Eastside PC and Laptop repair

I called Eastside PC repair to see if I was in their service area. I was not but a repair tech got on the phone and tried to assist me remotely. My PC had several viruses and malware which prevented me from connecting remotely. I appreciate the time the tech spent trying to assist me. He was professional and knowledgeable.

I had already taken my laptop to another computer repair service. They had only extracted my user data, not the whole hard drive's data. This left out my Outlook personal data file as well as all my fonts and downloaded programs. Even though I explained the whole situation to this previous repair guy, and I thought he had it covered, it turned out that what he did was inadequate and I didn't figure this out until he had left on vacation. So, I looked on Angie's List and found Eastside PC and Laptop Repair and called Jereme. He was professional from the start. His shop is in his home (same as the previous repair guy). When I arrived, he was professionally dressed and listened to what I needed. He understood what I needed and understood why the previous attempt at retrieving my data had been inadequate. He also understood my sense of urgency -- I wanted to return my laptop for replacement ASAP. He had the job finished within a day -- the wiping of the data took longer than he thought, but we touched base by phone to re-set expectations about delivery time. He was willing to pick up and/or drop off my laptop, although this was not necessary. Also, I had purchased "Drive Scrubber" software for erasing my data -- he said he had that kind of software already and encouraged me to return my software to the store to save that much more money. When I got my laptop back (and new external hard drive that I had bought in order to have someplace to store all the data), I checked and indeed everything I had asked for was there. Jereme called me a couple days later to ensure I was happy with the work he had done -- I consider this to be going above-and-beyond, and I think he understood that I had been unhappy with the prior repair guy's service and wanted to make sure I got what I needed this time. Overall it was a great experience and I highly recommend Jereme for this type of work.
