taste in my mouth.  I wish I'd paid the extra $100 and gone with the other bid.
