Overall, I was very disappointed with the service from Merry Maids.
SCHEDULE: For the first couple months, they had extreme difficulty to honor the desired time window for service. They repeatedly would show up hours late and have some reason or another why. One particular day, they were so late, and so I called the office (since they never called me) and they said they would be arriving at our house around 4:30-5:00PM because they were running behind. That was completely unacceptable since our family had to make dinner, get the kid to bed, etc. [Our house took approx. 2-3 hours to clean].
MISSED ITEMS: They repeatedly missed entire rooms or areas that they would have to come back the next day to fix, which was sometimes a large inconvenience for us. They missed things like vacuuming an entire room, taking out one or all of the garbages, dusting window sills, cleaning sinks, cleaning stove, countertops. One of the root causes of this was because I would get different crews in all the time. I typically was not home when they cleaned, only was the first couple times to answer questions and show them where some of the garbage bags were, etc. So each time they scheduled a new crew in, it was the same sorts of problems all over again.
VERY POOR QUALITY: It also took APPROX 6 months to get our floors right. We have dark hardwoods throughout, and I would come home to a "clean" house to find the same spots on the floor. It was like they were sweeping/mopping over it, but with no elbow grease. I never could understand why this was so difficult. I did it for 2 years by myself, so I know that it is possible to get them clean. Counters in kitchen and bathroom would be cleaned, but with obvious soap, food and toothpaste marks left.
POSITIVES: I liked that they used 'green' cleaners, vacuumed the couches and dog beds.
Overall, only reason why I kept them for a year was because of the contract. I would call them so many times to let them know of items they missed and felt after a while that they were really sick of hearing from me, which is why nothing improved. I know our house can be very tedious (it has a lot of detail), but that's why I pay money to have it cleaned, because I need the help. And when my feedback doesn't fix the problem, then it shows poor quality and customer service. Our friends in granite falls also had similar experiences.

Did a decent job cleaning kitchen and baths, windows. Was a one time cleaning to supposedly deep clean the place.
They left things behind after they were done, coats, back brace gel-pack in freezer, apple core left in driveway :o)
We called about the personal items they left behind but we have not heard back from them.
