DOAN'S LANDSCAPING

The Job set up like this.Day 1 - Friday Come over and cut the tree that overhung my garden. Then come back on
Day 2 - Monday Remove dead bushes and transplant the 2 Rhodys to clear areas for my new patio & shed foundation (clearing these areas was important so I could get my concrete contractor onsite to do a separate contract for the shed foundation and new Patio area) and then also put down the beauty bark in the 4 garden areas on day two.
Day 3 - Doan Landscape LLC was to come back and to finish the job. / Finish pruning the last tree / finish pruning another tree that I was not satisfied with from day 2's work. / move the shed / remove materials from behind the shed and plant the arborvitae. Day 1 & Day 2 went ok except for one of the pruning trees (They missed a very pronounced dead branch which I wanted cut) Toi Doan said he would get it when they came back on Day 3. He was supposed to show up on the Friday after the Monday but he never showed up I called and left message but he never called me back. Afterward every time I called I got his voice mail. This was unusual as before he always pick up the phone. So one day 2 weeks after he was supposed to show up on the Friday I decided to call him again I got his Voice mail. Then I blocked my phone number and called him back 15 mins  later and he answered. (He was avoiding my call). He agreed to come over on Monday and finish the Job. But he tried to change the contract; he wanted me to empty the contents of the shed before he moved it. I told him If I could do that I did not need to hire him to to it. that it was part of the contract for him to remove all the contents and move the shed. Then he said no you remove all the light weight stuff and my guys will remove all the heavy stuff. I said I don't know about that but he said I just don't want to break any thing. But without agreeing on that point he said he would be here be on Monday. Day 3 Monday came (Today as I write this review) he showed up early before I even woke 8AM. But mysteriously he left. I called him and asked why he said I had not removed the light materials from the shed and that I was not ready for him and his guys. I again told him that I have a back problem and that if I could remove the materials from the shed that I would have no need for his services and also stated that he agreed to do all the removal and replacement of the contents when we did the initial contract and that he could not change it now. Well as it sits now he is refusing to finish the contract and I am writing this review. As it looks my wife doesn't even want him back on site now because you never know if you can even trust him after that or what he will do. I think she is right and I won't be calling him back after the dispute. I paid 1/3 $500.00 after day 1 and another $500.00 after day 2. The contract still has another $500.00 left to be paid but the work will not get done so I need to find another company to finish the Job. I would not hire this guy back and I don't refer him to anyone. Also I will be doing a BB dispute after this review is done. While I was on the phone talking to him trying to get him to come back and finish the contract, the last thing I said to him was if you don't come back and finish then I am going to report you to the Better Business Bureau his reply was "Go for it" So this guy does not care about his reputation watch out for him.

During the period of 5/11 to 5/24 the work was complete (unannounced weekend arrival thrown in), so it seamed. And note most of it was done on the weekend which we did not agree to. It was unannounced arrivals and exceeded the original agreement. Upon inspection of the root I noticed only half was pressure washed. Although Mr. Doan invoiced me I didn t pay until all work was complete. From 5/24 to 6/2 I called a couple times to get the status of work. Each time I was given the answer I ll be over . Finally on 6/2 (unannounced arrival during weekend) his crew finished the roof. Not before borrowing my house broom to clean up the debris off the root... Note: this job that should have taken a week (as estimated by Doan) carried over into the next month. I think one of my biggest frustrations was I always had to contact him, he never once contacted me. It seemed as if I was a burden on him.
