We've lived here about 9 months and they're weren't the first ones we found out about, but as soon as I found out they had holistic doctor's, I switched to them. I was pleased with them. They seemed to know what they are doing.

They have holistic doctors which we like. I don't know about the price because we've recently moved to the area. I just honestly don't know. The professionalism is definitely an "A".

Horrible, they completely lied to essentially steal money from me. I have two dogs with uncontrollable urination problems. Vet advised that bloodwork and urinalysis was mandatory in order to write a prescription for Proin. When
my first dog started having this problem, I asked if this was mandatory by law, or just what they recommend as a vet.
Sara advised it is mandatory by law and she could lose her license for prescribing without the bloodwork and urinalysis. So, I paid the exorbitant fees for the work. They called to tell me the blood and urin came back fine and they could prescribe the medication, before I had even brought the urin to them for testing. This was my first suspicion that they weren't being honest with me. We were in the process of a move, so I didn't have the time or energy to
fight the battle at that time. Then, a couple of months later, I brought my other dog in with the same problem. It had been a year since her last bloodwork and Sara again stated that it is mandatory by law and she must do the blood work annually in order to prescribe the medication. I paid the fee, with tears in my eyes because I couldn't afford it, and off we went.
Then I remembered that my brother used the same medication and they don't have much money at all, so I'd be surprised if they were paying for bloodwork yearly. I called and asked, and he advised that it was not necessary. He lives in NJ and I thought perhaps the laws are different in WA. I called 4 different vets in the surrounding area who advised that an exam is mandatory, but the bloodwork is only recommended, they all confirmed it is NOT mandatory, and I would not even have to sign a waiver to avoid the blood work. I would never trust this vet, EVER - they just want money. They think that because they work in an affluent area that everyone of their customers (Ex-Customers) has money coming out their ears and will gladly pay for anything they tell them they need. Wonder if you can also lose your license for lying about what is required and what is not.
Response from Legacy Animal Medical Center
"In response to [member name removed]'s complaint, I spoke with her in detail on 11/10/14 and explained that while this is a hospital policy there is also state law that says in order for a veterinarian to be able to dispense medication to a patient we have to have an established client/patient relationship. In the event that we ever have to defend ourselves in a court of law we also have to be able to prove beyond a reasonable doubt the patient is healthy enough to take the prescribed medication without it having any ill effect due to a secondary illness or disease. With this medication we have to rule out kidney and/or liver disease as it would worsen these diseases with its use. It can also cause pancreatic upset leading to pancreatitis. If a patient shows elevated pancreatic blood values, then it would not be a good candidate for this medication. The medication is also a scheduled drug meaning it is a controlled substance. With all of this to take into consideration, lab work including blood and urine are required. When I spoke to [member name removed] I explained in detail all of these things and she was happy with the call and our conversation. She said she understood the need for the tests but due to financial considerations it was a hard thing for her to be able to afford at the time. We do understand this and apologize this situation caused more hardship for her. That is never our intention. We have established this policy in the best interest of the pet and serves as a medical and professional requirement that protects all involved. [member name removed] was provided a refund to acknowledge her concerns and ensure good customer service was provided to her satisfaction."

My dog loves the vet, it's so weird. The staff knows our dog well and she is always excited to see them. After a terrible experience boarding our pup at pet resort, we were concerned about boarding her here overnight. When we picked her up she was just as happy and playful as ever! They take time out to play with her, give her lots of attention and treats, and send her home with a report card of how she did overnight. They are so wonderful! A little pricier than other offices but in my opinion not by much and totally and completely worth it! Thank you Legacy!

Our dog doesn't balk when we take her to Legacy Animal Medical Center. Cookie is always glad to see us come back but I don't feel guilty leaving her there. I think they work with the animals fairly well because the dog reacts to the girls that work there fairly well. For the facility and the extra attention she gets I think the price is fair. You get what you pay for.
