Eric was very prompt to come visit our new home to give us quote and then was flexible to have the work completed before we moved in. The floors look great and the crew was a pleasure to work with. The cost was reasonable and close to the estimate that was provided. For refinishing hardwoods, I would use them again.

Book them today! Eric, James, and Brian are an all star team! I called them on a Sunday, Eric came out that same day to check out the floors, he had a bid to us that same day. The following Wednesday work began and by the very next Saturday they were done. We had our living room, dining room, hallway, bedroom, office, and two closets done! And they look incredible! I wish I could add a photo so you can see the mess we gave Eric and his team to work with and the absolutely beautiful work they did. Book today!

There sanding marks throughout the house, planks that do not even reach the edge of the walls, planks that are not flush with each other. The stairs are not up to code. There are pieces that are missing from the stairs, literally pieces that just are not there with unfinished wood exposed. When confronting Eric about their poor workmanship his response was "overall I think its pretty good work". Here is an image gallery of their workmanship on our house: [*** Link removed ***] I will never hire Classic Hardwood Floors again and I would not recommend them to anyone.

Everything went really well. Work was done on time, and they went above and beyond to make the floors look great. Nothing much to say but everything went better than expected and was done very well.

Eric was able to come over and take a look at the job the first day I called him.  He showed up on time and measured the job and answered any questions I had about the job.  He gave a competitive written bid with the 3 wood options we were interested in.  After that, we went to his two suppliers showrooms to pick the wood.  We picked cumaru (Brazilian Teak) and Eric got it on order.   The wood showed up at the house 5 days later.  The wood was placed in the house and allowed to acclimate for a week.
Eric's crew showed up for the install and worked two days on the job and got it 90% done.  They ran out of wood due to a number of defective/damaged boards.  I was really happy that they pulled them out and did not install them!  I am sure some contractors would have just installed them and said too bad.  He got more wood on order right away.  They were able to complete the install about two weeks later.  The two week delay was well worth the wait to get the job done right the first time since we consider this a "forever" floor.
We are very happy with the quality of the wood and carefulness of the installation!  Floor looks great!

They did a really great job, they were timely, worked around my schedule, the floor looks great and everyone that walks in says oh wow. I thought they done a great job. I would use them if I had another project.

Eric, of Hardwood floors was very professional and was willing to work within our time frame since we had to move out for a few days with our pets.  He was very thorough in measuring and explaining the process and durability of different finishes.  He was very prompt in showing up and returning phone calls.  They had a real challange on the fir insert in dining room (which is quite large) since it was covered with old paint and plaster (a rug covered it).  They were also able to move our spinet piano out and complete music room.  They did the job in the time frame they said and were very clean workers hanging plastic to prevent filtering of sanding through out house.  We could not have asked for better service.

Eric was very good to work with. He was easy to get in touch with and was responsive. This was the first time my husband and I were dealing with hardwood floors, so Eric gave us a lot of good ideas and walked us through our options. Our completed floors do look beautiful for the most part. What really frustrated us in the end was the lack of attention to detail in the crew who came to do the floors. There are several areas where we now need to install quarter rounds along with the baseboard because they left too large a gap between the wall and the floor. There was one area in our upstairs hallway that they had to come back and resand and finish, but the person who came out to do it put the wrong finish on the floor and made the problem worse. That required Eric coming out to fix it the second time. The crew put all our old baseboards back up, but broke several of them. I wish instead they just would have told us about them breaking and then not put them up. Instead, my husband and I have to take them all down so we can put up new baseboards. The person doing the stairs took an incredible amount of time doing them, and it held up the project by a couple of days. We had matching vent covers put in, but the crew just stained them and left them out in the garage. We had to put them in the vents, and the covers were too big. So someone had to come out to shave them down a bit. They didn't even screw in the banister to the stairs! And when the crew left, they left a good amount of trash (empty soda bottles, towels, tiny pieces of scrap wood, etc.) in the house and garage. Overall, the floors look beautiful, but the finish work and attention to detail at the end of the project took what could have been an A job to a B-/C+ job.
Response from CLASSIC HARDWOOD FLOORS
"To be honest I was completely surprised to read this review. When we left the job the customer told me they were very happy with the job and the floors looked great. We were to add hardwood stairs and when we started we found that there were no supports so we had to rebuild the staircase. However, even with that we still finished when we said we would and were not late. We installed a basement floor with normal gaps (which are necessary for expansion) and the homeowner was going to install base boards afterwards. I’m not sure why they needed quarter round except that maybe they had very thin base boards. I do know there was a very minor issue with the finish on two boards and I had to come back because the sheen was a little off. We also scraped out the finish in the vents to have them sit lower which is completely normal. If we had known that we missed bolting down one spot on the railing we would have come back to take care of it. At times there may be minor issues but we take every effort to remedy any concern there may be and do our best to make the customer happy."

I had three prior estimates on floors - all slightly lower but being veterans of having hardwood floors refinished (this was our 5th time) we knew what was entailed and prior people were not using the most durable finish nor removing floor moldings and underestimating the time involved. Eric, the owner, was very thorough in work description and extremely knowledgeable. He was also very responsive to all questions, returned phone calls promptly, and he and his crew showed up exactly at promised time. Class Floors showed up and completed work on schedule. A real pleasure dealing with such professionalism. They did excellent work.
