I had a furnace installed by Kings Heating a few years back and when I went to get it serviced for the first time, the HVAC serviceperson pointed out that the venting wasn't properly attached and there was a 1/2 inch gap which can be dangerous. I had this repaired right away since it was something that isn't safe for my tenants. I contacted the company right away and the owner communicated in a demeaning and dismissive manner. He tried to come up with several reasons or excuses as to why this could have happened and "shamed" me for not having it serviced sooner, but as the HVAC serviceperson pointed out (and I took pictures of), this was 100% an installation mistake. When I pointed this out and requested that I be reimbursed for my out of pocket cost to repair it, he continued to make up excuses and told me tough luck. I own many rental properties, I have managed many renovations and projects so I work with a lot of businesses and tradespeople. This customer service response was one of the worst I have experienced and I will definitely make sure my colleagues hear about my experience so they avoid working with Kings Heating. A simple nominal expense reimbursement would have resolved this mistake but they cared so little about their customer, they refused to make it right.

I had several estimates for the work, but chose Kings because Don (who gave us the estimate) spent the most time to understand what problems we were having, to understand exactly what our house currently had (he actually counted all of the vents and determined how the existing duct work was connected to those vents) and to come up with a plan that would fix those problems. Kings estimate was not the lowest (because their estimate included some things other estimates did not) but the results could not be better because our new HVAC system is very quiet, and the heating and cooling are now very evenly distributed throughout the house. A little background... Our house is new construction, but it was already built when we purchased it so we didn't get to spec anything out. What we found from the different estimates: (1) the original furnace was under-powered for the house size. (2) there should have been a return air duct for the 2nd floor of our 2-story house. (3) the furnace was hung on the wall directly next to the single return air vent which meant that it was VERY noisy and that A/C could not be added without reworking both all the of duct work around the furnace. (4) parts of our house were never warm in the winter. The only estimate that called out all of the issues and provided solutions for them all was from Kings. The crew that came to install the new system were on time, professional, polite, cleaned up when they were done, kept us up to date throughout the process, and spent time to help us understand the features and maintenance of the new system.

They do a great job. I've had them on other properties for years. We have 3 furnaces in different buildings and it's a little over $100 each.

Kings gave a thorough quote and while not the cheapest, seemed to have the best service.  On the day of the installation, workers showed up on time, were very professional and cleaned up after.

**Please see attached letters for complete story - first pages are my letter and final 2 pages are the letter I received from Brent on the day the glowing embers were finally provided, but here are the highlights of the experience ** Dealing with this company was an EPIC FAIL!! I contacted the company based off online reviews and the fact that for my gas FP, only certain companies are certified with them to do the service, order parts, etc... I spoke with Linda who advised me that when the technician came out he would have a catalog for us to pick the logs we wanted, but that the rest of the work (Cleaning and glass seal replacement) would be completed on our schedule service date (9/25/15). First the technician (Paul) called me and said he was running a little late (like 15mins), which turned in to over an hour. Then he was not aware of the log catalog and had absolutely no idea what I was talk8ing about. He also said he did not know he was supposed to be placing the glass seal. So all he did was "Clean" the FP (again, removing but not replacing the glowing embers that go under the logs). I asked for a call from the office to arrange the log replacement and seal installation. A couple of days go by and no call, so I call and am told everything is special order and they need the year of the FP. Why wouldn't the technician get that information before he left? A couple more days go by and I call the company with the year of the FP since they did not call me, nor did they send anyone out as they said they would and requested a quote via Text message per my request, which was over $1200. Not only charging for the parts, but also additional labor. I rejected the offer when I found the parts though another certified dealer for ½ the cost. Since I thought we had already paid for the installation I texted Brent who said he would still do the installation. Again I assumed that with all of our back and forth, the installation was already paid for with the initial $265+ I paid on 9/25/15. That was not the case however, as Brent charged an additional $130 to install the logs and then told my wife I ordered the wrong part on the glass, so he just put back up the old glass. He didn't even clean his sweat off the inside of the glass, so it looks terrible!! Oh, and best of all, the glass seal can be purchased at pretty much any FP dealer and probably even Home Depot or Lowes!! Communication and follow-up with Brent was horrendous and he NEVER initiated contact with me on any issues even when he said he would get back to me. All I ever got were excuses that he was out of town, out in the field, misunderstood, etc... Since when is it up to the customer to do all of the footwork or a project, be the one that always has to initiate contact to get any result and then be insulted by the owner of the company you are doing business with? This was truly the WORST experience I think I have ever had with a service company.
Response from King's Heating & Air Conditioning
"Kings Heating values customer feedback and strives to satisfy all it's customers. Here is the timeline of events and our actions. 9/25/2015 Our technician went to the customer's location and performed maintenance on her gas fired fireplace at our normal cost. Upon inspection and cleaning the technician had noticed the glowing embers were worn, burnt and starting to plug the burners. The technician removed them so they would not plug the burners and cause sooting inside the fireplace. Two other items were noticed and recommended for replacement: the logs which had been broken by someone else when removed improperly and the seal around the glass which seals the direct-vent fireplace. 10/01/2015 We received a text from the customer with the fireplace which we needed in order to select the correct logs for the fireplace. 10/02/2015 Our service manager sent the customer a text back with a quote for the replacement parts that also included installation labor and warranty. Later that day, the customer rejected his quote along with threatening us with a bad review and told our price was criminal. 10/03/2015 The customer sent another text apologizing for the previous rude text and indicated that they had bought the necessary parts themselves. 10/05/2015 The service manager called the customer and left a voicemail agreeing to installation of the parts the customer bought themselves, however, he never said he would come out free of charge to install the parts. 10/25/2015 The customer sent us a text saying the parts THEY had ordered had arrived and asked for us to arrange a time for installation. 11/02/2015 The service manager went to the customer's home to install the logs and glass seal (parts the customer had ordered themselves). What had arrived were the logs and a new glass front… not the glass seal. Our service manager installed the new logs and only billed for one hour of labor. The log installation with the drive out to the home was much more than the one hour he billed. Later that evening the customer sent the service manager a long text blaming him for the incorrect parts THEY HAD ORDERED and requested he do everything for free due to your “high level of justified dissatisfaction”. The customer demanded that we find the correct seal for the glass and additional embers at no extra charge. Neither the service manager or anyone at Kings Heating ordered the parts. The customer did based on their wishes. We are not responsible for their mistake in ordering the wrong parts. As a courtesy, the service manager left the customer some embers to put inside her fireplace. We had also left customer a letter requesting them to find a new company to take care of their future fireplace and HVAC needs."

They were very professional,  patient with our situation and we are extremely happy with the results. The only concern is we are still waiting for them to help submit the rebate forms with the city.

Chris & his crew did an amazing job from start to finish!! Chris did a load calculation as well to ensure everything will be properly sized.
It took me several quotes(6+) from different HVAC companies to find King Heating & A/C but it was all worthy it because that company did a Great Job!
They had this deal where you buy an A/C & you get a free heater...couldn't believe it but it was true! :)
The other thing I loved about this company was the quick turnaround time to get me scheduled
and install the new A/C & heater.
I highly recommend this company to anyone looking to get a new A/C or Heater. Make sure you speak to Chris...Awesome Guy!

They were referred by Puget Sound Energy. They are our gas company. That's why I went with them. They did the job. Everything is fine. The pilot light doesn't go out. We went through the winter without the pilot light going out. They went through and found that the cap the other provider had put in was not performing correctly. They told me that whoever did the work didn't know what they were doing. As soon as I called them they came out the next day.

I recommended them to my client, who then went on to use them for his new condo and also his existing home. Since I didn't get in on the details I can't really write a detailed recommendation.

I called for an estimate and Chris came out as scheduled and showed much expertise and knowledge with the system. I had two other bids which was far less professional. I notified Chris that he had the job and it was scheduled for two weeks out. Chris called back and said he had an opening and could come out the next day. Made the wife totally happy as temps were going into the 90's. The crew arrived on time, never slowed down, was very professional, and really easy to work with. They arrived at 9:00 AM and was completely cleaned up and gone at 3:30 PM. Super fast. Inspectors came out and passed all work. They also replaced the old thermostat with a new compatable one. We are so happy that we chose and quot;Kings Heating and Air Conditioningand quot; to do the job.
