A-1 Firewood

The process was simple.  Dean from A-1 Firewood would call regularly in the Spring and we'd set up a delivery time.  Sometimes he would be a bit of a pest but I was fine with that.  I understand he has a business and needs to sell.  This was an annual process.  It seemed to me that the cords were small, but I never took the time to figure how much wood I was getting.  WOW was I stupid!  Last year, in 2011, I figured that I only got about 85-90 cubic feet rather than the 128 cubic feet there is in a cord.  I called and left a message to complain.  He never returned my call but about two weeks later more wood arrived.  It brought it up to about 115 cubic feet (still short) and many of the pieces of wood were small limbs about 1-3 inches in diameter.  That's the last I've heard from him.  He hasn't called back this year to see if I needed more wood.  The whole situation annoys me.  I'm annoyed with myself for being so stupid and I'm disappointed that a 10+ year customer couldn't get the full cord.  A few days ago I ordered another cord from a competitor.  The competitor's pile is over a foot higher than A-1 gave me and the diameter is two feet wider.  Of course I measured the wood in the truck.  It was a cord.  I'll be going with the competitor from now on.

I would not recommend this business, as not only do you not get what you paid for, he doesn't seem to be concerned about pleasing his customers, and he criticizes you for being "rude" when you point out the amount of wood is not what you ordered and paid for.
