SOUND GLASS INC

I emailed exactly what I needed and why (timed home closing), and I followed up by talking with Stephanie over the phone.  I live in Virginia and was trying to repair a window that was flagged as a condition of sale during a home inspection on my mom's home in Renton.  After Stephanie responded to my email inquiry in which I laid out everything in detail, I rec'd a rough estimate the next day and I responded by email to ok the work.  After not hearing about any progress, I inquired as to what was happening - was the work completed? On March 3rd, I got an email from Amanda, who apologized for the delay in having someone go out to measure and get me the final estimate. At this point I would have paid $300 for the repair just so we could go to closing on time, but Sound Glass has a big internal bureaucracy to go through. So, Amanda emailed that it would be another 2-4 business days to  get the glass and then another 1-1.5 weeks for the install !  Can you believe it? They knew we had closing on the 16th.The problem was that they didn't talk to each other and blew the order.  After figuring out they miscommunicated and they actually had the glass I stock, they said they could install it in a week.  So, they asked for payment up front, and to hold my credit card until the work was done!  Now, go into my position for a minute and tell me how much you'd trust them to take my payment info without having done anything except screw up the order?  No trust = no up front payment.  So, naturally I called another vendor on Angie's List, Valley Glass.  They installed it in a week from first contact to payment, which was after the work was done.  Valley Glass did a great job and we went to closing on the 16th.  Nuf said.

I called them with a 911 about a 4-1/2' by 5' mirror coming off my wall.  They were here within 1/2 hour.  Took it down and will be back with crew to rehang when crew available.  This could have been a disaster for my dogs who sleep against the wall where this mirror was hanging and for me sitting next to it.  It has been up for 13 years.
