Steve pays attention to detail and after looking into the project, he decided not to do it. I respect his honesty and integrity. And with Steve's blessing, I did eventually find a contractor who came highly recommended for the job.

We had two other bids and all were about the same in cost. Some covered more of one thing while the other covered more of another. So the bottom line was when my brother-in-law showed us the work he did on his place and gave Steve Shoemaker a glowing recommendation, we decided to ignore the cost difference and go with quality..

We tried to do everything right in selecting a contractor but didn't cross some of the T's or I's but were very fortunate that Steve was very trustworthy and dependable. In fact the inspector said how pleased he was to work with Steve and his team because they were so eager to do it all right. Rick, his right hand man, was here every day until the job was complete. He was always on time, always pleasant and respectful, and always a pleasure to have here. (How often can one say that?!)

Every detail of the job Steve reviewed with us before continuing on and didn't just and quot;assumeand quot; we wanted something. The detailing on the covered patio was exceptional and we now look at it as if it was a new room to the house.

The only problem we had with the whole project was the lousy building plan an architect sold to us prior to Steve winning the bid. I regret not having had Steve draw up the plans. It would have been cheaper and better.

Also, a year prior we'd had other work done on the house and found that they had failed to properly install the sliding glass door, omitting the header over the door on a weight bearing wall. Steve had to bid extra to fix it and with the bid, we had the last contractor reimburse us the cost to do it correctly.

I wanted to take some pictures and post them but haven't gotten around to it. Maybe I will later on.
