We received a prompt and courteous estimate for one picture window and bedroom windows. Since the picture window was single pane and fogged up frequently, I wanted to replace it right away. I could find no reviews for Access Windows, but since Costco used this contractor for Milgard window installation, I decided to go ahead with the picture window. WHAT A MISTAKE. Two employees showed up on the scheduled day, and commented to my wife they had the wrong truck, so they did not have the proper tools and asked to borrow my table saw. (Never loan power tools to a contractor unless you are willing to take on additional liability.) What contractor arrives at a job site without the proper tools? My wife called the company and spoke to the owner about postponing until they had the proper equipment. He was apologetic, but didn’t want to reschedule due to the extra expense. The workers said they could remove the window and take the molding back to their shop for cutting. When attempting to remove the single pane window, they discovered one of their suction cups was broken. Proceeding with only one section cup, they ended up dropping the window, from the 2nd story into the house, shattering all over the entryway, stairs, and hallways, both up and downstairs. On the phone to the owner, we were told they would do an initial cleanup, and would come back to finish the cleanup with a proper vacuum. When they returned later in the day to finish the molding, they did not even offer to finish cleaning up the shattered glass. They left the workplace a mess and did not even clean the window, leaving fingerprints all over the hard to reach 2nd story window. Also, no caulking was done (yet on the phone the owner said he was sure it had been done). We just had another contractor look at the installation, saying the two sided tape used and only two pin nails on each side holding the window in place, is not a proper or safe installation on this size window. After numerous calls to the company, the owner offered to take 20% off the bill and blamed my wife for failing to properly communicate. Bottom line...there are many highly rated installers available. So, avoid this contractor, even if Costco uses them. Ask Costco for another contractor
