 I was looking for a gas fireplace insert. I told them I was just shopping around, but they took over 2 hours to explain to me all of the options and what to look for in a quality product. They gave me many options and helped me narrow down what would work for me. In the end, they didn't have what I was looking for, but they definitely proved that they're focused on the customer. I'd have a lot of confidence buying from this family owned and family run store.

They went above and beyond when it came this install. It took most of the day just to run the gas pipe, but they worked to get it all done in one day. Would definitly recommend them.

another company...which was painful....it was a pleasure to work with a company that knew
what they were doing. They were prompt, knowledgeable, flexible with
their schedule, extremely helpful and we couldn't be happier with
their quality work.

After visiting several showrooms, we had a positive experience in their showroom choosing a wood-burning fireplace insert. We scheduled an in-home estimate which we didn't find as an option at any of the other fireplace shops we visited. They were able to schedule the installation a few weeks out. They did a beautiful job, it cost exactly as we were told, they answered many many questions. Everyone we met did a great job.

It went well. The only hiccups involve the difficulty of coordinating inspections from both the City of Seattle (mechanical) and King County (gas line plumbing). The fireplace looks good, works great and puts out a lot of heat. Within 2 days of installation, one of our kids absent-mindedly but the rubber sole of her slipper against the glass of the fireplace insert, melting rubber onto the glass. We called Hearthside and Home, and Aaron talked us through removing the glass. We brought it to the shop and he expertly scraped the burned rubber off and cleaned up the glass so it looks as good as new. We were not charged for this service, which was performed while we waited. We bought a screen for the fireplace.

We had an old natural gas fireplace insert that was failing and we wanted to replace it, doing the installation work ourselves. The staff was extremely helpful, pointing out the model that would most easily replace our old one. Since the weather was cold, we wanted the insert ASAP and they expedited the order so we could pick up the insert in 3 days. We returned to the store to ask some technical questions regarding the installation; again they were very helpful. Everything went very smoothly and we love the new insert. The entire transaction couldn't have been better!

We selected the model we wanted at the showroom 1/28. On 1/31, Paul came out to measure and check the worksite. He didn't notice the existing gas line was not up to code. But he did tell us that the model we had selected wouldn't fit and that we had to choose a less expensive model. The work was scheduled for 2/16. But I guess the parts from the revised order did not come in time for the install. Rescheduled for 2/23. Workers arrive to find gas line not up to code. They couldn't install a new line on short notice. Rescheduled for 3/1 when shop owner called to say workers out cannot do today, rescheduled 3/15. Finally done now. Circumstances. It might have gone better if Paul spotted the code violation or if he was able to coordinate the extra shipment of parts. Or maybe not. The model we ended up purchasing was $630 less than the model we originally wanted. But installing the gas line cost an additional $300 - a verbal quote. I'm very pleased with the product and the work they did.
