We bought the house 2 years ago and at that time we had the company that installed the system come out to teach us how to manage the system. They talked to us about cleaning the salt container annually, but nothing else. So when there seemed like there HAD to be something wrong with the system, we called Clean Water Services to check it out for us. They found that the filter media was gone and had been for 5 years! The media needs to be replaced every 5 years. Three trips to our house and a select type of media based on the chemical analysis of our well water cost about $500.
