The install on the used gas furnace went better than expected. The fan on the used unit did not operate at first. Colin promptly diagnosed that the contacts were corroded and once cleaned, problem solved. This job lead us to have Colin do the annual services on all the units at our three houses. I escorted Colin from house to house. This work was accomplished quickly. I especially appreciated that Colin explained what he was doing and what the readings meant. This lead to the purchase and installation of our first new furnace. Colin and I discussed the details of the condensate drain and the furnace exhaust vent location. I appreciated him installing these as I requested. One of his competitors wanted to sell me a condensate pump which was not needed. The furnace was installed without issue and the inspection passed with no deficiencies. Colin provides the permits as part of the service. One of his competitors asked me to go to the city and get it myself if I wanted it. Colin provided a "one-stop shop" kind of service. The next two annual services were performed by other Technicians. Both arrived on time and performed the services one after the other (I escorted them from house to house) very efficiently. And like Colin, they explained their findings to me. The final job in this review is the installation of a new gas furnace. This job took a bit longer than I was expecting because of a late delivery of the new furnace from the supplier. This furnace purchase included a new programmable thermostat. I didn't need the thermostat in that house, but did need it in one of the other houses. Colin allowed me to use the new thermostat where I needed it. I appreciated this courtesy very much. The technician that performed the installation of this furnace was observant to an issue with the original flue gas vent plastic piping (condensate was building up in a low spot and flooding back to the furnace.) Again, Colin was open to my suggestions on how to run new vent piping. There were a couple of minor issues that were found by the inspector. These were promptly remedied. I have Clean Air Comfort Systems on an annual service schedule and plan to use them for these services and any other issues that come up with our HVAC systems. The approximate cost of service includes all the work described in this review. Colin and his entire crew, both in the office and in our homes are great to work with.
