Expert Construction did a great job. The floors hadn't been refinished in at least 15 years and looked beautiful after the job was completed. Would definitely hire Expert Construction again and recommend to others.

We had some issues but these were promptly corrected to our satisfaction.

I could write a small essay. I was a bit apprehensive, rather unconfident, entering this process of hiring a contractor. Sergei and his entire crew were so honest and very detail oriented. I was well informed at all times and given sound advice regarding the installation of our wood floors. I felt ensured that our contractor was looking out for our best interest at all times. Not only did we get the deal of the century, but our dreams of having beautiful wood floors throughout the entire 1st level has been realized! 
Punctuality: Sergei and his entire crew were ALWAYS on time on the minute. They arrived before they had too...
Honesty: I now so much about laying wood floors now and what to look for in order to ensure 100% quality work. I could have easily spent more money for less quality elsewhere. I told Sergei that I would be calling him in 2016 for the installation of wood floors on the 2nd level.

He gave a bid to sand & refinish our brazilian cherry floors and replace the carpeted part of the floors with bamboo. After the initial deposit was paid and he started the work, he tried to increase the bid. When we protested, he told us he is going to finish the job as we initially discussed, before our move in date. He then said he had an issue with personnel and he will come back and finish it 2 weeks after we move in. Despite the inconvenience, we agreed. The night before he is supposed to start the work again, let us know he's not coming because we didn't pay him fully for the half job he has done. We've had enough with him - chose to get fresh estimates for finishing the damaged floors he left us with, and paid him his full estimated amount after subtracting our costs to finish the job.

Response to the firm's reply - 6/12/15

His response is so full of inaccuracies (lies), I'm not sure I want to sit here and refute every one of them, I will try - We closed on the home purchase on April 14th - not sure how we could have hired him before that. We were out of state & got him the check on Apr 16th - not 21st. He states that he planned to start refinishing May 11 from the get go - here is his email verbatim from Apr 21st -
"Your bamboo floors are finished. I was planning to comeback on Friday and reinstall all of the baseboards and clean up the place. However, refinishing of Brazilian Ch. end up in a problem for me. One of my crew went there yesterday for sanding. After trying, they called me and explained that sanding is not working on this finish. After arguing with them, they quit from my company. Now I'm short on hands. My second crew will be available on May 11th. We'll take another try.

Sergey was very professional and so was his crew.  My floors look great.

Let me start off by saying that Sergey is awesome. He is friendly and his estimate was right on target. He was prompt to all promised times (both estimating and project times given). He continued to check in with me as the project time approached and let me know what was going to be needed from me on storing the laminate ahead of his installation work.  When he pulled the carpet he found an issue with our subflooring (there was none) and we were both quite surprised. He gave me a couple options to deal with the issue and was able to perform the extra work of installing a subfloor for us. He achieved this by working extra hours to get the job done. He had another person (Ben) come the next day. Ben is young and I was dubious about how well he would do. Boy was I wrong! This guy was able to install the laminate in a some very challenging spots and it looks fantastic.  It looked so good we were able to fore go baseboards in the entire living room. I was extremely impressed. Also, he is a great guy, and he worked long hours as well to finish the project on time despite the extra work.
Our flooring looks amazing and we couldn't be happier. I would use Expert Construction again without hesitation.

On time, on budget. Extremely thorough job of sanding. The floor in this house looks impressive, and will, no doubt, be one of its strong selling features (house going on market ~7-10-14).

For the bidding, Sergey came at the promised time, was very professional and knowledgeable. Explained all the steps, possible problems and provided likely solutions. Did not use "sales pitch" method, give us clear answers for our questions.
His cost was not the cheapest or the most expensive, we do feel we got what we paid for.
We did not meet his team, only saw what they accomplished when we got home at night. It was amazing and very progressive.
Finished the whole project well inside of the promised time-frame.
Sergey did all the final finishing, his attention to details are exceptional. The floors, moldings are beautiful, it looks just as we wanted.

We are in the midst of preparing my mom's 1961 split level home for sale. Carpeting was covering some of the beautiful originally installed hardwood flooring, so we removed it all of it and then needed to have it sanded and refinished. We contacted Expert Construction for an estimate, and decided to go with them. From start to finish, Sergey and his company provided excellent service. The finished job is beautiful! We couldn't have asked for a better experience and highly recommend them to anyone looking for a hardwood flooring company.

They did a great job and it was done in the amount of time we were told. They were punctual and professional and cleaned up.

Sergey came out to give me a quote the same day that I made the initial contact.
He assessed the condition of my floors, measured, and explained the process to me.
We were going on vacation for two weeks the following weekend, and I wanted to have the work completed while we were away so that we wouldn't have to deal with the dust etc.  Sergey was able to rework his schedule to make that happen. 
He responded to emails within 24 hours, and answered my questions fully and professionally.
We went away on vacation leaving him with access to the property, and came home to beautifully refinished floors. 
I've had some issues in the past with contractors, and am now always nervous when undertaking large projects.  Sergey was wonderful.  The project went very smoothly and we are very happy with the finished results. 

Sergey of Expert Construction came to measure & discuss our flooring project & we had a detailed written estimate within a couple of days.  Sergey was prompt, professional & quick to respond to any questions or concerns.  They masked & covered areas for dust containment, installed the new stairs & floors, then sanded all floors & applied 3 coats of Swedish finish.  Dimitri & crew did a fantastic job weaving the new oak floor into the adjoining existing hardwood.  They were always on time, hardworking, polite and completed the project within the time frame promised.  We are very pleased with the result - the floors look great.

I bought a nice 1954 rambler and needed carpet removed and all hardwoods refinished, totaling around 500 square feet. Since I'm new to the area I called the contractors I know locally and they recommended Sergey. With due diligence I sought out several quotes from different contractors for the job. Sergey's quote and analysis was spot on so I hired his crew for the job. I'm happy I did as the project was well done in timely, professional, and he even provided me with follow up information that I needed, I will use him again and would highly recommend their services.

We just bought a new house and needed to get our hardwoods refinished in the living room, hallway and 3 bedrooms. Sergey gave us the best bid out of three different estimates and was always honest and up front with us. He recommended various fixes and talked us through the number of coats without trying to oversell us. He was always responsive via phone or email and sent me recommendations as requested. Dmitri is the one who worked on our floors, and they turned out beautifully. He nicked our wall at one point, and was honest enough to tell us about it. We were able to cover it with the baseboards, but he offered to come back and fix it if we had trouble. It took slightly longer than we expected to air out the house, but otherwise, our experience was fairly flawless from start to finish. We ended up recommending Sergey and team to my parents for a new hardwood installation, and they're also very pleased.

Sergey was very responsive and remembered the previous job he had done on the home.  We were on a tight time schedule and he was able to accommodate a quick turnaround.  They did a wonderful job and the floors are gorgeous.  They do not look like brand new wood floors, but they should not.  This house is more than 100 years old.  
The floors still show some staining they they were unable to remove and variations in color due to sun damage, but the areas that were most worn look beautiful...smooth and unblemished.  I can't believe that the splintered areas were able to be repaired so beautifully.
If we ever decide to refinish the staircase, we will definitely call Sergey and his crew at Expert Construction.

Very well planned and executed. The estimate was exactly spot on. The work was completed on time and the clean-up was immaculate. The only problem with their service is no painting, period. Any caulking or touch up painting must be done by the homeowner or another contractor. The workmanship on the floors and stairs was perfect, but in both cases we had additional details to perform. Their price was well worth the finished product, but they would work best in the context of new construction. The additional work took a few hours, but was easily done by us.
