FHS discovered that the specified air handlers would not work and asked to substitute different equipment. They failed to deliver the alternative air handlers specified, installing a very cheap (a third the retail price of the original) and then demanded to be paid the original contract price. The system did not work properly when they completed it, and then completely failed within 5 days. They refused to return to finish the job correctly after I wrote many letters and talked to their attorney. I spent $4200 with another company to properly install and correct all the problems. FHS told me there was no permit required for the installation. When I went to my city building department, they confirmed that a permit was required. I got a permit and they sent out an inspector who wrote five pages of correction notices covering the problems with the FHS installation. That is what most of the $4200 was used to cover with the correcting contractor. After the city inspected the work done by FHS and wrote the 5 pages of corrections for the job they sent me to the Department of Labor and Industries to file a complaint. A state inspector then came to my home to inspect the work and wrote five citations to FHS with fines totaling almost $2000. These citations covered illegal employees on the job, procuring work outside of their licensed specialty, and a variety of other infractions. FHS appealed all five infractions from the State and lost all five appeals in a hearing with the Attorney General. After this ordeal I sued FHS to recover my loses due to their incompetent work and failure to deliver a working heating system. I won in court along with receiving an award for attorney s fees against the FHS bond. FHS elected to appeal the case to the superior court of the county where it is today. The principal of this company appears to be willing to say anything to get your money, and has no capacity to deliver quality. The company has a website that is not bad, which is how I found them, on an internet search. Further research since the dispute arose has revealed that other citations from the State were given to the company for similar actions in the year before I hired them.
