It went very well. After looking over the house, he submitted a written estimate. When we accepted we gave him a deposit. He showed up exactly when scheduled, worked every day, weather permitting, until it was done. He works very quickly and efficiently as he has been doing this for many years. He started by power washing the house (old and not painted for many years), waited almost a week for it to dry completely. Then he spent a couple of days scraping, filling, caulking, taping, and otherwise prepping the house. He had recommended a very good quality paint and he ordered and brought the paint choices that I had made. With both the primer and the final colors, he first sprayed then brushed it in, then sprayed a last time. His work was meticulous, including the area surrounding the house, and when done he made sure we understood that if we had any problems we were to call. This was also in the agreement we signed with him.
