Justin contacted me right away, made an appointment, arrived promptly, and gave a professional and detailed bid that included everything I wanted to have done. We were working on scheduling and then my world changed. I have had to postpone the job but this is definitely my company of choice when I am able to schedule this job. He has all of the equipment and expertise needed to remove a tree in the corner of the backyard where there is really no access for equipment. This company also does General Contractor work and, as we talked when he was at the house, we discovered that he had done a few repair jobs for me before I even moved into the house. His company was hired through my real estate agent prior to my move-in. One of the jobs he did inside was installation of a down-draft stove which included vent work. The work was flawless and I was very pleased! I am already also planning some inside work for the future - right after we get those trees handled - right after I get my feet back on the ground! I want to add that he was also very understanding when I explained why I had to postpone the job. I'm very much looking forward to working with him in the future!
"Thank you [removed members name] for your review. You told me that you believed that my company was the best choice for your project, even though we were not the lowest bidder. However, in your wisdom, you know, like many people do, that you get what you pay for. I strive to be the best in my business, go the extra mile for people, and give them the better service while keeping the project at a fair price. You treat people right, they tell everyone, you treat people wrong, they tell everyone. We all know what that means."
"Thank you [member name removed] for your review. It is always satisfying to make a customer happy and complete their project above and beyond what is expected. A call back for more work says it all. I will be happy to help you on your next project."
"A very happy customer is always important to me, thank you for your review."
The overall quality of all of the work seems good. We would not use him again nor recommend him for the following reasons:
Unknown to us, he was preforming all of this work without a valid CDL and received a ticket while doing this work one day. This caused a lot of delay in the work since he had to go take classes to get a CDL.
Towards the end of the project he was not showing up at scheduled times and we would often have to call him the day of to see when he would be coming (after the initial time he said he would be there). He ended up taking on a lot of work withthis and I think it was too much for him to do by himself. He really doesn't have a crew, besides someone who helps with the tree trimming.
We ended up letting him go before all of the work was completed do to the extensive amount of time it was taking and do to the decline in the work attitude. Throughout the project we were frequently having to ask him for updated invoices and receipts for the payments we had made. With later work we had done with other companies we now realize that most companies have a contract and itemized bids, both of which he does not do.
"My Scope of Work, which describes the work and the cost, is the contract. I invoice the entire job at the completion of the job. As a general contractor and by law, I do not have to itemize any bid or invoice, I am not a retail store where you purchase items. There is 736 recorded man hours worked in 28 days between three people. 457 miles for hauling 378.2 tons of materials (dirt or rock) in and out of the job-site in my 10 yard dump truck. 90 hours on my excavator. The additional tree removals, stump grindings, French drain, dry well, and remodel were all in addition to the original tree trimming, which was a one day job. I made room in my full schedule to accommodate this job due to the rainy season coming all at the expense of losing other jobs that were scheduled. Mr. Hernandez was well aware of this information before I took on his non-scheduled extra work. My CDL has nothing to do with my business license, bond, or insurance let alone the work. A CDL is a commercial driver's license, which I have (Class A). A CDL is for driving commercial vehicles over 26,000 lbs. and in combination with a trailer."
The job was performed flawlessly. They limbed up the tree before they topped it and managed to avoid hitting any of the small trees nearby that we wanted to save. The whole process was amazing to watch and we are extremely happy with the work done. All of he guys, Justin, Cliff and Randy are extremely personable and really know their business.
Should the need arise, we would definitely hire them again!
"Thank you (member name removed). Missing all them trees below took some precision cutting that had no room for error. I love all the challenges that arise in urban logging. The more complicated the rigging for a safe removal the better I like it. It separates me from the people who are unwilling or unable to do those extreme dangerous removals."
"Thank you [member name removed] for your review. It is all about taking care of the customer's needs and helping people beyond what they expect, just to see them smile. In addition, the referrals to friends and family says it all, more than words can speak."
"Thank you [removed member name]. I did get your email on the motorcycle carburetor information. It did help for tuning my 62 Norton. Since I had my excavator on site, it was important to me to leave a nice smooth area after ripping out the stump. Those extra things that I do for people is from the heart. I like to leave a person's property as nice looking as I can from the work done. Sometimes it is a challenge with big trucks and heavy equipment, which are necessary to complete the job quickly and safely."
"Member, Thank you for the recognition of my company's professionalism and work ethics. It is about providing everyone the best craftsmanship at a better price."
